FanGraphs+ is Back
FanGraphs+ never went away — we update it throughout the year with content posted on ESPN Insider — but it’s time for the annual. We’ll be publishing the full FG+ arsenal in just over a week.
Once again, we’ll have over 1000 player capsules, sussing the fantasy value of everything from the studdiest stud to the LOOGYiest LOOGY. This year, we’ll add auction values to those capsules, and FG+ subscribers will see those values on the projections leaderboards. And below you’ll see our table of contents — all long, research-driven and analysis-heavy pieces that walk the line between fantasy and real baseball work.
As a special preview, available to current FanGraphs+ subscribers as well as ottoneu players, we’re publishing Chad Young’s piece, Auction Values For All Three ottoneu Formats, today as a free bonus. Hey, it’d be kind of unfair to let some ottoneu users in on the fun while excluding others, wouldn’t it? Deliciously unfair.

If you click on the link for the auction values page it’s just a teaser saying he does the adjusted values. Where can someone actually find the ottoneu values for players?

Where’s the player capsule on the player pages? It just shows the 2012 FG+

You should be able to access it:
– if you have an active ottoneu team.
– if you have ever subscribed to any year of FanGraphs+ (2010, 2011, 2012 or 2013).
I subscribed to the 2012 FG+, but I do not have an active Ottoneu team
You should have access to this article then. There are no 2013 player capsules yet. They will be available February 4th.
This is worth it just to give fangraphs revenue to keep the vast majority of the content free.
hear hear. if this were a ‘pay what you want’ model I would pay the going market rate of a 6-pack of fine west coast craft IPA plus shipping to thank Eno and crew for this service.
As it stands, I am happy to settle at $5.
i would pay twice as much for NotGraphs+
what would it have? 5,000 word essays on the existential meaning of Chone Figgins, perhaps. A GIF within a GIF within a GIF… within a GIF?
NotGraphs+ would include in depth player profiles written sestina format for every player on the 2003 tigers and all of the adult conversations that take place after the end of each fangraphs audio.
So we need to re-subscribe to get the 2013 Fangraphs+ stuff even if we had 2012, correct.
You can see the preview for free, but in order to get the new FG+, yes, you have to re–up.
The only instance where you do not have to re-subscribe to 2013 is if you purchased FG+ on or after September 1st 2012. Anyone who purchased FanGraphs+ 2012 September 1st 2012 or later has been automatically given FanGraphs+ 2013.
Will FG+ be coming out with these auction values for AL/NL only leagues?

I thought this would be about comparing a player’s park-adjusted fangraphs stats to the league average. Whoops.
