Title: Organizational Intern, Player Development

Reports to: Manager, Player Development
Status: Full-Time Salary Non-Exempt Intern

Position Overview:
The Philadelphia Phillies are seeking passionate and knowledgeable applicants for an entry-level Player Development internship. This role will work closely with the Manager, Player Development and various stakeholders in the PD department. The position will be based out of Clearwater, FL. A strong candidate will provide a diverse perspective and administrative support to our PD group. This position will offer opportunities to contribute throughout the many facets of the PD department.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to management, organization, and integration of the organization’s PD system
  • Prepare tools, visualizations, and reports to assist in distributing information throughout PD
  • Assist with player projects and initiatives, including but not limited to roster management and transactions
  • Manage player communication systems and PD social media content
  • Provide administrative support as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Strong foundational baseball knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive equivalents (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and work as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with video & baseball technologies (TrackMan, Rapsodo, bat sensors, etc.)
  • Familiarity with minor league transactions and rules
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or experience with other programming languages (e.g. R, Python)
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish
