OK… maybe justified.
But then said HR champion proceeds to REMAIN and DEFEND his HR leadership. Still… mostly dead fish.

The problem with the naive people who are all “boo current student loan system” is one of their main gripes is that unlike most debt the loans are not discharge able. But if you made them diachargeavle interest rates on them would skyrocket and many people couldn’t get loans at all because mostly college students are bad credit risks.
Now if you think there should be less money in the system anyway this is fine, but there are serious trade offs and passionate people like me. Chime trail druggie usually fail to understand that prt of their views.
I fail to understand virtually all of your post, not just the last sentence.
Weird. Then how do you explain the low interest on student loans before the law changed that made them not dischargeable? If I remember correctly at that time interest rates in general were much higher but student loan interest was right around where it is now.
The federally subsidized loan rates were low because they were federally subsidized, the ones that were not were not generally lower, and the borrowing students were not remotely analogous to the current student body. A student in the late 60s or early 70s was still extremely likely to be upper middle class and extremely likely to get a good job upon graduation, neither of those things are true anymore. Also tuition was much lower at most public schools, so the people needing loans were upper class kids going to elite schools generally (good credit risks).
Today’s environment where nearly everyone with a pulse takes out student loans is not similar and the students are MUCH worse credit risks taking out more money for comparatively lower earnings.
You make student loans dischargeable and loans are going to be MUCH harder to get, which I don’t necessarily think is a bad thing, but the student likely would as the ones who are most exercised about this are exactly the ones who wouldn’t get loans.
hey sullivan, i’m glad that you’re able to enjoy your white male privilege of enjoying a midafternoon sandwich because people with gluten intolerance cannot do that. celiac disease is real thing people have and not a fake disease as you describe it. thanks for mocking our disease jeff.

He was obviously not talking about people with celiac disease. If you want someone to be angry at, then be angry at the dorks who appropriated gluten allergies for fun and turned the whole thing into a joke.

The gluten fad has been really good for people that have a real gluten intolerance. There are many more gluten free foods out there now.
Sigh.

As a man/boy on the cusp of manhood (20 years on this earth) with Asperger’s, or fulfilling the jointly sufficient conditions therefor, I find myself lacking in passion. Few things get my will sufficiently aroused and they all tend to be concentrated in wasteful areas of endeavour. However, the biggest problem with being such a calculating individual, and a cynic too, is that passion and emotion cannot very often motivate me, and when they do it is fleeting. I feel strongly that I should get to work, and then, after this burst of emotion dies down, I submit queries to Fangraphs writers during Chats.
Hardly any area of endeavor is wasteful. Once you realize the universe has no greater meaning, the sooner you can begin to assign values of your own and prosper.
