If the value of a win on the free agent market is ~$5 million, then would Adam Laroche at 3/21 really be that awful a deal? I don’t love the O’s possibly committing three years to a 31-year-old, but value wise there’s an excellent chance he earns that contract.

Yes, but how would you market your personal jetpack game to kids in the inner-cities or the DR… the cost would be too much for them! Your sport would loose the best athletes to games that can be learned using cheap items like sticks and rolled up socks.
