Dark Mode Is Now Available For All FanGraphs Members
FanGraphs Members (both regular and Ad-Free) are now able to toggle between different color themes for the website, allowing us to introduce an official dark mode for the first time!
To choose between color themes:
- Members have a new option in their user menu at the top right of the site indicating the theme.
- Clicking on the theme option allows you to cycle through themes.
- Themes are set on a browser-level. Once set, the theme will be retained until you sign out of the browser or clear browsing data.
That’s not all! If you’re nostalgic for 2005–2013, we have a classic theme for you! It uses the classic FanGraphs beige from the early days of the site. This is a favorite of CEO and Founder, David Appelman.
As always, please let us know in the comments if you have any issues or if we missed applying the themes to an obscure corner of the site.

does your response mean that Podcasts are transcribed and I do not know how to access? if so how do I access. Much appreciated.
I think Evan’s comment is that technology exists for the FG crew to transcribe them, so they should be able to do it for you.

Great idea, big fan! Is there a way to make the site maintain your account’s mode choice? I opened tabs and the tabs switched back to light mode, and it also didn’t remember when I closed and opened homepage again from scratch.
We don’t have plans at the moment to make that an account preference.
The theme should be maintained on all the pages that are opened (within the same browser) after you set it. If you have something that blocks cookies, that could cause some issues.

Love the dark mode. Noticed on the THE BOARD that the prospect note pop-ups are nearly unreadable in dark mode though.

Just wanted to note- tried out dark mode, and it looked great for the most part. However, it is nearly impossible to read the writeups on THE BOARD, so I’ll be sticking to light mode out of pure convenience until that is fixed.

I, admittedly, did not read to the end of the article. I expected to switch back to Light mode when I switched to Classic (without reading… again) and immediately thought my monitor broke and/or I was experiencing the onset of some strange form of jaundice.
In all seriousness, kudos for tinkering with the aesthetics and letting users pick what works for them. The dark theme seems a bit… unpolished though? This comment text input is still light, for example.
Spit shine aside, I find the pure white font color (#FFFFFF) a bit abrasive against a darker background. Maybe a light gray would be gentler on the eyes?
