I know they probably don’t want to, but the only practical way to get them all atbats is to kind of have a Choo/Pence/Gallo rotation, with one of them serving as a Mazara backup as well and sneaking Gallo some CF starts

Psweeting: When you look at zips projections, does it model all players as a bell curve? I can imagine Jose Ramirez as having two peaks, where he’s either meh again or an MVP candidate again, but maybe lower probably of him being average.

kd: Unless I am way off, why isn’t Palka up for the CWS and playing DH against right-handed pitching?  Or, at worst, playing an outfield spot against right-handed pitching.   I think it is safe to say that he has his timing back at AAA (over .900 OPS in 250 at bats).

jim: What do you think of Eloy so far this season? His numbers look good since returning from IL.

Dan Szymborski: I think he’s been fine, the problem is defensively. I’d have to check to verify (I hadn’t thought about it), but it feels like he’s been too aggressive first pitch-wise.

jim: Are you becoming far less impressed by rookies doing well with people like Riley, Alonso, Alvarez, Tatis, etc all mashing out of the gate this year & Acuna, Soto, Judge, etc in the past couple years?
If so, what does that say about Vlad’s disappointing rookie season so far (if anything)

Dan Szymborski: I haven’t been jaded. Well, on this.

cpins: Does 17 blown saves mean the Mets could be a WC player if they found 1-2 answers for the pen or is it just wishing on clouds?

Dan Szymborski: Well, one, you don’t get those back. Two, teams blow a lot of saves (and win some of those games too)

v2micca: Given the recent SCOTUS ruling on Iancu v. Brunetti that completely repudiates the Lanham Act, is there any remaining legal standing to deny Teams like Cleveland in the MLB and Washington in the NFL their legal trademarks despite how distasteful we might find them?

Dan Szymborski: I’m not a lawyer, so I can’t give an answer for this, you might want to hit up Sheryl or Craig Calculator or Eugene Freedman.

Dan Szymborski: But just speaking for me, while I don’t like the logos, I think the Lanham Act is garbage on this and the just way to get rid of those logos isn’t playing trademark law games with them.
