“Writers love closers, because closers mean increased certainty in the 9th inning, and there’s nothing writers hate more than having to rewrite their game story after a blown lead pushes a game into extra innings. It has more to do with the job of a beat writer than baseball.” I never have thought it this way. It makes perfect sense.
