Just FYI, hockey goalies are generally the thinnest hockey players. The pads make them look bulky but most of the good ones are thin/wiry/quick.

When I was growing up the fat kid was always the goalie in the winter and the catcher in the summer. He even used a lot of same pads. But we were a long way from being on track to playing anything more competitive than the other hayseed Alberta towns in our county.
