How excited should we be over Foltynewicz? Thinking of dropping Dickey or Niese for him in my 15 teamer.. thoughts?

12:00
Eno Sarris: No changeup, no command. Still, I guess I might drop Dickey.

Comment From Every Cub
Facing Gerrit Cole and Arqiumedes Caminero in the same game should be against the rules. SAVE US MR. MANFRIED

Comment From The Oriole Bird
Hey Eno, two interesting anecdotes from Jon Morosi on yesterday’s game played at an empty Camden Yards: (1) When Showalter made a call to the bullpen, he could hear the phone ring from the left-centerfield bullpen; and (2) Zach Britton could hear the broadcasters calling the game while he pitched in the ninth. Spooky stuff.

12:01
Eno Sarris: I also liked Caleb Joseph signing autographs for fake fans, and the twenty or so people out by the outfield gate that were cheering. In Germany, they call these games Geisterspiele, or Ghostgames, which seems appropriate. /luded

12:01
Comment From Carmine Rosato
Rafael Soriano to the Blue Jays as the closer makes sense at this point?

12:02
Eno Sarris: It’s not crazy. Cecil still at 91 or so. Osuna would be my closer.

12:02
Comment From Need for Speed
Any reason to think Everth Cabrera won’t get close to full-time at-bats for much of the remainder of the season?

12:03
Eno Sarris: Hardy going to be healthy at some point and Schoop has probably played his way into starting despite his flaws. But they’ll find him 450 or so I’d bet.

12:04
Comment From Miketron
Hey Eno, on the pod you mentioned that guys who throw the “baby slider” version of the cutter would be more susceptible to injury. Who are some guys we should watch out for?

12:05
Eno Sarris: I made this list once Adam Wainwright, Andy Pettitte, Barry Zito, Chris Carpenter, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Dan Haren, Esteban Loaiza, Gavin Floyd, James Shields, John Danks, Jon Lester, Jon Niese, Josh Beckett, Josh Tomlin, Kyle Davies, Kyle Kendrick, Mark Buehrle, Miguel Batista, Nick Blackburn, Tim Hudson and Tim Stauffer, and you might want to add Madison Bumgarner. Obviously every rule of thumb is not applicable to each player on the list, and age is a huge factor.

12:05
Comment From Thorn
Also- Talked to a Goose Island Brewer last week. Said his favorite sour they make was Lolita. I know I should take the guys word since he makes the stuff, but do you concur with this?

12:05
Eno Sarris: Yeah it’s either Lolita or Halia, both are amazing.

12:05
Comment From Brad
Was the Michael Lorenzen debut better than it looked? 15% swstr, getting whiffs on his fb, sl, ch and curve? Seems like 4 distinct pitches with gas…

12:06
Eno Sarris: Gave up all his homers on the 95 mph fastball, maybe he just needs to trust his secondary stuff more. The changeup was flat, but it had nice run and a good velocity difference. Looked like a full arsenal for a college reliever.

12:06
Comment From juan pierres mustache
just so everyone knows, mookie betts is the coolest. he is even cooler than lucas duda. you heard me

12:06
Eno Sarris: Mind. blown.

12:06
Comment From Eric Weinstein
Anthony Rizzo has already matched last year’s stolen base total of 6, and the Cubs are running all over the place, first in the National League right now in steals. Could you see Rizzo getting 20-30 SB, and if so where would that put him in overall fantasy value?

12:07
Eno Sarris: He was top ten for me, that would put him right there with Goldy in the top three/four.

12:07
Comment From STiVo
When Statcast shows “perceived velocity,” what are they really measuring?

12:08
Eno Sarris: I think they are looking at extension, so if a tall person throws the ball closer to the plate than a short person, the batter has less time to react. So I guess they normalize release points to one point, and give pitchers with tons of extension more credit.

12:08
Eno Sarris: Pitchers with extension: Lincecum, Walden, Bauer, Robertson.

12:08
Comment From Carmine Rosato
What will the Mets do with Plawecki when D’Arnaud comes back? Minors, trade, or find another position for him (practice for it now)?

12:08
Eno Sarris: minors for a bit.

12:08
Comment From jocephus

12:08
Comment From Jake
Choo is killing me. I think he is still hurt… another wasted season (and draft pick!).

12:09
Eno Sarris: I’d guess he was hurt, too, and it’s disappointing to hear, from a fantasy standpoint, that he’d rather play hurt than get it totally right.

12:10
Comment From Broseph
Hey Eno! I can trade ARod for either Anibal or Pineda. Which pitcher should I take? 10 tm h2h.

12:10
Eno Sarris: That’s kind of cool because they’re the two best current examples for recovery from Labrum (SLAP) surgery. I’ll take Pineda. Younger and better K-BB and who knows with a shoulder recovery guy either way.

12:10
Comment From Carmine Rosato
Do the Astros call up Correa now that Lowrie is hurt?

12:10
Eno Sarris: No

12:11
Comment From Merv Throneberry
I see your Dropp and I raise you 1 Tri-Repetae

12:11
Eno Sarris: favd

12:11
Comment From Jays Fan II
Do you think Cecil holds the Jays’ closer job going forward? If he falters, who gets the next chance?

12:11
Eno Sarris: Osuna. I think he could falter. Part of his brilliance was the velocity that Osuna has now.

12:11
Comment From JBD
Have you gotten the “question” that Michael Pineda is the best pitcher in NY yet? Someone keeps getting that one posted in these chats. And I think he forgot about Matt Harvey.

12:11
Eno Sarris: Got it on twitter and I pointed that out and he said let’s wait a month and I said sure.

12:13
Comment From Shawn
Ever have Captain’s Daughter from Grey Sails in RI? It’s the (insert player you consider underrated) of beer in the Northeast

12:13
Eno Sarris: Number one in the state! http://www.beergraphs.com/l…

12:13
Comment From Jake
What are reasonable expectations of J.A. Happ and Roenis Elias this year? And who would you think to be more valuable?

12:13
Eno Sarris: I don’t really like either except as high floor deep league innings plays.

12:13
Comment From francis
I’m pushing for the Mets to call up and use Matz & Thor for the 7th and 8th innings. Despite their record, they do not currently have the bullpen to stay above .500 all year long.

12:14
Eno Sarris: the problem is that then you don’t have the innings for them as starters next year.

12:14
Comment From Show Buckwalter
What kind of leash does Bud Norris have in Baltimore? Think Gausman gets back into the rotation soon enough?

12:15
Eno Sarris: I don’t see a lot to recommend him, and there’s already noise about change. I’d hold Gausman for a couple more Bud starts just in case.

12:15
Comment From Jon
Hutchison and Greene need to be on WWs in shallow (10-team) leagues, right? Just too inconsistent at this point?

12:16
Eno Sarris: Probably but a bit of good news: Greene velocity up a tick again last start. And the Ks came back. Better home park too.

12:16
Comment From Merv Throneberry
Hi Eno! Is Hutchison in danger and is there any chance Osuna gets some starts?

12:16
Eno Sarris: I don’t think he’s in that kind of danger, no.

12:17
Eno Sarris: But he’s not

Is it worth holding onto Watson in a 12 team, mixed or will Melancon be fine?

12:17
Eno Sarris: hold for a bit, unless you trade over for Ramos.

12:18
Comment From Kris
Brutal week for me. Need a spot for streaming, who is the most droppable in a 14 team mixed: Rusney, Ottavino (only have Cecil and C.Allen) or Tanaka? Or hold for a week and see what info comes out

12:18
Eno Sarris: I don’t want to drop any of those guys

12:18
Comment From Jon
Is it stupid to roster Carrasco, Salazar and Bauer in a daily-moves league with a 200 GS limit? Any issue there?

12:18
Eno Sarris: No

12:18
Comment From Brandon
How do you view Marco Gonzales once he gets the call up? And what player comp does he remind you of? Thanks.

12:20
Eno Sarris: If he had more velocity, could be Hamels-esque, because he’s a lefty with good command a devastating (top five by whiff rate) changeup, and developing breakers. But he’s at 89, so I guess he could be Dallas Keuchel.

12:20
Comment From Jake
With McGee coming back next week, how will the 9th inning duties play out in Tampa? Any point hanging on to guys like Jepsen and Frieri if hoping to vulture a few saves?

12:20
Eno Sarris: Not Frieri and barely Jepsen. I think Box will get ‘most’ saves, but they’ll actually use McGee and Box in the best situations and they’ll split saves. Keeps em both cheaper and is the best way to use the pen.

12:20
Comment From Shawn
Even though he gave up 5 runs, I was encouraged by Wood’s start last night. 1 bad pitch to J-Zimm cost him with bases loaded cost him, and the Ks are back! Your thoughts?

12:21
Eno Sarris: He still threw it low in the zone and out of the zone http://www.brooksbaseball.n… but it was nice to see Ks. All of the whiffs came on the curve. I’ll buy him low.

12:22
Comment From Rubby
Thoughts on Kang so far? Not playing much yet, but it’s not hard to imagine him displacing Mercer at some point.

12:23
Eno Sarris: Happy to see a normal swinging strike rate, think he can K 20-24%, so that means the batting average will be okay. Since I believe in his power, and they have equal patience, the question is about defense. I thought his D looked fine in spring, but that’s the measure. Kang’s Power vs Mercer’s D.

Should I drop Chris Hatcher since Jansen will be back shortly or will he pickup some more saves?

12:24
Eno Sarris: If you need the slot, Hatcher is a temp.

12:24
Comment From J-Dog
Got an offer of Mookie Betts for my Jorge Soler? H2H points league where there is a penalty for K’s. Which side do you like more?

12:25
Eno Sarris: Soler looks like he’s going to K a lot this year, and Betts’ BABIP going to jump soon, IMO. I still love love Soler, but this is fine. Maybe get an arm thrown in.

12:25
Eno Sarris: (better than a leg)

12:25
Comment From Shawn
Any plans to update your arsenal score ratings? I know there was something in HBT recently, but I think those are different than yours?

12:26
Eno Sarris: No, but dude took the ball and ran with it. I like those. http://www.hardballtimes.co…

12:26
Comment From Scotttttttt
Every year my hitting sucks, buy my pitching kicks ass. This year I decided I must be drafting pitchers too early, so I didn’t draft a pitcher till my lineup was set. Now my hitting sucks AND my pitching sucks. What’s wrong with me?

12:26
Eno Sarris: Baseball is crazy.

12:26
Comment From @leonhard14
Looking at Trumbo’s spray charts and swing stats, it looks like he is being more aggressive while also being more patient? Lower K% & BB% as he’s swinging earlier in the count, but charts show he is hitting with more oppo intent this year. SSS or maybe a change in approach? Stats looking better so far.

12:27
Eno Sarris: I like those things for him. He’s not going to walk, so stay out of two-strike counts. the Josh Hamilton approach. Going the other way should help with platoon splits, too, even if the data doesn’t quite back this yet.

12:27
Comment From Brad
What order do you have Lorenzen, Folty, Cooney, Lyons for the rest of the season?

12:27
Eno Sarris: That order, but i’m not in love with any.

12:27
Comment From Mark
Waiver wire for a Tanaka replacement. Wood, Ubaldo or Morrow (those strikeouts have to come back, right?)?

12:27
Eno Sarris: Wood, Morrow

12:28
Comment From rustydude
I have a mish mash of starters on my team after Felix including Anibal, Ubaldo, Danny Salazar, Porcello and Eovaldi. Of the latter 5, which 3 would you have the most confidence in having active week in week out? Or, would you play the matchup game and thread all 5 in and out of the active lineup based on matchup?

12:28
Eno Sarris: I’m not confident in Ubaldo. I think I’d start Anibal and Danny most weeks and see if I couldn’t alternate Porcello and Eo in good parks.

12:28
Comment From Earl of Baltimore
12 team, mixed, start 1 catcher, OBP league. No keepers. My DeSclafani & Alex Wood for his Posey?

12:28
Eno Sarris: I like those pitchers, but sure, I usually jump at any chance to trade pitching for hitting.

12:29
Comment From Statistically Confused
Lets kick this off right! Thoughts on Shelby Miller going forward versus a Joe Kelly type? Kelly’s stuff is insane, but Miller keeps piling up points in my 10 team H2H league. I don’t want to drop him, but I can’t bring myself to start him. Meanwhile Kelly is sitting on the waiver wire.

12:29
Eno Sarris: Miller for me. And I like Kelly some.

12:29
Comment From Bryan Butler
Why do I get the feeling Gausman is about to break out?

12:31
Eno Sarris: The curveball? It doesn’t get whiffs — his slider didn’t either — but so far every one put in play has been a grounder, and it’s a different look. I think that could be it.

Comment From Ozzie Smith
Going into the season, I found it somewhat surprising that virtually every single fantasy writer had Altuve regressing significantly, in both the SB and AVG category. When reading all the reasons for the expected regression, I found it to be mostly fluff. A month of the season is now in the books, and Altuve has pretty much just kept the 2014 train rolling. Can we start believing more in his ability to sustain the majority of last season’s numbers?

12:32
Eno Sarris: Stolen bases age terribly, but not until 26/27, so yeah he’s fine. I like the change he made to his stride, too.

12:32
Comment From Bruce
Tough last few days for “Eno’s guys”. Hutch, Greene, Chase, all getting rocked. Next year stick with Kersaw, Felix, Sale, guys like that as “Enos Guys”

12:32
Eno Sarris: There would be zero value to that.

12:33
Eno Sarris: “Hey guys I think this guy Felix Hernandez is going to be good this year!”

12:33
Comment From Bryan Butler
Could Mike Pelfrey be a relevant mixed leave starter? He looks pretty good and I can’t believe I’m saying that. He had Tigers hitters baffled a few times.

12:34
Eno Sarris: He’s finally throwing the splitter as much as I wanted him to in New York, but all the years have biased me against him. I’d want to know your dropper.

12:34
Comment From Bobby Blownilla
I’m getting a lot of requests for Kole Calhoun in my OBP league. I noticed he’s not the best at OBP. should I be selling his youth and future? (dynasty league with 5 OF spots) I’m contending right now. thanks!

12:35
Eno Sarris: He’s 27! I doubt there’s a lot of projection left. If someone Godfathers you, do it.

12:35
Comment From Scooby
Thoughts on Jesse Chavez moving forward now that he’s in the rotation? For now and ROS, where do you rank him amongst younger guys like Taijuan, Pomeranz, and Norris?

12:36
Eno Sarris: He told me that he prepped for this season as a starter and that’s why his velocity is up. I’ll take him over Norris for sure, who is good, but the command worries me a bit with a young pitcher. Walker’s stuff is so nasty I’ll take him despite the worries. Pom is like Chavez, both guys I’d rather start at home.

12:37
Comment From hscer
Can we please at least pay attention to Danny Espinosa again yet? 4 singles yesterday brought his BABIP to .297 and he’s now hitting .277/.404/.468. Yes, in just 58 PA. But he has what would be career bests in bb%, contact%, z-contact% and his lowest o-swing% and swstr% since 2011. They all still sit worse than league average (except the 13.8 BB%), but if he can get back to his 2011-12 level, he could easily be the Nats opening day SS in 2016, right?

12:37
Eno Sarris: I’ve always had a little love for him. But aren’t there platoon issues that they are hiding through usage this year? I still think Yunel and him will split time once Rendon is back, and either could be at short next year.

12:38
Comment From Trent
Fielder hits ___ HR’s ROS?

12:38
Eno Sarris: 21

12:38
Comment From Bob
How concerned should I be about Jose Quintina? K rate dropped, FIP not good, and GB% down.

12:39
Eno Sarris: He’s a two-pitch guy relying on fastball command in a hitter’s park. Was tepid about him this year, and remain so. I wouldn’t drop, but i wouldn’t buy.

12:39
Comment From Bruce
CC now has 240 innings of meh. spread over 3 seasons. Any reason to think all of a sudden his performance will catch up with his peripherals and hell be mixed league relevant?

12:40
Eno Sarris: You know, that park can inflate HR/FB, which is his main problem. I wish he was in the NL and I could say that I’d like to buy. As is, this looks a lot like last year, with a deeper slider and a few more whiffs on that pitch. He’s hiding the fastball now.

12:40
Eno Sarris: (old)

12:41

12:41
Comment From Houzer
so you think Sanchez eventually takes the closer job in Toronto? Or does more established like Papelbon or Soriano get hired?

12:41
Eno Sarris: It’s either Osuna, Cecil, or an outsider.

12:42
Comment From Reginald Denton III
Hey Eno! Thoughts on Jesse Hahn’s start last night? After a rocky first inning, he seemed to settle down. Is the blister an issue anymore? Still bullish on him?

12:42
Eno Sarris: Needed the Stanton mask

12:42
Comment From Warren
how high is Smyly in your pitching ranks ROS? Looked great yesterday.

12:43
Eno Sarris: Love that dude. I think he can do it with FB/SL/CB at home in that park. Good command. No velocity loss.

I am near last in a super deep 13 team dynasty roto league, just lost my #2 pitcher to TJS and my SS for at least the next 2.5 months. When should I sell?

Eno Sarris: Before the other guys. Sometime this month if things don’t change while those guys are out.

12:44
Comment From mtsw
Time to give up on Steve Pearce? Seems like he’s only going to be a platoon bat for the O’s going forward.

12:44
Eno Sarris: Short side platoon too.

Comment From Anthony
I just traded Yoenis Cespedes for Billy the kid Hamilton. Did I win? or lose?

12:45
Eno Sarris: As long as you can cover in the power categories, should be a win just on value.

12:45
Comment From Kris
Rusney is back at AAA. If he’s good to go in a week, is he up even if Victorino is back?

12:46
Eno Sarris: Dunno, the Sox don’t really need a hitting upgrade, and bringing Rusney up will cost them an asset on the roster somewhere. I think that’s what’s holding them back.

12:46
Comment From Houzer
Trade Lucroy and Kipnis for Cano, and pick up Mesarasco. Good trade?

12:46

Picked up my first La Folie the other day, haven’t tried it yet. What should I make for dinner to pair it with?

12:47
Eno Sarris: I think sours probably go better with something lighter, like a seafood pasta or something.

12:47
Comment From mtsw
With all the talk of NL adopting the DH, why not just go with 8-man lineups instead? The DH is just an affirmative action program for lardasses who can’t field a position.

12:47
Eno Sarris: Players like roster spots and jobs.

12:47
Comment From Eric
Ottoneu 5×5. Looking to upgrade Miller at MI and also get more runs. All except Miller are bench players for me. Trade $5 Miller, $4 Chase Anderson, $4 Lamb and $1 Kiermaier for $18 Dozier and $7 Fowler + $5?

12:47
Eno Sarris: I like Miller, Anderson, Lamb and KK and I’d still do this.

12:48
Comment From Eddie
What is the deal with Chase Utley? I can’t tell if he is just majestically unlucky or if he isn’t hitting the ball with any authority at all. Obviously I don’t watch Phillies games 😛 so I don’t have anything to go off of besides his stats.

12:48
Eno Sarris: He’s 36 and on degenerative knees and also unlucky. But unsure he’ll regress to mixed team worthiness.

Hey Eno – I’m having a miserable time at 2B (Kipnis) and MI (C. Owings). A) do you expect Kipnis to actually be a dude again and B) Should I dump Owings in favor of Brandon Crawford, Danny Espinosa, Solarte, or Brandon Phillips? (FYI – 12 team .OPS league)

12:52
Eno Sarris: Woof on Brandon’s .600 OPS, I would have gone there. I feel okay about Kipnis, but Owings told me he changed his swing to a two-handed finish to keep his shoulder healthy, and that worries me. I think I’d still bank on Phillips adding some power over the PT of the middle two.

12:53
Comment From dave
HI Eno, you were as high as anyone on Teheran. Me too, but wondering now where you put him and if it is actually time to sell low?!

12:53

Thoughts on Nick Tropeano? Looked really good in his spot start.

Hahn or Pomeranz?

1:01
Eno Sarris: Hahn, wider arsenal.

Speaking of Gausman … don’t you think a better career development move would be to send him to Norfolk to develop another pitch, rather than keep him here to get bombed in the bullpen?

1:01

When will Hurdle start to play Kang more? He hit a rocket double to right center last night with an effortless swing. I’m in favor of Kang starting at third and having Harrison go back to a utility role

1:02
Eno Sarris: That’s another possibility. I mean, people can gotcha me on Kang and other’s struggles if you like, but guys like Chase Anderson, Shane Greene, Anthony Desclafani and Jung-Ho Kang have actually shown me a lot, especially when compared to their prices in drafts this year.

Time to sell high on Joc Pederson? I love me some scrambled Eno Sarris, mmmm.

1:02
Eno Sarris: The batting average is coming down, yes, but in OBP leagues.. no.

1:03
Comment From Matt
I just got offered both Melky and Eaton for Shane Greene in a league with OBP,SLG, and NSB. I really like Greene and my pitching is weak, but I have to take that right?

1:04
Eno Sarris: You know, I’m worried about Eaton a bit. I mean I think the BA might come up, but two SB attempts in a month? Not going to get it done. That said, I guess you could take Melky for Greene and then drop Eaton for a pitcher if you wanted.

Comment From bpqa
Can you explain the differences between the Plate Discipline stats and the Pitch f/x Plate Discipline stats on every player’s page? I got from the glossary that the Pitch f/x stats are raw data and the non-Pitch f/x stats come from Baseball Info Solutions, and the latter data are mediated to some degree by humans. But why do the two data sources sometimes disagree so much, and which one can I trust more?

1:05
Eno Sarris: I mostly just use the PFx ones because they done by computers. I guess there might be a lefty zone which pFx won’t adjust for (lefties see a bigger strike zone on the outside, it’s shifted some), so that might be something a human can deal with, but still. I prefer a virtual box in the air, drawn by a computer.

Lost Tanaka and dealing with struggling Greene and Alex Wood in my points league. Chase Anderson, Brandon Morrow, Rubby de la rosa, Karns, and Eovaldi are on the FA list. Pick one to scoop up to replace Tanaka, and do you keep Greene/Wood or go after the FAs?

1:06
Eno Sarris: Anderson for me, but if HRA is a big points killer, could go with Morrow over Anderson. I’d keep your two.

Is Keuchel for real? Am I likely to get good value for him if I try to trade? I have Salazar on the bench to slot in. Redraft H2H league

1:07
Eno Sarris: This surprises me! I’ve been saying Keuchel was for real since late 2013. Salazar’s Ks make me want to trade him, so find the person that agrees with me that Keuchel is for real.

Is Henderson Alvarez worth holding onto in a 12 team H2H points league when there are FA options like Paxton, Hahn, Leake, Happ and Rubby De La Rosa?

1:09
Eno Sarris: Hahn intrigues, and I think he’ll k more than Alvarez, eventually. That’s what Hahn said to me, and I agree with him!

1:09
Comment From Dave
Was Jake Marisnick on your radar before the season? Is he now?

1:10
Eno Sarris: I did not like him. But he’s changed his approach a little (more oppo, more contact), and I’m forced to alter my stance a bit. Useful in deeper leagues, yes.

Would sell somewhat high on Souza or keep him for the season?

1:12
Eno Sarris: this is still within the realm of reasonable expectations for him, and in a batting average league, might be hard to sell a .230 average.

1:13
Comment From Joe
Thoughts on Semien so far. Think he keeps the average where it is and finishes 15/15?

1:13
Eno Sarris: Making more contact, so maybe I’ll take the over on his rest of season .243, but I will definitely take the under on .298. 15/15 seems well within reach.

1:13
Comment From Josh G
I picked up Marisnick to fill in for Gomez and he’s been fantastic. With Gomez returning this weekend, I need to move either Marisnick or Pollock and need some pitching. Which guy do you like more going forward, Marisnick or Pollock?

1:14
Eno Sarris: I actually don’t feel strongly about either, and one is probably going to get you more in return, so shop that guy (pollock?).

1:14
Comment From Alvaro
Non-SABR analysis, but, concerning the Red Sox, do you think not having an ace or a “stopper” can have mental effects on the rotation?

1:14
Eno Sarris: I think mostly the rotation is full of individuals that try hard for themselves first, and team second. I don’t think it makes that much of a difference.

1:15
Comment From Rob P

Is Uehara actually finding his special shoes (saying I just made up meaning he’s getting back to what made him good), or should I continue offering him to everyone.

1:16
Eno Sarris: Crazy splitter usage, he scares me still. Okay it normalized a bit. last three games; 64, 60, 45% splitters. Maybe it was just a blip. A really strange blip. On a really old reliever that’s a bit frail, too.

1:17
Comment From pair-a-dice
A while ago you wrote a blip on trevor may. only a few innings but walks are way down now, avg velo is up a tad, and he’s getting k’s. worth anything in dynasty?

1:18
Eno Sarris: Using the curve over the slider like he has been might be good for him. Still has a great change. Good velocity. Something to like there, but mostly bench/deeper league play until the breaking balls is trusted more and we can believe the command.

1:18
Comment From Josh G
What’s up with Shoemaker? His GB% is below 30% so it looks like homers might be a continuing problem going forward. Would you hold tight or sell?

1:19
Eno Sarris: They might be a problem, but not like this. 1HR/9 and he can still have an okay ERA, good K rate. I still think he’s a mixed leaguer.

1:19

1:21
Comment From War2d2
In two recent chats Kiley said that he sees Addison Russell as a 3B/2B guy because his D won’t play at SS (not enough/quick enough arm). Each time he said that he thinks Starlin is currently better than him and will remain so. Thoughts? I know you’re really high on Russell. Do you think he stays at 2B, or do you think they eventually move Bryant’s shaky D to LF and Russell to 3B?

1:21
Eno Sarris: I think he stays at second. Baez seems like a bust to me, and I was never in on him. TLS and AA are util/fill in wherever they need help.

When someone says 10- or 12-team league, how many players do you assume are rostered? Is there some standard roster size? Wouldn’t number of players rostered be more useful? I’ve played with roster sizes from 23 to 30!

1:24
Eno Sarris: I assume around 25. Yahoo standard is something like 12-team, 11 starting hitters, 9 starting pitchers, five bench.

1:25

Jimmy Nelson looked awful in his last start against CIN, walking 5 in 2+ innings. Do you think this was a fluky performance or will command be an issue for him all season?

Thinking about offering Caminero for Ramos in a dynasty, but I’m in love with Caminero’s upside potential with that fastball. Does the potential to get someone like Ramos with a better chance at saves this year outweigh Caminero’s ceiling? My closers are Ottavino, Grilli, and Krod.

1:36
Eno Sarris: I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Closers come and go. Caminero himself wasn’t Caminero last year. Ramos one dude closer to closing, has okay velocity himself.

Regarding Steve Pearce: He’s only had 59 PA and has been hitting well lately. O’s have a massive logjam of DH/LF/RF so he just isn’t getting any playing time. Way too early to give up or buy or anything really. Unless you’re speaking strictly fantasy; in that case, drop him, because he’s going to fight for playing time all year.

1:40
