Eno Sarris: Samardzija, let me get out in front of this one. By Zimmerman’s spread sheet, he’s the same. Brooks has him at 94, which is 93, which is down a bit. I’ve been watching and have only seen 92s. Which might have been cutters, I guess, but even if they were cutters, that sucks, because his cutter sucks and he got whooped last year.

Lefty, change-first, good command, velocity coming back… Cole Hamels is the very best he can be. I know there are people that say that Conley is a reliever, so that’s your basement. A lefty Ian Kennedy is an interesting in between, but I believe in Conley’s velocity coming back.

Eno Sarris: You have to define Pollock first. He was an okay right-handed prospect that was defense first and figured something out against righty pitchers to be better than expected. That’s actually super rare and I wouldn’t call for it to happen again.

jtt: Eno, why do you think left handed hitters are so bad against lefties? One theory I always hear is that kids don’t face enough lefties when they are younger. If that is the case, should natural lefties learn to hit right handed at a young age?

Eno Sarris: One other theory, and I think it makes a lot of sense, is that it’s just hard to see the lefty release point with two eyes as a lefty. You see guys like Adam LaRoche opening up to look straight at the pitcher, but even LaRoche admitted that meant his swing had more moving parts.

He missed 25 games last year and was easily in the top 20 even without his 2014 HR total. Is it all injury risk? His k/bb rate is so sexy, especially in a points league.

Seems like every time I enter my league info, the top 30 pitchers are worth money and then everything else is like $1 or negative. 13 teams, 9 pitchers each team. thats 117 pitchers, and the calculator tell me that basically 60% of the pitchers in the league are worth less than zero. Example, NL only league, it says that Joe Ross is only wrth $1
