When will Dave Cameron concede that Miguel Cabrera is the best pure hitter in the game? I honestly don’t know what it is: the fact that he doesn’t speak English, isn’t all-American like Votto or Braun…. someone tell me why Cabby is always ignored in favor of these players?

Except Braun and Votto are better

They need to not play in the JV league before you make that statement.

Braun and Votto are better hitters….how? Sure their defense and base-running are better, but how are they better pure hitters? Cabrera’s numbers would be a joke if he played half his games in Great American Ballpark….

Votto’s better but I’d take Cabrera over Braun. I don’t understand people who get all self-righteous that others don’t have the infatuation with certain players that they do, though.

Or maybe, just maybe it’s the fact that Votto is a better hitter than Miggy. Here are their career slash lines :

.318/.394 /.558
.316/.412/.556

Identical batting averages and slugging percentages with the superior on base average means that you don’t know jack and are just another AL fanboy like anon.

BTW, Colin. Wake me up when the alleged varsity league scores a run against the JV team. Oh, how many world series have they won in the last 2 years? 6 years? You’re just another dumbass who doesn’t know anything about the NL.

Is that serious? You’re using World Series wins to determine league superiority?

You’re right. Interleague isn’t a thing.

In regards to the stretch vs wind up stuff the thing I would be more interested in seeing is analysis of pitch velocity and movement when looking at the two deliveries. It would be more conclusive to know that a pitchers stuff is less effective because they can’t replicate the same pitches in one or the other.

I like the idea of a Strikeout Derby. Similar to how HR derby participants each bring their own pitcher, K-Derby players can each bring their own batter. Each pitcher would then face a “lineup” of ALL these batters, to see how many Ks they could get before giving up a HR. Kimbrell could bring Francisco, Chapman could bring Stubbs, etc … it would be GLORIOUS!

Unbelievable how many times I’ve seen that Lester and Ellsbury for Felix thing mentioned over the past 3 years. I wonder if it’s the same 12-year-old over and over again.
