FanGraphs Live! Friday 12:30 ET: The All-Star Futures Game on MLB The Show

As we are at the time of year when we’d have our traditional All-Star festivities, this week’s FanGraphs Live! stream, featuring Eric Longenhagen, Ben Clemens, Paul Sporer and Dan Szymborski, will livecast baseball’s Futures Game. Started in 1999, the game initially featured 50 minor league players in a US vs. World format, which was later changed to American League vs. National League prospects in 2019.

While it appears that we’re going to get at least some real major league baseball in 2020, the minor league season was canceled, as was the All-Star Game and any related events. In our virtual 2020 season on MLB The Show, some of the top prospects have been called up, including Adley Rutschman, last year’s number one overall pick and the top prospect for the Baltimore Orioles. Still, our version of the Futures Game is chock-full of future stars, headed by today’s starters, MacKenzie Gore of the San Diego Padres and Deivi Garcia of the New York Yankees.

It should be a fun two hours, so put your feet up, grab a cold one, and join us for the chat!
