Leaderboard Filters!

You can now filter your results on the FanGraphs leaderboards!

For instance, if you’re looking at the career leaderboards and you want to know which players had a career .300/.400/.500 slash line, this is now possible.

This also works out great for comparisons. For instance, here’s a single season list of starting pitchers since 1990 who had peripherals similar to Stephen Strasburg.

The filter feature allows for lots of flexibility and even more complex filters.

For the moment we didn’t include every stat we have and just some of the more common ones, but if there are stats you feel you must be able to filter on, let us know and we’ll try and add them to the list.

Just put a number column on the left so we don’t have to count to find out the player with the 15th highest WAR. You should do that before you add any other features. Adding numbers has to be easier than creating filters.

Great! Can we expect to see custom calculations, custom queries, and custom saved leader board profiles any time soon?

Any chance of this functionality making it’s way to the otteneu leaderboards page as well (along with the age based filter)?

Swinging strike percentage for pitchers would be an awesome one for now.

It’s under the Plate Discipline tab.

The Strasburg List was a fun link…reminding just how unbelievably incredibly stupendous Pedro Martinez’ 1999 season was. Has there ever been a better individual season by anyone at any position?

I’d probably argue Bonds’ ’01, ’02, or ’04 seasons are on par. Maybe. I dunno, that ’99 season was incredible.

Why, so Harold Reynolds can find his comparison subjects more efficiently?

I guess it depends on what everyone else thinks, but what either HR/FB or HR/9?

Proof of what I’ve been telling my coworkers. Not sustainable.

By the way, it appears trying to add the BB/K filter breaks it. I haven’t been able to get a search containing that parameter to work.

Wow I just discovered this. Any reason why there aren’t any counting stat filters? Like – players with at least 30 home runs and 49 stolen bases and an average over .315? It’s entirely possible that I’m just missing something…

I’d love Contact% and more counting stats. For example, I’d love to see HR, SB, RBIs.
