Don’t cut Teheran. He is the 2nd highest ranked pitching prospect in the minor leagues…..at age 20.

I would also cut Dom Brown before Ackley.

Dave,

You stated in the chat that Sabathia has been demonstrably better than Verlander this season. Could you possibly expound upon that? From a layman’s prospective, they’re looking pretty even — each is at 6.2 WAR and while Verlander’s K/9 and BB/9 are slight better, Sabathia’s HR/9 is better. Further, it seems to me (please correct me if I’m wrong) that Verlander’s BABIP for 2011 is somewhat “lucky”, as he is .040 below his previous career low.

I’m not asking this to be a jerk or to point out that you’re wrong (as so many seem to want to do), but I’d actually like to know what you’re looking at the makes Verlander’s season stand out.

Thanks.

Seattleite, I just read over the chat and it actually says that Verlander has been demonstrably better than CC this year, not the other way around. In your comment you said that Dave said that CC was better than Verlander. By the way, I think the Verlander no hitter has helped him in the view of fans. Also, I think it is necessary to mention that CC pitches in Yankee Stadium, which is tough for pitchers, and also in the AL East, which is much harder than the AL Central.

Oops. Yeah, I meant to write that Dave had said the Verlander has been demonstrably better. I don’t see it, so I was curious as to what he was looking at.
