Eno Sarris Baseball Chat — 4/11/13
With a phone full of pictures of pitchers' fingers, strange beers, and his two toddler sons, Eno Sarris can be found at the ballpark or a brewery most days. Read him here, writing about the A's or Giants at The Athletic, or about beer at October. Follow him on Twitter @enosarris if you can handle the sandwiches and inanity.
I have Boggs now should I drop him to pick up Rosenthal?
Hello Eno!
@Kyle in chat: the whole lineup protection deal is perpetuated because of those who “played the game”…because many played in high school or college, when there generally was a clear best player on teams. i believe lineup protection is probably more a “thing” at those levels, when not everyone is going to go on to play pro ball…the range of hitting skill in pro ball is a lot smaller it seems than the range of hitting skill in a high school league. in MLB, everyone is a “good” hitter, or else they wouldn’t be there (brendan ryans of the world aside).
Neeeed a closer Was offered Papelbon or Soriano. Who would, you, take?
