Position: Bench Coach, Dominican Republic Academy

Summary:
The New York Mets are seeking a Bench Coach for their Academy in the Dominican Republic. The individual will provide support to the rest of the coaching staff in numerous areas. These will primarily consist of hitting and defensive instruction, but may also include assistance in constructing the daily Academy schedule, lineups, and designing practice environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementation of the Mets hitting and defensive development programs
• Collaborate with scouts, coaches, strength and conditioning staff, research and development staff, and front office to implement these programs
• Maintain established processes alongside player development staff
• Assist with implementation of new systems and technologies alongside player development staff
• Assist other field staff with daily operations at the complex (throwing BP, hitting fungoes, feeding machines, etc.)
• Mentor all players at the Mets Academy by showing them what is required to become a Major Leaguer

Qualifications:

• Interest and desire to improve the instruction at the Mets Academy in the Dominican Republic
• Ability to communicate with staff across the organization
• Disposition and ability to learn about new technologies
• Ability to operate in Microsoft Office
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus
