Dan Szymborski FanGraphs Chat – 5/24/17

2:01
Dan Szymborski: It’s party time! A very disappointing party, with reading text instead of beer.

2:01
The Average Sports Fan: How do you feel about the 70’s Earl Weaver approach to developing young pitchers in the bullpen before putting them in the rotation?

2:02
Dan Szymborski: I think it’s a good approach. It gets pitchers comfortable in the majors in lower-key situations (presuming you choose those). It saves some innings.

2:02
Tim: Is Starlin Castro under rated?

2:02
Dan Szymborski: Nah, he’s about rated.

2:03
Rusty: What is happening to Julio Urias? He did not look very sharp in his first go-around this year.

2:04
Dan Szymborski: It’s hard to say. His stuff looks fine to me, but he seems to be very hittable in the strike zone so far.

2:04
James: Final numbers for Yonder Alonso this year and does he keep it up next year?

2:04
Dan Szymborski: He’ll probably beat the ZiPS. He’s legitimately overhauled his swing to a degree that’s fairly unusual.

2:04
Dan Szymborski: Keep *this* up? No. But I’m comfortable calling him a good player where I certainly would not have this winter.

2:06
Michael Conforto: Who am I a good comparable to in terms of my opposite field power?

2:06
Dan Szymborski: Braun?

2:06
Dan: Did you now, or have you ever, personally hindered Jinder?

2:06
Dan Szymborski: I have not.

2:06
David Wright: Am I the Met’s next manager?

2:06
Dan Szymborski: Probably not.

2:07
Matt: Hi Dan. I missed you.

2:07
Dan Szymborski: I’m on Twitter too!

2:07
Ray Liotta as Shoeless Joe: In a hypothetical Space Jam for baseball, nine players would the MonStar team siphon for skills? And what manager?

2:07
Ray Liotta as Shoeless Joe: In a hypothetical Space Jam for baseball, which baseball player would be the Shawn Bradley–chosen for whatever reason for ‘skill’ while not contributing at all in any sense besides being the fifth player? I’m thinking Brock Holt.

2:07
Ray Liotta as Shoeless Joe: In a hypothetical Space Jam for baseball, what retired baseball hero would save our planet from the MonStars? Would he even be good enough to play at a high level?

2:07
Dan Szymborski: That’s a lot of questions.

2:07
Dan Szymborski: I think you’d want to take Thames’s muscles.

2:07
Dan Szymborski: Hamilton’s speed

2:08
Dan Szymborski: Kershaw’s curve

2:08
Dan Szymborski: Syndergaard’s flowing blonde mane

2:09
Dan Szymborski: The one not contributing? Let’s say an overrated white dude who kept getting jobs. Ryan Theriot? Jeff Francoeur?

2:09
Sandy Alderson: With the team playing a bit better, the wild card up for grabs, and Cespedes returning soon, does my team have a run in them?

2:09
Dan Szymborski: They do, but it’s going to be tough – the league is fairly bifurcated win-wise and they’re on the bad end so far

2:10
Boss Man: Anything concerning that Anthony Rendon has more than half of all his stats in two games this year?

2:11
Dan Szymborski: If you only count homers.

2:11
Dan Szymborski: I’m not sure it’s really that concerning.

2:11
Dan Szymborski: 7/42 is the max for him, after all.

2:12
Dan Szymborski: I’ve never seen anything that would lead me to really care that much.

2:12
: which potentially-available SPs make the most sense for each of the Cubs, Yankees, and Astros?

2:12
Dan Szymborski: The trade market isn’t really that great yet.

2:12
Dan Szymborski: Some of the teams would theoretically be receptive are still competing, after all.

2:13
Dan Szymborski: It’s not a great environment to want to pick up a pitcher (though it’s never *great*)

2:13
Dan Szymborski: Which is why so many teams were interested in Fister.

2:13
Dan Szymborski: I’m not sure the Quintana price is at where anyone’s going to bite.

2:14
Mr. T: At one point can we determine that the Byron Buxton experiment at the major league level has failed and he needs to go back to the minors to work on plate discipline? All-Star Break? End of the season? Now?

2:14
Dan Szymborski: At some point, he’s going to have to learn to work through offensive slumps in the majors

2:15
Los: Is there any point in the season where current year performance out-predicts pre-season forecasts? Obviously a blend is better but if my choices were one or the other which is a better predictor.

2:15
Dan Szymborski: I still have the previous years slightly outweighting the most recent one at most.

2:15
A Mob of Screaming Girls: Oh my God, it’s Dan Szymborski *SQUEEEEEEEEEEE*

2:15
Dan Szymborski: Lies

2:15
Eric Blair: What would the Jays get for Donaldson if Boston and NY bid on him, assuming JD is in good health and playing to his usual standards?

2:15
Dan Szymborski: Quite a bit. The key is always the willingness.

2:15
AD: Has there ever been a study in the WAR of managers? I feel like it would be tough to evaluate, but it would be cool to see how much some managers (like Bochy and Showalter) are worth compared to their counterparts (Collins and Yost)

2:16
Dan Szymborski: Not explicitly WAR, that’s a little difficult to do with something like managing

2:16
Dan Szymborski: Chris Jaffe’s Evaluating Baseball Managers is about as good as you can find

2:16
Mr George Washington: Good Morningtime, My name is Mister George Washington and I have very big special offer for your time. Please answer to be entering into our giveaway. What is your favorite type of mustard?

2:17
Dan Szymborski: I don’t know, mustard seasoned with Thomas Gage’s tears?

2:17
Dan Szymborski: I’m not sure I follow this.

2:17
Eli: Does Peacock deserve another turn in the Astros rotation?

2:17
Eli: How many Astros hitters finish with 10 or more HRs?

2:17
Dan Szymborski: I think so.

2:18
Dan Szymborski: Hmm, all of them?

2:18
Dan Szymborski: 10?

2:18
The Gary Sanchez Experience: Carlos Rodon anything to get excited about now that the rehab process has begun?

2:19
Dan Szymborski: I’m a big fan of Rodon, but it’s going to come down to how healthy he is

2:19
Wigwam: What kind of prospect can the Padres get for Brad Hand? In the 50 – 100 top prospect range?

2:19
Dan Szymborski: That’s a bit aggressive.

2:19
Dan Szymborski: If the Padres could get that, t hey already would have, I think.

2:20
RotoLando: Does Tyler Glasnow have anything to be happy about this year?

2:20
Dan Szymborski: No visits to James Andrews?

2:20
Fat Albert: This sounds weird – drop Pujols for Tommy Joseph or Max Kepler?

2:20
Dan Szymborski: Pujols is droppable.

2:22
Scruffy-Looking Nerf Hurler: Are you buying the hitter Jake Lamb has become? I feel like he’s doing really well and not that talked about.

2:22
Dan Szymborski: I think the BA come down, but he’s continually improved his discipline at the plate and it’s getting super dangerous to throw him a fastball.

2:22
RotoLando: The stupid DH-less National League is robbing mankind of the glory of Jesus Aguilar.

2:22
Eli: Should we start tempering our expectations for Quintana?

2:23
Dan Szymborski: He’s been pitching better than he was at the start of the season. I am concerned about the uptick in walk rate.

2:24
Dan Szymborski: I’m not sure the White Sox will ever get more for Quintana they may hae this winter. I still think that was the ideal market.

2:24
fyi: Carson Cistulli has just published a book of aphorisms called Spirited Ejaculations of a New Enthusiast.

2:24
Jorbles: Is Szym in the baseball Discord chat really you?

2:24
Dan Szymborski: Yes

2:24
RayJay: Who’s 2nd in line for saves in SD? Also, suggest a date when Nate Jones takes over in Chicago, please.

2:24
Dan Szymborski: Do they win enough games to form a queue?

2:24
Mmm Bacon: Is it at all possible Votto is traded to a contender this summer?

2:24
Dan Szymborski: No

2:24
Kyle: Trade questions in May are probably annoying, but I’m only asking because I have zero sense of the market for starting pitchers right now. What would you say is an approximate SP the Cubs could get for a package built around Eloy Jimenez and Jeimer Candelario.

2:24
Dan Szymborski: I think this is a tricky question beacuse there aren’t a ton of sellers right now.

2:24
RotoLando: Why is it that when I stream garbage pitchers every day, I get accused of tanking, and when The Angels do it, they end up in 3rd place?

2:24
Dan Szymborski: Do you have Mike Trout?

2:25
Matt: How does one read beer?

2:25
Dan Szymborski: Wouldn’t YOU like to now.

2:25
Dan Szymborski: Oh, I haven’t chatted since this, so here’s my tribute to Rougned Odor from the Bautista anniversary.

2:25
Dan Szymborski: Hmm, that didn’t work

2:26
Dan Szymborski:

For the anniversary of the Rougned Odor/Jose Bautista fight, here's my Virtual Tribute to Rougned Odor. #Rangers #Rougned pic.twitter.com/I8WYxAxpwj</p… Dan Szymborski (@DSzymborski) <a href=”

Dan Szymborski: I’m not sure how to do that on Jotcast

2:27
Dan Szymborski: Here’s the link if that doesn’t work.

2:28
c: russell martin is playing 3B quite a bit this year and he doesn’t look half bad!

2:28
Dan Szymborski: He’s played it before. Wasn’t he drafted as one? It’s been awhile.

2:28
Big Joey: Do you think we see a top 30 SP Urias in the 2nd half?

2:29
Dan Szymborski: Top 30? That’s a little much. There will be growing pains.

2:29
Will: Would you prioritize salary shedding or prospect return in potential trades of Matt Kemp and Nick Markakis if you were the Braves?

2:29
Dan Szymborski: You might actually get prospects for them now, especially Kemp from an AL team.

2:29
Dan Szymborski: Alwyas take prospects over cash. There’s no limit on how much money you make, but there are ceilings on how many prospects you can sign.

2:29
Jered Weaver: am I done in the bigs? 🙁

2:30
Dan Szymborski: I’d sign Jeff first.

2:30
Ben: Who’s your favorite player if you had to choose one to follow every day, not named Trout or Harper

2:30
Dan Szymborski: Machado!

2:30
Caveman Jones: How do you think ZiPS might adjust Devers’ projection after his hot start in Portland? Cameron seems to think he’s the answer to the Red Sox 3B problems, but I’m not so sure. Your thoughts?

2:31
Dan Szymborski: It’s not like he’d be displacing anyone good. I think the Red Sox were hoping he’d make them a tough decision.

2:31
Gerard: Do you hate the White Sox more, less or an equal amount as Keith Law?

2:31
Dan Szymborski: Probably less at the moment. He’s been getting a lot of heat for suggesting there’s some risk in Robert.

2:32
Dan Szymborski: Which of course there is. If there was no risk, the winning bid would have been a lot more.

2:32
A-Vi-P: Avi Garcia legit all-star?

2:32
Dan Szymborski: True ability? Not there yet. But if he keeps hitting like this, he’ll deserve it.

2:32
Gerard: What former 1-time MVP is the best comp for Jinder Mahal

2:33
Dan Szymborski: I dunno. Don Baylor?

2:33
Matt: In a hypothetical Space Jam for baseball, 1) Strawberry, raspberry, or some other, undiscovered space-berry, and 2) what does baseball have to do with jam from space?

2:33
Mmm Bacon: Berrios looking good so far today, is he a legit potential ace for the suprising 1st place Twins and how does he change the way they approach the trade market, if at all?

2:34
Dan Szymborski: I think he has a lot of upside. I told people not to panic about last year.

2:34
hscer: fundamental flaw in the premise of the 3rd Baseball Space Jam question: no one baseball player can affect a game nearly as much as a basketball player

2:34
hscer: why is jotcast a memory whore?

2:34
Dan Szymborski: You’d have to ask the developers!

2:34
A-Vi-P: Should the White Sox do retro jerseys next week when sale returns?

2:34
Dan Szymborski: They should do the worst ones ever.

2:34
ohioastrosfan: While Houston is performing quite well, the stars haven’t blown me away. Altuve at 1.4 WAR and Correa at 1.3 are leading, and that I would think is below where they could/should be. Should they perform better than this as the season goes on?

2:34
Dan Szymborski: They coudl. Let’s not be too greedy about a team winning two-thirds of their games.

2:35
Matt: Dan, you have two choices. Option 1 is that you can run for president – but you are guaranteed to win, and have to serve two full terms. Option 2 is that you have to run everywhere you would currently travel via foot for the rest of your life (and you can’t cheat the system by just buying one of those fat people wheechairs). Which one do you pick?

2:35
Dan Szymborski: I think I would take Option 1.

2:35
Dan Szymborski: And punish the country for their foolishness.

2:35
Paulie Walnuts: If Headley’s June looks like Headley’s May, will we see Gleyber in July?

2:35
Dan Szymborski: Probably not

2:35
Steven Matz: I got carpal tunnel syndrome typing this.

2:35
hscer: Bradley did have a basketball skill he was excellent at; he averaged 4 blocks per 36 minutes in his career. Gheorghe Muresan only managed 2.4

2:36
Matt: If given the options between a) a pitcher or b) a belly-itcher, what do you choose, Dan?

2:36
Dan Szymborski: You can get a lot of prospects for a pitcher. Never seen any for a belly pitcher.

2:36
Mike Honcho: Thoughts on Joe Ross. I’d like him a lot better with a decent Nat bullpen.

2:36
Dan Szymborski: People panic too quickly.

2:36
Dan Szymborski: Or

2:36
Dan Szymborski: April.

2:37
C. Stone: How much longer can Trey Mancini’s bat overcome is problems in OF? (Are you seeing this crap today?)

2:37
Dan Szymborski: I’ve actually got Blue Jays/Brewers on my biggest screen and I haven’t been paying super attention since I had a couple radio hits and then chat

2:37
Paulie Walnuts: Byron Buxton’s defense makes him an asset on a first place team. He’s not getting sent down.

2:37
CarrotJuice: Sano’s .472 BABIP: sustainable or super sustainable?

2:38
Dan Szymborski: FALSE QUESTION

2:38
CarrotJuice: Over/Under 31 days this May?

2:38
Dan Szymborski: Under. There are 7 and a little less than half left.

2:38
Matt: Does Mike Trout end his career with a better war than Sun Tzu?

2:38
Dan Szymborski: Did David give all of you guys cocaine during his chat?

2:38
Anon: Barry Bonds’ wRC+ in 2017 would be ______.

2:39
Dan Szymborski: calculated in the same manners as that of other players.

2:39
Keith Hernandez: This might be more of an Eric question, but do you think Brendan McKay will be more of a John Olerud or Danny Hultzen?

2:40
Dan Szymborski: If the Twins take him, I’m sure they go pitcher.

2:40
CarrotJuice: The Cubs underperforming expectations is a really nostalgic feeling for me, seeing as I came of age as a baseball fan in the 2004 season.

2:40
Paulie Walnuts: What is your favorite fruit to eat cooked? Raw?

2:40
Dan Szymborski: Grilled peaches?

2:40
Dan Szymborski: Raw: blackberries

2:40
Anon: Which team has the best 10 year outlook?

2:40
Dan Szymborski: Still Cubs

2:41
Jack Twist: I wish I knew how to quit you.

2:41
Guest: With the Astros reportedly looking for another SP and Gurriel being pretty bad, does a Quintana/Abreu package make the most sense for both sides or would the level of prospect talent that would cost for the Astros not be worth the return?

2:41
Dan Szymborski: The Astros have balked at the asking price before.

2:41
Dan Szymborski: The thing is, I’m not sure the Astros are incentivized to be very aggressive for a starter unless they start to worry about McHugh later.

2:42
Dan Szymborski: With a healthy McHugh, the Astros don’t have a postseason worry, so it woudl come down to a divisional worry

2:42
Dan Szymborski: And right now, there’s no particular reason to be worried

2:43
Dan Szymborski: They’ve got a seven game lead with no McHugh and Fiers playing Home Run Derby

2:43
Qwerty: Yasmany Tomas is very weird. Is he good, is he bad? I don’t know.

2:43
Dan Szymborski: Mediocre and always overrated.

2:43
Moltar: Szymbors-gate or Szymbor-ghazi?

2:44
Dan Szymborski: Dan is not controversial enough for one of those.

2:44
Dan Szymborski: Szymbanalia?

2:44
Frank Reynolds: Can you think of a more pleasant evening than having a romantic spaghetti dinner with Carson Cistulli where he regales you with tales of his adolescence?

2:45
Dan Szymborski: Returning Double C to the elder gods.

2:45
Eric: The Twins came into the season “rebuilding” and are surprising most everyone. Are we getting to the point (June 1) where they’re no longer considered rebuilding and should change their strategy to buyers?

2:45
Dan Szymborski: I don’t think they ought to be there yet.

2:45
Bill Nye is not a Scientist: Would Trout + an elite bullpen + a bunch of scrubs (i.e. the current Angels team plus an elite bullpen) be a contender or at least playoff team?

2:45
Dan Szymborski: Mildly interesting. There aren’t any juggernaut teams.

2:45
Joe: Orioles are in trouble, aren’t they?

2:45
Dan Szymborski: The depth of the rotation frightens me.

2:46
Dan Szymborski: And despite reputation, they’re a very ordinary offensive team.

2:47
Frank Reynolds: Hey Danny! Did you see Stro-show’s oppo taco? When was the last time a sub 6’0 pitcher went oppo-dong?

2:47
Dan Szymborski: I don’t know what half these words mean.

2:47
Dan Szymborski: But stroman’s hit out to right against the Braves was pretty sweet.

2:47
Bill Nye is not a Scientist: Why do you do Fangraphs chats? You don’t even go here.

2:47
Dan Szymborski: I’m here!

2:48
James: Is Lindors power surge sustainable? I mean he’s not gonna keep up that ISO but is he a 20-25 HR guy from now on as opposed to the 10-15?

2:48
Dan Szymborski: He was doing well at barrels last check. Remember, he’s still a young player.

2:48
Joe: How many weekends in a row do we have to hear that this maybe the weekend Donaldson returns? Im done being charlie brown here

2:48
Dan Szymborski: Charlie Brown’s team would have won if they had Donaldson as a ringer.

2:49
Dan Szymborski: On the real side, the Jays don’t want him back in the lineup until they know the calf is no longer an issue.

2:49
Josh R: Matt Kemp took a tremendous beating around FanGraphs in 2016 (deservedly so). Care to say anything nice about him this year?

2:49
Dan Szymborski: He’s had a really good offensive year so far.

2:50
Dan Szymborski: Stilla wful defensively.

2:50
Dan Szymborski: And if you think he’s a .400 BABIP guy for real, well, bless your heart!

2:50
hscer: was 1997 a good year for star pitchers, I can’t tell lol http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=y&…

2:50
Jeremy: Everything equal, would you prefer 2 craft beers or 8 macro beers?

2:50
Dan Szymborski: 2 good ones.

2:50
Dan Szymborski: I can’t drink anywhere near the alcohol that I used to, so I want to make it count.

2:50
Moltar: I mean, Brian LaHair was once an all star. Start off the season hot and anybody could do it, even Avi Garcia!

2:51
Quincy Carter: If Mike Trout somehow became a free agent in the near future, what’s the chance he could demand a 1 Billion dollar contract?

2:51
Dan Szymborski: He can demand whatever he wants. But a billion isn’t going to be gotten.

2:51
hscer: actually jotcast turns out to be ok, it’s when it tries to work w/fangraphs that we start talking gigs of ram

2:51
PD: Since you can get designer jeans with rips, shouldn’t the White Sox do a Sale tribute with ripped designer baseball jerseys?

2:51
Dan Szymborski: That would have been fun when he was on the team.

2:51
RotoLando: In a hypothetical Space Jam for baseball, would you ever go out in public wearing a Looney Tunes leather jacket?

2:52
Dan Szymborski: Why not?

2:52
Dan Szymborski: I’ve worn a blazer over a t-shirt with this image.

2:52
Jerry: Are the Mariners sellers at the deadline? Do they rebuild or retool at this point?

2:52
Dan Szymborski: I think they’re treaders.

2:53
Dan Szymborski: Not Dawn Treaders.

2:53
Hungry: Dan, I have a bunch of ground beef that expires tomorrow. Any recipe ideas?

2:53
Dan Szymborski: Pastitsio

2:53
hscer: I dropped Ross when they demoted him. no one grabbed him, I got him back for 1 faab the day before yesterday, and i’m happy

2:54
Matt: I think it’s time the chauvinistic Orioles cut ties with Mancini in favor of Womancini.

2:54
RotoLando: Tiger Woods says he is pain free after having spinal fusion surgery, which means Tiger Woods is on a LOT of drugs.

2:54
Scott of Linconshire: If you could go back in time with the knowledge you have now about baseball, think you could turn your 18 year old self into a MLB baseball player in the 1960’s ?

2:54
Dan Szymborski: No

2:54
Dan Szymborski: I still just throw 70

2:54
Carson Cistulli: Noted baseballer and muscular young man, Eric Thames, has but a 102 wRc+ since May 1st! How concerned are you? Insofar, that one can be concerned with matters as ultimately meaningless as baseball statistics

2:55
Dan Szymborski: I’m not. Mostly because I didn’t ever believe he was an MVP type, just a really really awesome HR who was a great pickup by the Brewers

2:55
Danny: Which catcher would you feel most comfortable moving to CF?

2:56
Dan Szymborski: Austin Barnes?

2:56
RotoLando: Dan, have you ever considered being a paid shill? It’s easy! Just put some copper into a common article of clothing, and says it helped reverse your osteoporosis. Then brag about your coppery bone density !

2:56
Dan Szymborski: We’re all shills.

2:57
Matt: I was in Dave’s chat earlier, but did not receive said cocaine. I feel like I might have missed out. Is there a form on the site I can fill out to be indemnified?

2:57
Bill Nye is not a Scientist: blackberries are good, but you should really try the Champagne Mango. Much better than a regular Mango.

2:57
Hannah Hochevar: Was told Jorge Soler will never learn to hit a breaking ball. On the one hand, I’m a teacher, so I believe in the power to learn. On the other hand, I myself can’t hit a breaking ball. What do you think of Soler’s future?

2:57
Dan Szymborski: I think there’s talent, but a ton of risk.

2:57
Ray Liotta as Shoeless Joe: @hscer re: Space Jam flaws: Yeah, but you also have the Tasmanian Devil’s wicked spin rate and Wile E. Coyote’s cannon in the outfield, so it isn’t like Barry Bonds or Alex Rodriguez need to single-handedly beat the MonStars.

2:57
PD: If you could erase a memory ala “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” what would it be?

2:57
Dan Szymborski: The time I got clicked an image for blue waffles.

2:57
Anon: When did you first develop zips? I first saw it at baseballprimer in 2001.

2:58
Dan Szymborski: I didn’t have it yet then. 2002.

2:58
RetireHurdle: What the heck happened to McCutchen so quickly?

2:58
Dan Szymborski: I don’t know, he just looks OLD out there.

2:58
Dan Szymborski: I’m starting to think that Starling Marte has a painting of McCutchen in his house that’s aging rapidly and MLB had a very specific test for that.

2:59
Dylan: Is Almedys Diaz really this bad of a player?

2:59
Dan Szymborski: He’s never going to be Mr. Scientific at the plate.

2:59
Dan Szymborski: But he’s been playing somehwat better.

2:59
El Guapo: I think people using the phrase “massive dong” referring to a home run are weird.

2:59
Dan Szymborski: But it makes some statements deliciously awkward.

2:59
RotoLando: can you give us a brief opinion of The Tampa Bay Rays?

2:59
Dan Szymborski: They are a baseball team with a squadron of 25 baseball men.

2:59
Neal Huntington: Hey do you know of any elixirs that can help a former 6-WAR CF stop being replacement level? Asking for a friend…

3:00
Dan Szymborski: See what the hell Jason Vargas is injecting into his changeups.

3:00
Joe: If Mike Trout spent an entire year in the PCL, what would his numbers look like?

3:00
Dan Szymborski: All of them.

3:00
Dan Szymborski: They’d have to retire the concept of numbers.

3:00
Dan Szymborski: And the PCL’s stats would be represented in Wingdings.

3:01
Dan Szymborski: Which would be bad for me because I don’t know how to translate those to the majors.

3:01
Matt Harvey’s Fastball: My face hurts.

3:01
YKnotDisco?!: This Neil Young lyric made me think of JF16: Twenty four
and there’s so much more
Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two.

guitar_davey: My Jays are hanging in there with pretty much everybody hurt (that Goins grand slam helped immensely!). Can they realistically get back into this thing when they get healthy?

3:01
Dan Szymborski: THey can, but the hole is significant. Being behind the four teams is a bigger deal than the games behind.

3:01
Bork: We’re not all shills. I take offense to that as I enjoy my Reese Peanut Butter Oh Henry!

3:02
Dan Szymborski: I saw an image of a cheeseburger served between two reese’s peanut butter cups recently

3:03
ChicagoCardinal: Berrios 3HR on 4H, he’s gonna be as frustrating as Pineda isn’t he?

3:03
Dan Szymborski: Nobody is as frustrating as Pineda.

3:03
YKnotDisco?!: Maybe McCutcheon needs Lasik?

3:04
Dan Szymborski: Given how he’s played, he might need Lasix

3:04
Matt: Does it ever amaze you that gravy, which started off as a topping for meat and potatoes has morphed itself into the nation’s favorite leisure-time drink?

3:04
Bork en Espanol: Re: Reese’s cheesburger — How is that even possible? Wouldn’t the meat melt the Reese’s cups into an untenable mess?

3:04
Dan Szymborski: I’ll find the picture! Hold on

3:05
Dan Szymborski: Here’s another weird one.

3:05
Dan Szymborski:

3:05
Dan Szymborski:

3:06
Dan Szymborski: On that disgusting note, I bid you all a fond adieu for this week.

3:06
Dan Szymborski: Thanks for coming everyone! You can read my work at ESPN.com, chats and projections here at FanGraphs, and at DSzymborski on Twitter.

3:06
Dan Szymborski: And sometimes on your local radio but since I don’t know where each of you live, I can’t be more specific than that.

3:07
Dan Szymborski: But there’s always a chance i will totally ruin your drive home.

Dan, thought I’d throw out an article idea on Adam Frazier. Killing it in leadoff for Pirates and just had a crazy statline tonight. 2 for 2 with a HR 3 runs, 3 rbi … and 4 walks. I’d love to see a breakdown of what he is doing right and whether it points to him being for real.
