Episode 574
Dayn Perry is a contributor to CBS Sports’ Eye on Baseball and the author of three books — one of them not very miserable. He’s also the guest on this edition of FanGraphs Audio.

Carson Cistulli has published a book of aphorisms called Spirited Ejaculations of a New Enthusiast.
If Dayn Perry ever wishes to subjugate himself once more to the merciless vox populi, the good people at Banknotes Industries are happy to ask questions for Question Time.
Can we get an update on the patriot meat project?
There wasn’t the usual pep in Cistulli’s voice.
First he runs Knobler out of CBS, now he calls him out as an annoying tweeter. Dayn Perry, Internet bully.
this was peak Cistulli and Perry.
Dear Fangraphs Audio Program,
I was absolutely shocked to discover, during this episode, that Dave Cameron possessed such an explosive hatred of ethnic minorities, and basic audio quality standards.
Very unprofessional.
you misspelled progrm
Dayn is not nearly interesting enough to have to sit through him eating while talking and the incessant background noise.
must be hard to be forced to listen to podcasts
…which is why I stopped listening….which could be relevant to Carson
My favorite part is when the listener ignores the disclaimer.
Exactly: if FG or Carson give a shit about how many people download and listen to these conversations, he’ll make it clear to Dayn that some of his antics are causing a loss of audience.
God Almighty Damn, Cistulli finally got aholt of Mr Perry for an hour.
That explains the dead bird in my mailbox.
this comment is more enjoyable, and probably more realistic, if interpreted through british slang.
I agree with the comment about having to listen to all the background noise. No, I wasn’t forced to listen. However, I do normally enjoy the conversions between Carson and Dayn. But this one was very painful. I continue to keep listening until the power goes out — I’m hoping that at that point, the background noise level will dissipate.
I understand Dayn’s disdain for the listeners. However, being one, I can only say that if Fangraphs and/or Cistulli wants me to keep listening, it needs to be made clear to Mr. Perry that some modicum of basic good radio SOP (e.g. a decent audio quality) is necessary for the listening enjoyment of the Fangraphs audience.
In other words, act like a person, or accept losing a piece of your audience.
Dude, its called schtick
Art is fart.
Then I guess I used to like dayn’s schtick, but have reached my limit as far as this piece of schtick is concerned. Dude, it is an audio podcast: first and foremost the sound quality must not completely suck.
Dayn seems to have deteriorated considerably since the last pod, having become much more ornery…
If Dayn were a true patriot, he’d record a podcast for the 4th of July.
