Arizona Fall League
Arizona Fall League Action
This is the time in the show when we look at Arizona Fall League action.

Notable Performances
Here are two notable (pitching!) performances from Tuesday’s AFL games:

• Dodger minor-leaguer, 25-year-old Stephen Fife — part of the deal that ultimately sent Trayvon Robinson to Seattle and Erik Bedard to Boston — pitched 3.2 innings Tuesday, struck out six of the 18 batters he faced, and got his other five outs via the ground ball. The six hits and four runs are of minimal concern: Fife’s counts as a dominant start by AFL standard.
• Cleveland minor-leaguer, 22-year-old T.J. Mcfarland, was less dominant than Fife, but still pitched well by AFL standards. His line from Tuesday: 3.1 IP, 15 TBF, 3 K, 1 BB, 4 GO, 1 FO. McFarland now has six strikeouts, one walk, and no home runs allowed in 6.1 innings.

Other Winter Leagues
Mexican Pacific League Action
The Mexcan Pacific League (or, technically, Liga Mexicana del Pacifico) started Tuesday.

Notable Performances
In terms of MPL (or, technically, LMP) action, here are two notable performances from Tuesday night:

• Mexican League (a different thing than the Mexican Pacific League) home-run leader Jorge Guzman, 27, hit a home run. Guzman had 39 home runs during the regular season in Mexico, beating out semi-familiar names like Luis Terrero, Victor Diaz, and Ruben Rivera.
Marco Duarte, who finished among the Mexican League leaders in strikeout percentage and also featured a 2.04 GO/AO — which is probably something like a 51% ground-ball rate — did this last night: 6.0 IP, 20 TBF, 4 K, 0 BB, 8 GO, 3 FO.

The Pacific Coach League must feature a lot of pulled groins. I’m sure some teams might struggle to find enough OF candidates, because not everyone can play 1B.

Pfft. I don’t get out of Social Studies until 3:30, and Mr. Rooney isn’t the sort to fall for that telephone stunt again.
