Jeff Sullivan FanGraphs Chat — 9/24/13
| 9:03 |
: Hey guys! |
| 9:03 |
: Late! |
| 9:03 |
: It’s not late when late is normal |
| 9:05 |
: All right, finally managed to tweet this out. Now then |
| 9:05 |
What is more depressing to you, the Mariners or that there is only one episode of Breaking Bad left? |
| 9:06 |
: I’m ready for Breaking Bad to be over. Aren’t you? It’s been too difficult to watch. Phenomenal, yes, but, it’s time. I’m pleased that the series is over this weekend.

| 9:07 |
: I think I’ll go with the word “dreadticipation” |
| 9:07 |
: that’s how I’ve been feeling about BB |
| 9:07 |
Why did Mike Trout’s 2012 UZR change from 11.4 to 13.3? |
| 9:08 |
: I don’t know the answer to that yet — maybe an adjusted park factor or a re-classification — but, how on earth did you notice? |
| 9:08 |
Tell me something to make me feel less depressed about Machado…please. |
| 9:08 |
: Many baseball players his age are juniors in college |
| 9:08 |
Have you ever considered the rest of the world might just be early? |
| 9:08 |
: all the damned time |
| 9:10 |
If the pirates stick in the wild card spot, who do you think should start the one wild card game? |
| 9:11 |
: Burnett, and if not him, Cole. Presumably, they’d be playing the Reds. Considering the Orioles beat the Rangers with Joe Saunders… |
| 9:12 |
More devastating for next year: Matt Harvey’s injury or Manny Machado’s? |
| 9:12 |
: Well, we don’t actually know if they’re both going to have surgery. If we operate under the assumption neither will play in 2014, though, the answer is Machado, because his team is closer to contending |
| 9:13 |
: Research needs to be done on how well players recover defensively after sustaining knee injuries like Machado’s. But we can’t do anything, really, until we know more details |
| 9:14 |
Who do you want to win the 2013 World Series? Who actually will? |
| 9:14 |
: A’s, Red Sox |
| 9:15 |
: It seems like the people who leave comments underneath chat posts on FG are always asking fantasy questions |
| 9:15 |
Are you going to reveal what your thoughts are on the hearing next Monday in New York w/ ARod and MLB? |
| 9:16 |
: Had completely erased it from my mind. I’d rather think about the playoffs |
| 9:16 |
If Profar doesn’t get traded, what will his role be in TEX next year? |
| 9:17 |
: similar |
| 9:17 |
What’s the reasoning behind shutting Taijuan down when he could make one.. perhaps two more starts?.. Do the M’s front office give a damn about the fans at all? |
| 9:18 |
: They didn’t want him to increase by more than 30 innings. They shut him down after an increase of 30 innings. They stuck to their guns, in an attempt to protect his arm, which is something we should all be rooting for. What’s the sense of pushing him now, in the most meaningless of Septembers? |
| 9:18 |
: Walker’s one start at home in the majors didn’t even sell 10,000 tickets. |
| 9:20 |
Many words have been typed about the A’s platoon advantages being a core of their success. Is this advantage more pertinent over the regular season than playoffs? |
| 9:21 |
: The effect is probably similar. Maybe a little reduced in the playoffs, but not enough for it to decide a series |
| 9:21 |
Yellich line in 2014? |
| 9:21 |
: a little worse than Yelich line in 2013 |
| 9:22 |
Hi Jeff, thanks for the chat! Is this the year for the A’s? Firing on all cylinders. |
| 9:22 |
: Yes |
| 9:22 |
: Definitively yes |
| 9:22 |
Sunday’s Astros-Indians game drew a 0.0 Nielsen raing in Houston… There has to be a snarky comment/philisophical joke in there |
| 9:23 |
: “According to the Houston Chronicle’s David Barron, Sunday’s game, which started at noon Central Time (1 p.m. Eastern Time in Cleveland) and was broadcast on Comcast SportsNet Houston, received a 0.00 Nielsen rating — a sampling of a small percentage of the TV-watching population. Sunday’s rating came via 581 meters in the Greater Houston area, around half of which were in use by viewers for any 15-minute period during the three-hour bloc between noon and 3 p.m. Meanwhile, 23 percent of households were busy watching the NFL’s Houston Texans lose to the Baltimore Ravens, 1.3 percent were watching a NASCAR race, 0.5 percent were watching a Cosby rerun and 0.16 percent were watching the NFL Network’s screen of football scores.” |
| 9:23 |
: I want to laugh, and it is funny, but I can’t help but think about the miniature sample size |
| 9:24 |
: God dammit FanGraphs |
| 9:25 |
Does the Royals team UZR give Dayton Moore any saber-cred? |
| 9:25 |
: You don’t get saber cred as a GM if you actively reject sabermetrics |
| 9:26 |
: I also suspect Moore doesn’t give a hoot |
| 9:26 |
Favorite non-baseball website? |
| 9:26 |
| 9:27 |
: Generally speaking, I try not to spend very much time on the internet if I’m not working on baseball. There’s a whole world outside, and I want to know as much of it as I can before I’m dead. And that could be any day! |
| 9:27 |
Projected line for Balentien if he played in the majors next year? |
| 9:28 |
: .250/.310/.450? Sure, whatever |
| 9:28 |
Is Rosenthal the answer for the cards pen? |
| 9:28 |
: one of them |
| 9:28 |
Given how little time is left in the season, we should be savoring it. Why is anyone in a hurry for you, or anything else baseball related, to begin? |
| 9:29 |
: Personally, I can’t wait for the regular season to be finished |
| 9:29 |
: but my favorite team sucks |
| 9:29 |
Does Mr. Nintendo’s death ultimately mean good bye Felix? |
| 9:29 |
: What? No |
| 9:29 |
: Wow, that is one thoroughly lousy submission |
| 9:30 |
Jeff, with hockey season coming up how is this year going to be without your lord and savior Daniel Alfredsson in a senators uniform? |
| 9:30 |
Why wouldn’t you want Liriano to start the wild card game vs. Cincinnati. With Votto, Bruce, Choo, I think having a lefty in there is a major advantage. Plus it’s Liriano’s natural spot in the rotation. |
| 9:31 |
: Reds haven’t hit lefties much worse than righties, and I like Burnett/Cole better. But Liriano’s fine too, provided you have him on a leash so things don’t go too sour in that event |
| 9:33 |
There’s a disconnect in sabermetric thinking that has really been bugging me recently and I was curious as to your thoughts. How can strikeouts simultaneously be the best possible result for a pitcher but just another out for the hitter? |
| 9:33 |
| 9:33 |
: Obviously, they’re important for pitchers. A strikeout isn’t a ball in play. Balls in play are hits sometimes, etc |
| 9:35 |
: Batters have a greater degree of control over their balls in play, like how much power they hit for. And strikeouts do matter more than other outs, but in the major leagues, the only batters left who strike out often are batters who make up for it in other ways like walks and dingers |
| 9:36 |
: I feel like I could’ve put that better, but that gets the general ideas across |
| 9:36 |
I want a dog but I’m poor as hell. Should I suffer financially or should I console myself in the warmth of a cuddly pup? |
| 9:37 |
: So basically: “should I get a dog, or should I get a dog?” |
| 9:39 |
You are aware of the rules for a possible 3-way tie for the Wild Card in the AL. If you were the Rays, wouldn’t you prefer to be team C at that point?. explain.. |
| 9:39 |
: If I were the Rays, I’d like to avoid a tie-breaker situation entirely |
| 9:40 |
I don’t understand the bees. They couldn’t have just come out of nowhere. Angel stadium is surrounded by a 100 mile radius of concrete. You would think at least they would’ve been visible to some employee long before the game. |
| 9:41 |
: I could be wrong, but I think they came from the trees. At least, that’s where a lot of them wound up |
| 9:41 |
Do you think Profar will ever become the player scouts expected him to be? |
| 9:41 |
: Sure |
| 9:42 |
Burnett, really? He’s had “big inning” problems the whole second half. Liriano’s got to get that start, especially with how he’s done v. lefties, the Billy Hamilton SB threat (Burnett’s terrible at holding runners), etc. |
| 9:43 |
: You can argue other ways, and that’s fine, and ultimately it won’t make a huge difference, but Burnett’s second-half FIP is also 2.20, and Liriano also blows up, adn Hamilton isn’t a good hitter, and by the time Hamilton might come off the bench to pinch-run, you’re probably into the bullpen. You should be into the bullpen early, regardless |
| 9:44 |
Since the Mariners relief pitchers have demonstrated talent and success in the past, and since relief pitchers are so unpredictable, should the bullpen be seen as the weakness it was this year and become a priority, or might it be decent enough already? |
| 9:44 |
: I think a good, easy rule of thumb is to just regress every bullpen to league average going forward to the next season. Obviously that misses a few points, and there will be exceptions, but if I’m the Mariners, or any other bad team, I don’t spend a lot of resources on upgrading my relief |
| 9:45 |
Do you have a favorite player on any of the projected postseason teams? |
| 9:45 |
: Unsurprisingly, Votto |
| 9:45 |
Since there’s basically no correlation between playoff predictions and what actually happens, would it be more honest of writers to just say “I have no idea”? Or would that spoil the fun, which I guess is the point? |
| 9:46 |
: Any smart, honest writer would be up front about the fact that there’s no way to know what’s going to happen. Predictions are a complete waste of time, made by complete wastes of time. |
| 9:48 |
: But, there are readers, and readers want material. People don’t want to read “welp”. People want stuff to digest, and writers have to provide what the people want, so the best other approach is identifying potential areas of significance and discussing them in depth. For example, we could talk about a Pirates/Reds one-game playoff, and we could talk about Liriano vs. Cincy’s LHBs. That’s a thing to know. Could be important! But there’s a big difference between knowing Liriano has pitched well against lefties, and knowing who’s going to win. We can talk about details while still shrugging our shoulders about the results |
| 9:48 |
: We’re going to have FanGraphs playoff series previews coming soon. Those are hard to write, specifically because we all know better. The challenge is finding just a little signal amidst all the noise |
| 9:48 |
If I had to guess where Joe Girardi ends up next year, I’d guess 50% Yankees, 30% Cubs and 20% to a surprise team. My surprise team would be the Nationals; I’m not sure if the Yankees could throw enough money at Girardi to go through what we may delicately call a few “seasons of adjustment” in NY. Concur? |
| 9:50 |
: More or less, yeah. I think the Yankees are going to try really hard to keep Girardi around, because he seems really good, but if he’s just tired of the headaches, he seems like the sort who’ll make a decision based on quality of life. It isn’t easy to be a manager anywhere, but the Yankees could be the roughest. |
| 9:50 |
: Girardi, as it happens, is one of the rare cases where I actually have an opinion on the manager of the year award. He really ought to win it for 2013. |
| 9:50 |
Should I start 2014 in AAA? Not putting up a .300 OBP is a problem of Olivo proportions. |
| 9:50 |
: You should, but you won’t |
| 9:51 |
Who wins their leagues Cy Young award by a longer margin: Scherzer or Kershaw? |
| 9:51 |
: Kershaw. Scherzer has fallen back to the pack a little bit |
| 9:51 |
Can you (or anybody) put into words what the Yankees offseason is going to look like? |
| 9:51 |
: Unsatisfying |
| 9:51 |
If Rivera/Chipper Jones went out like Breaking Bad, what player went out like Lost? |
| 9:51 |
: Griffey? I didn’t watch Lost. |
| 9:52 |
Are Jack Z and Dayton Moore on the same rebuilding plan timeline |
| 9:52 |
: So, so many parallels between the Mariners and the Royals |
| 9:52 |
I was in Portland for a day or so last week and ate at Ox, truly delicious. Did I choose wisely for my 1 dinner in Portland? |
| 9:52 |
: Very much so. Kudos, Tucker! |
| 9:52 |
If you are the A’s would you rather face the Tigers, Tampa, Cleveland, Tex |
| 9:52 |
: Probably Cleveland, because they’re probably the worst, but you could make an argument for Texas |
| 9:52 |
: Definitely not the Tigers |
| 9:53 |
Would you rather see Felix Hernandez learn the splitter, or not because of the pitch’s injury rep? I know his changeup already moves like one, but a proper splitter might be pretty neat. |
| 9:53 |
: Wouldn’t care for it. He has maybe the game’s best changeup so a splitter would do next to nothing for him |
| 9:53 |
: Teach a splitter to Maurer |
| 9:53 |
Is Joe Kelly’s style of pitching (using sinker to induce ground balls, good enough that Cards Fans should not worry about the difference between his ERA and FIP |
| 9:54 |
: Oh, no, they should worry |
| 9:54 |
At what point does a player’s platoon split become significant enough that he shouldn’t play every day? |
| 9:54 |
: Not for a few years, statistically, but it also depends on scouting input. And whether or not he’s making improvements |
| 9:55 |
I heard someone from baseball prospectus speculate that when a pitcher starts throwing about 1.5 MPH slower and is getting lit up, he has actually lost about 2.5 MPH and is overthrowing. This impacts his command and diminishes his performance until they adjust to their new velocity. Do you think there is anything to this and have you seen any evidence for it? |
| 9:55 |
: Has probably happened in cases, is probably not a good general rule of thumb, but I like the thought process there |
| 9:56 |
: Every case of diminished velocity should be examined on its own |
| 9:58 |
What teams you think will sign Brian McCann and Shin-Soo Choo |
| 9:58 |
: Red Sox…Rangers! I don’t know why the Rangers, but they feel good to me |
| 10:00 |
Rooting for a 3 way tie for the NL central. If the Reds and Pirates go 3-2 the rest of the way, while the Cards go 1-4, it’ll happen. What happens next? the three teams do a round robin to determine the NL central winner? while the 2 on the outside of that would play each other in the wild card game? |
| 10:00 |
| 10:00 |
: This all gets very complicated, which means I am rooting for it |
| 10:01 |
If you were managing the Marlins or Astros, would you troll statisticians everywhere for the hell of it by getting the opponent to bring in a late-season call-up and allowing him to go 1-for-1 with 501 IBBs? |
| 10:01 |
: No, I would not think of that. |
| 10:02 |
No love for the Pirates on the want them to win the WS category? Would make one hell of an awesome story. |
| 10:03 |
: I can see how people are out there rooting hard for the Pirates, but for me, it’s hard to separate Pirates fans from Steelers fans and Penguins fans. And I don’t care for the Steelers or Penguins. |
| 10:03 |
Thoughts on Texas’s Ron Washington sending Holland out there to complete a game that was over by the 6th? I couldn’t help but think he’d be better served by keeping Holland Fresh for the end of the week…. |
| 10:03 |
: Yeah, I don’t get stuff like that |
| 10:03 |
Bigger hockey or baseball fan? |
| 10:04 |
: Way smarter about baseball, way more emotionally invested in hockey, and that’s the way I likes it |
| 10:04 |
Probably not just yet, but if the Reds and/or Pirates are 2 games back going into the weekend, should they focus on getting ready for wild card game, or hope and play for a miracle? |
| 10:04 |
: They can simultaneously play hard while still getting lined up for one game |
| 10:05 |
Abraham Almonte. 4th OF or average regular? Every one mentions his big arm but his defensive numbers (in a small sample size) are lawn dartsy. |
| 10:05 |
: He’s probably a long-term fourth outfielder |
| 10:05 |
Has anyone figured out how Felix can keep his secondary pitches having the same speed/movement while losing FB velocity? |
| 10:06 |
: A lot of it is deliberately slowing down the fastball, but it is hilarious how close his fastball and changeup have gotten, considering the conventional wisdom about speed differentials |
| 10:06 |
Seems like a lot of media is upset at the Astros for their philosophy/plan but lot of executives are somewhat jealous of how Jeff Luhnow has handled it. What is your take on how the Astros have handled it and will go forward? |
| 10:07 |
: What good would it have done for the Astros to sign expensive veterans? They had to be completely and utterly hollowed out. There’ll be more legitimate questions if payroll doesn’t start rising soon, but they have to be given an opportunity to spend when it would actually make sense for them to spend |
| 10:08 |
: The Astros are an example of why a salary floor wouldn’t be a good idea |
| 10:08 |
has lomo officially busted? Three straight seasons of sub .250 averages and two straight with a sub .750 OPS |
| 10:08 |
: Presumably he will never be a star |
| 10:10 |
Who is the best young player that is being overlooked due to the Trout’s/Harvey’s/Harper’s/Machado’s/Fernandez’ of the world? |
| 10:10 |
: People are already taking Madison Bumgarner for granted |
| 10:10 |
: and it’s funny the way Harper almost comes off like a disappointment, considering what he’s accomplished |
| 10:11 |
Nats happy with Span or push for Ellsbury? |
| 10:11 |
: happy |
| 10:11 |
Did you read the article by Cameron on Cy Young and strength of schedule? Thoughts? |
| 10:12 |
: Yes, and it’s a good line of thinking, and it ought to be investigated in greater detail, beyond just team identity of opponent |
| 10:12 |
: It’s something I believe FG is working on developing |
| 10:12 |
: Quality of opposition can be hard to tease out, but it’s absolutely a factor we should all consider |
| 10:13 |
How does some like Pat Roessler (Director of Player Development for the Yankees since 2006 ) keep his job when no real young player has come up for the Yankees… |
| 10:13 |
: Ivan Nova’s not bad |
| 10:14 |
Considering there have been examples of pitchers with great specific pitches claiming to have learned them from a teammate, shouldn’t teams be more concerned with how those knowledge transfers occured and how to replicate them? I mean it could just be all on the second pitcher and the teacher really only taught the basics, but it seems like it could be meaningful. |
| 10:15 |
: What works for one guy might not work for another. These things are complicated. Pitchers are always talking, and pitchers are always experimenting. For every good pitch a guy learned from a teammate, there are probably handfuls of busted attempts. It’s really upt o each individual pitcher to develop his own weapons since you have to develop feel beyond just having a grip |
| 10:17 |
From that table why is an IF fly so much worse than a strikeout? |
| 10:18 |
: Probably a small sample of data |
| 10:18 |
The Royals were supposed to make the playoffs. That was trading Wil Myers was for. All in. Now the trade was about “playing meaningful baseball games in late September,” apparently. Has the media noticed the switcheroo? Or did everybody know it was a bad trade, but everybody is surprised at how it “almost” worked? (And Moore will keep his job, even though the playoff odds never passed 15% percent or so.) |
| 10:19 |
: I will say there’s a lot of value in playing meaningful September baseball. The playoffs can end in a hurry — these games are intense. Additionally, they traded for a two-year window, not a one-year window, so there’s still 2014 to go. But, yeah, Moore’s something of a moving target. Always has been. Still not a good trade |
| 10:19 |
Who wins the NL Central? |
| 10:19 |
: Easy! Cards |
| 10:19 |
Should the Orioles target a guy like Choo? They need a corner infielder and especially his OBP. |
| 10:20 |
: I think they should, but I doubt that they would |
| 10:20 |
If the Yankees are eliminated from the playoffs by Thursday, and depending on what part of the batting order is due up, should they bring in Mariano in the 8th to play CF in his home finale? |
| 10:21 |
: I would love it, for the ceremony, but you probably want Mariano to go out on the mound |
| 10:22 |
How long do you give it before Billy Hamilton attempts a straight steal of home? |
| 10:22 |
: 5/15/2014 |
| 10:22 |
Thoughts on James Paxton and Yordano Ventura for next year? |
| 10:22 |
: Electric, not as good as their pure stuff |
| 10:23 |
Given all the hoopla earlier in the season from some of the non-saber folks over the type of production Votto provides (lots of walks, fewer RBI), I found his line from last night quite enjoyable: 0-0 with 5 walks and an RBI that came from one of those walks. Can we all be happy about Votto now? |
| 10:23 |
: I intend to write about that very game! |
| 10:23 |
: Ryan Ludwick: 0-for-5, 10 LOB |
| 10:23 |
Wanting the A’s to win? Tell me at least you want the Reds to go to the World Series. They have to be the most interesting team out there. Votto best hitter, Chapman fastest pitcher, Choo best at getting plunked, and Dusty being Dusty. Like them or not they are the most interesting team left. |
| 10:24 |
: Holy hell you guys, a fan can root for whatever he wants. Fandom is a very individual, personal, subjective thing, and people can’t be convinced because it’s all based on emotion and individual perspective |
| 10:24 |
: But still, yeah, the Reds are pretty fascinating, and I like them more than most |
| 10:24 |
Skim, whole fat, 1%, or 2% milk? |
| 10:24 |
: 1%, because I’m a man who likes compromises |
| 10:24 |
: also I only use milk as an occasional ingredient and never just drink it |
| 10:25 |
Is there a good source for college baseball player stats? I am thinking of something like BaseballReference. |
| 10:25 |
: Is this still good? http://collegesplits.com/ |
| 10:25 |
Are walks the most underrated offensive category? |
| 10:25 |
: Probably still, yes |
| 10:25 |
You’re a Mariners fan, which means you’re a Seahawks fan, which means you’re a crazy conspiracy theorist. |
| 10:26 |
: No conspiracy, and I don’t really care about football that much anymore. That was just a poorly-reffed game, at the wrong time. MY RAGE IS JUSTIFIABLE |
| 10:26 |
Salary floor: worse idea than Tal’s Hill? |
| 10:26 |
: Worse idea. Tal’s Hill is hilarious |
| 10:27 |
: The flag pole, though, is bonkers |
| 10:27 |
Regarding Holland, I think it gets into the psychological side of things for him. Even when he had good results against the Rays, he didn’t look like he had at the beginning of the season. Especially with Holland, I think argument could be made he needed to build confidence. It’s impossible to quantify, but it’s one of those things where I can see where he’s coming from |
| 10:27 |
: I suspect this is what Washington was thinking. That there was more potential benefit for Holland than risk, especially given that he was cruising and didn’t need to go max effort |
| 10:27 |
So you think it’s desirable for a sport to consist solely of teams trying to win today and teams in no way trying to win today? If every team operated like the astros we’d have 15 teams trying and 15 teams phoning it for better picks, sounds like a really engaging sport to me… |
| 10:28 |
: What? Are there 15 teams out there like the Astros? The Astros were particularly, exceptionally bad. They were probably the only team at the time that should’ve been gutted. They were pretty much the only team that couldn’t concievably be turned into a winner quickly |
| 10:28 |
Are there any advanced hockey stats sites you recommend (besides behindthenet.ca)? |
| 10:29 |
: Just that one. I try to keep myself away from advanced hockey analysis because I get enough of that in this one sport |
| 10:29 |
Wait, Felix is deliberately slowing down his fastball? Why? |
| 10:29 |
: I think he’s both no longer capable of 98, and more aware of the value of his two-seamer over his four-seamer |
| 10:30 |
Who ya got Reds vs Pirates for the one-gamer? And where do yu think it’ll be? |
| 10:30 |
: Reds, Cincy |
| 10:30 |
Which active players will get the Chipper/Mariano treatment? |
| 10:31 |
: Jeter |
| 10:31 |
What’s the reason why some players (Like Cano) have huge UZR/DRS differences? |
| 10:31 |
: Could be a positioning thing but each case like this is different. Other, smarter people could provide better answers |
| 10:31 |
Is Taveras next years Myers? |
| 10:32 |
: Not this good |
| 10:32 |
Hm. Many, many Pirates fans do not care for Steelers/Penguins fans — myself included — so perhaps you’d like to come aboard? |
| 10:33 |
: Penguins wounds are still too fresh. It’s just Pittsburgh, man. I’m sorry. Can’t do anything about it. |
| 10:33 |
Ducks or Beavers? |

Favorite ‘old fashioned’ ball park food? Favorite ‘new age’ ballpark food? |

What was your inspiration behind your career choice? Also, do you have any regrets about it? |
| 10:36 |
: Started writing because I liked 2000-era BPs, and I had time, and I didn’t love the college atmosphere. Asked for a full-time job when moving states for a different reason, leaving behind chemistry. Figured this is probably what I’m best at. I have the same questions as everyone, regarding whether this is the right direction. Absolutely no way to know, and it’s paralyzing to think about the long term. |
| 10:37 |
: I don’t know what this job might look like in five years. Going to be weird if/when teams all have way, way better numbers than we do on the outside. |

Is Nick Franklin the greatest hitter of all time? |
| 10:37 |
: No |

Are you rooting against any AL or NL playoff teams or are you just rooting for certain teams? |
| 10:38 |
: I’m not rooting against anybody in particular, but I err toward preferring what’s fresh. |
| 10:38 |
: Okay, I’ve got writing to do in advance of a company conference call. Gotta shut this down |
| 10:39 |
: Thank you everybody for coming by, I’m sorry for what I didn’t or couldn’t address, and we’ll do this again…well I don’t know what it’s going to look like after the regular season. We’ll do this again, sometime, somehow! Playoffs are coming! Until next time, have great days |

Are you sure? |
| 10:39 |
: Yes |
Jeff made Lookout Landing a thing, but he does not still write there about the Mariners. He does write here, sometimes about the Mariners, but usually not.
Keep 4: Choo, Puig, Werth, Harvey, Cashner, Cingrani (10 team 5×5 roto with QS not W)
(Werth said he changed his approach—does that make him keepable?)
Sorry all, meant to post in chat winow…but reader replies appreciated, too. Thanks.
I’d keep Choo, Cashner, and Cingrani. Drop everyone else because alliteration.
