Hey, Cistulli, how long until you’re subbing for Jian Ghomeshi on Q?

Good Afternoon Gentlemen,

A few quick items:

1. Isn’t clutch hitting a myth?
2. Will there be a weekly link to the SI Power Rankings on Fangraph’s?
3. Where is the new “GUTS” page?

Please Advise. Thank you.

Brian

1. My understanding of the research done by Tom Tango et. al. is that something like 1/6th of the baseball population does indeed show themselves to be above average in the clutch in a statistically significant sense. The problem is that you don’t know which ones they are until you have a large sample size of clutch ABs, which can take something like 10 seasons. Which isn’t very useful.
3. You can go up to Carson’s summary at the top of the page and click the bold words which say Fangraphs Guts! and they will take you to the page in question.

Zac,

Appreciate the feedback; thank you. As for clicking the bold words, “Fangraphs Guts” I plead guilty to ignorance… didn”t even read it:) My bad and thanks again.
