Player Pages: Glossary Tooltips & Leaderboard Linking

The player pages now have some some additional usability features.

– You can now hover over any stat header and get the definition of the stat. This will soon make its way to all sections of the site.

– Seasons, Teams, and Positions are now linked back to the leaderboards. For instance if you are perusing Mike Trout’s page and you click on the Angels link in his 2011 season, it will bring you to the 2011 Angels leaderboards for the corresponding section.

If you clicked on the link in the Standard section, it will bring you to the Standard leaderboards. And if you clicked on the link in the Plate Discipline section, it will take you to the Plate Discipline leaderboards.

Clicking on a player’s Total link will take you to the leaderboards that encompass that player’s career. Mike Trout will show you leaderboards for 2011 to 2012, while clicking on, let’s say, Pedro Martinez’s Total link will take you to leaderboards for 1992 through 2009.

Clicking on a player’s fielding position in the fielding sections will take you to the the leaderboards for that position only and works just like the season links or team links.
