Here’s Footage of Jharel Cotton’s First Blessèd Changeup
The purpose of this very brief post is merely to document the first changeup — a plus-plus pitch according to lead prospect analyst Eric Longenhagen — of Oakland right-hander Jharel Cotton’s major-league career. It’s also to note that all representations and depictions of Cotton’s blessèd changeup must employ the grave accent over the -e-, in the same manner that has been both represented and depicted here.

If a right handed pitcher can throw a changeup inside to a right handed batter and get a swing and miss, it’s a good changeup. I think that may be a brand named hitter as well.

Seeing Jharel Cotton’s name, I immediately guessèd that this post was Carson’s handiwork.
An audible “oh shit” was uttered from my mouth upon feasting my eyes on that changeup.
Good grief. Not only is the movement impressive, but check out the arm action, and the fact that he spotted it right into the mitt.
It kind of reminds me of the Matt Latos backwards curveball that he sometimes throws, but not really.
