Eno Sarris Baseball Chat — 5/22/14
11:45 |
: I will be here soon!
|
11:45 |
|
11:45 |
:
|
11:46 |
: This came out before Stairway to Heaven. Both bands played about ten shows together in the year before Stairway came out. Fast forward to about a minute in if you want to hear what I’m talking about.
|
11:59 |
Sup Eno. |
11:59 |
|
12:00 |
You didn’t know that about “Stairway”? Zeppelin is infamous for this sort of thing. |
12:00 |
: Yeah stuff started coming through about them once we listened to this this weekend at a wedding — my pops’ best friend’s daughter, so they were all nodding so hard they broke their necks.
|
12:00 |
ventura for moss. who says no? |
12:00 |
I can trade Yordano Ventura for Nolan Arenado in a keeper league. They have identical keeper values going forward. Good or bad move? |
12:01 |
|
12:02 |
: I like Ventura, but in keeper leagues, you have to think about his size a bit. Tim Lincecum, Scott Kazmir and the like. Even Pedro broke down a bit early. But! These guys were great when they were young. And are you really thinking about owning Ventura in five years?
|
12:03 |
: So I say keep Ventura over Moss (platoon issues), Arenado (power?) and Desmond. Am I crazy?
|
12:03 |
With my boy Moose Tacos in the minors thinking of making an offer for Machado (dynasty league). |
12:03 |
: Sounds good.
|
12:03 |
if taurus loses their lawsuit, i hope they say “no stairway? denied!” |
12:03 |
Eovaldi struggling lately. Still bullish on him for the season? |
12:04 |
: Nothing’s crazy out of wack but there’s the idea that a guy with a limited repetoire has a harder time the more often he sees teams to worry about. I might sell him high, but not dropping.
|
12:04 |
What are some prime buy-low OFs you can think of? |
12:04 |
: Heyward comes to mind. No problems with him.
|
12:04 |
Safe to start Cobb today fresh off the DL and vs. Oakland? |
12:04 |
: yes
|
12:04 |
Hey Eno! Last Saturday, Paul Goldschmidt went 4/5 with 2 steaks and 6 rbis with 5 runs scored against the Dodgers. The starting pitcher for that game was Clayton Kershaw and Goldy had a career 4/23 line against Kershaw with 9 k’s. I only have one 1B spot on my roster and was thinking of sitting him but didn’t because he has been a top 10-fantasy producer this season. Needless to say that was a very smart decision. My question is how much value do you put towards career BVP (batter vs. pitcher) numbers in deciding your lineup? Thanks for answering! |
12:05 |
: None. Been shown to be useless, mostly!
|
12:05 |
You were one of the first to announce your voyage on the Belisario train, so what do you think of him going forward now that he somewhat has the job? Could he manage to stay in the role all season? |
12:05 |
: Lindstrom out two months? I think he can keep it. Unless Nate Jones gets unbroken. UNBREAK YOUR HEART
|
12:05 |
Just traded Justin Verlander and Melkey Cabrera for Adam Jones in a 20 team mixed league, thoughts? |
12:05 |
: Like
|
12:05 |
My Melky & Balfour for Freddie Freeman? This is a no-brainer, right? |
12:05 |
: TRADE BALFOUR FOR WHATEVER
|
12:06 |
Between A+ and AA, in 2014 Peter O’Brien (NYY) has a 198 wRC+, .722 SLG, and 17 HR, 41 G. Hauling a 2.4 BB%, 23.6 K%. In 2013, he had a 7.5% BB%, 28% K rate through A, A+, 138 wRC+. Does he make it to the show in 2015? Do you like his odds on learning plate discipline, getting to be a 3-true-outcome type? |
12:06 |
: He’s still in the ‘bad’ buckets for both BB and K in both of those examples.
|
12:06 |
Strasburg struck out 53 in his first 6 starts, 34 innings. 21 in 27.1 innings in 4 starts since then. So 74 strikeouts and 10.9 SO/9. Where do those last two numbers end up (I won’t check your math to read into your innings prediction…okay, I totally will, but I don’t mean to) |
12:07 |
: I love Stras for close to a 200 IP season, if not finally doing it, and 220+Ks.
|
12:07 |
Are you aware that last week’s chat was interlude free? |
12:07 |
: CAN’T BE.
|
12:07 |
You said in your farewell SS that you are devoting time to running website you so wanted to write for way back when. Is that FG RG or are you working for an additional site now? |
12:07 |
: That was FG. More time one interviews, more posts on RotoGraphs.
|
12:08 |
Do you think Machado and Bogaerts are both better real-life players than fantasy? Both come with high price tags in keeper leagues but don’t seem to produce as much as hoped. |
12:08 |
: Totally possible. Both good defenders with patience. I do think XB can 20/10 at some point, maybe even .280 with that.
|
12:09 |
Does Wandy Rodriguez bounce back? |
12:09 |
: No, deeeeeeep leaguer at best. I have him on bench in 20-teamer. Knee still hurts, all CB and meh FB.
|
12:09 |
You seeing anything in Upton’s profile that makes you think he can maintain this production even with the ks? |
12:09 |
: History if you talking Justin.
|
12:09 |
Texas Rangers: Unquestioned worst offseason of 2013-2014? |
12:10 |
: They coulda probably fixed some of the holes they have now with better pickups, and the Fielder thing looks pretty bad now. But they still have a 23% chance of making the playoffs!!
|
12:10 |
I can see the resemblance in the Spirit tune but really I don’t see the big deal. Listen to Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick “Ladi-Dadi” and you’ll see Miley Cyrus and Biggie Smalls sampled and stole part of that song too and it came out in what, 1984? It happens. |
12:11 |
: It happens but I don’t like it. Give the drummer some.
|
12:11 |
: Speaking of samples.
|
12:12 |
:
|
12:12 |
: god I love that song
|
12:12 |
![]() Ill be in Philly in 2 weeks. |
12:12 |
![]() What an odd mascot. |
12:12 |
: VIDEOLUDE
|
12:12 |
Playoff odds has NYY as a .500 team, 32% POFF. What moves do they need to make to get to 50%? Really, what moves could they make? |
12:13 |
: Buy the Shark but with what. Maybe spend less buy less and get something for the infield/rotation from someone like the Marlins?
|
12:13 |
Verlander may be struggling but will he turn it around? I’m way up in saves in my roto and have been offered him for my Perkins. |
12:13 |
: Well I’d take him for Perkins, but I think he’s not an ace ace this year.
|
12:13 |
Do I need to hold Allen and Shaw? WTF is going on in Cleveland? |
12:14 |
: Pretty sure it’s Allen, Shaw keeps coming in before him.
|
12:14 |
I’ve been crushing it on the waiver wire re. closers (Rondon, Mejia, Doolittle, Belisario) and I’ve also got Aroldis. Would you deal Aroldis for some SP help (had Big Fern:( ) or just hold onto Aroldis until some of those get deposed? If not, what kind of SP would you be targeting? |
12:14 |
: Doolittle gets you a solid second closer, but the rest… if Mejia makes it looks solid there, and Doolittle holds, I think those two could be fine 1/2 closers on top of WW guys. But not yet.
|
12:15 |
CJ Cron’s SwStr% does not line up with his K rate. Is he due for some strikeout regression, or does he just reign it in when he’s behind in counts? |
12:15 |
: Could be aggressive with decent hit tool. Has power. No plate discipline means there good be bad times for him. Don’t think he’s a mixed leaguer yet.
|
12:16 |
How do you feel about running out two of your pitchers in fantasy who are facing off in real life? I have Cobb and Gray today. |
12:16 |
: I’d probably run both out, but this is about the only case where I’d wait on Cobb.
|
12:16 |
My infield has been hurting since the injuries to Zimmerman and Trumbo and I’m not sure what to expect once they do return. Am i wrong to be worried about thumb and foot injuries lingering? |
12:16 |
: Wrist is the big one for power.
|
12:16 |
On May 1, you said Kluber was droppable in 10-teamers. He now is second in pitching WAR and has sub-3 FIP and xFIP. My question is: can you talk smack about some other guys on my team? Come on, Eno! And he gave you a nice interview too! |
12:17 |
: At least I held him in all my twelve teamers? Ten teamers are tough man. I don’t play in any and all I remember was that the waiver wire was full of guys I wanted.
|
12:17 |
HI I PENO BUTTIS. |
12:17 |
Viciedo’s peripherals looked promising a few weeks ago (particularly fb% vs gb%), but he’s pretty much back to where he was last year. You at all optimistic based on the improved plate discipline? |
12:17 |
: Do think he coldl hit for a decent batting average and then hit homers v LHP.
|
12:18 |
what are we supposed to make of collin mchugh at this point? I don’t believe for a second he’s this good, but is he an actual mlb pitcher now? Are the Astros wizards? |
12:18 |
: I was skeptical, but that start was another good one. Three good pitches even if no change. Did change his mix, turfed one of his fastballs. Not a 12-teamer but a deep leaguer for sure.
|
12:18 |
Which major league stadium you’ve been to has the best beer selection? |
12:19 |
: PetCo not even close. Haven’t been to Seattle, AT&T in San Francisco is second best.
|
12:19 |
Pedro Alvarez’s peripherals look great/much improved. IS the explosion coming? |
12:19 |
: I’m buying low. Improved contact, power still there, everything ready for explosion I think.
|
12:19 |
Am I crazy for thinking that we’re currently watching Brandon Moss become one of the best power hitters in baseball? |
12:20 |
: He’s made a very important second adjustment after the K% went through the roof, and now he’s got patience, contact and power… It’s amazing. I still worry about vs LHP and the K% to some extent, but I was wrong about him.
|
12:20 |
Prognosis for Wandy. Worth keeping for $5 in an NL only 10 team league |
12:20 |
: No.
|
12:20 |
What would be your all-MLB “Under 25” dynasty league hitting lineup? |
12:23 |
: Did a quick query for this. Second base goes to Rendon over my boyfriend Betts. SS is Bogaerts over Simmons based on bat upside. First base looks like Rizzo. Stanton Puig Trout in OF. Third base… could only be Arenado. Few young catchers here, they take a while. I only see Sal Perez. DH is fun: Yelich, Myers, Billy Ham, Heyward? I’ll sneak Billy in just in case.
|
12:23 |
Hey Eno, thanks for this. So, I’d have to imagine as a latchkey kid you had oij OOJHH OH hOH OMI OH MYGODD _ I AM A WEREWORLF |
12:23 |
Dammit I wasnt signed in. |
12:23 |
: I knew those were yours.
|
12:23 |
WHATCHA GONNA DO, BROTHER, WHEN MOOKIEMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU??? |
12:24 |
Would this be the time to drop a Dread Zeppelin vid? |
12:24 |
Hey ma tiddy, where my hoes at! |
12:24 |
: Trying to get an interlude together here.
|
12:24 |
Will Minnix be taking over for Collette? |
12:24 |
: Would you like that?
|
12:24 |
Given his awful peripherals, would you try to deal Shelby Miller for another starting pitcher? I was thinking Ervin Santana might be a good target, until he got lit up last night. Thoughts? |
12:25 |
: I love Erv with the change-up. I like Miller more than most, but I think you’ll do better trading for a hitter or a closer or something — people don’t like when you offer them same position, struggling guy for their good guy.
|
12:25 |
Is Eric “Soup” Campbell going to super utility his way into relevance? TC is not a great manager but the Mets have to start taking away CY and EY’s at bats don’t they? Grandy may have to stay in as he’s one of our only lefty power threats! |
12:26 |
: I think something may happen here. Zimmerman found the next Zobrists and Campbell was on there: bad age, good plate discipline, some power, some D. I think EC will be better than Duda in OF and could be deep league relevant. Picked him up in my 18- and 20-team leagues with huge benches today.
|
12:26 |
Would you trade either Kluber or Cashner for Keuchel in 10-team? |
12:26 |
: Cash. Undetermined time off, not same K/9.
|
12:26 |
Are you a believer in Puig’s new more diciplined approach? BABIP still seems unsustainable and GB% is high but increased BB% and improved Swinging strike rate look promising. |
12:27 |
I would say there’s basically no doubt that Taurus inspired the riff from Stairway, but I also would say it’s about 40 years too late to do anything about it. |
12:27 |
: There’s some sadness to the story with Randy California’s death, probably a slightly mitigating detail.
|
12:27 |
Eno! Love the name! Got a comp for me on Mookie Betts? #mancrush |
12:28 |
: Hate to do it to him, but Pedroia works: good plate discipline, surprising pop for little guy, some speed. Mookie might have more speed, a little more athletiicsim.
|
12:28 |
By the way, if anyone wants to kill time between when they post their Q and it gets answered (SORRY, I’ll stop, seriously), they can take my quiz: http://www.sporcle.com/game… |
12:28 |
Will i ever be anything? am i droppable in dynasty leagues? did i poopie my pants? |
12:28 |
: .270/20 still possible. Bad plate discipline puts you in the bust bucket though.
|
12:29 |
Doolittle can keep this job right? Velocity, bit of a reverse platoon for lefties, strikeout rate and ONE walk on the season. Isn’t he a better Glen Perkins? |
12:29 |
: Better? Both great. Love Doolittle. Not worried.
|
12:29 |
Well the big question of the hour: Who replaces Moustakas? Does Danny Valencia get most of the playing time or is Paredes going to get a crack at the job? |
12:29 |
: Valencia IMO.
|
12:29 |
Crappy Closer Ranking …please rank these for saves ROS – Doolittle, Rondon, Rodney, Meija, Belisario, Qualls…because I have all six and they are taking up space. I’d like to drop one or two…but they are my only source of saves. |
12:30 |
: Not so crappy in Doolittle and Rodney. Mejia and Belisario are fine too. I think you can drop Rondon. Hasn’t look great, plus Cubs.
|
12:30 |
Is Terry Francona ever going to settle on a closer? |
12:30 |
: It looks like Allen right now, but it hasn’t worked out yet.
|
12:30 |
LaTroy has defeated age, but can he defeat Brothers or Ottavio? |
12:31 |
: Worst strikeout rate by a closer since 1990 save one: Dan Kolb, by .01 K/9. Ottavino’s coming.
|
12:32 |
Trade away Cespedes and Taveras for Tanaka in a keep 15 forever dynasty league? In 2nd place right now. |
12:32 |
: I like Cespedes but the steals are gone for good and I think he’s basically a .285/25/5 guy. That plus a 50% bust rate prospect for a real-life ace? Sure.
|
12:32 |
Any thoughts on Atlanta’s second base spot? Fredi indicated Pastornicky is his man when healthy, Gwinnett acquired an infielder that led to more La Stella buzz.. |
12:33 |
: TLS is coming at some point, but he’s not going to help a ton in HR/SB. More of an OBP guy. Pena/Pastornicky ZZZZZZZZzzzzz
|
12:33 |
Who is more legit rest of the season… Niese of Chavez? |
12:33 |
: Chavez. Don’t really see a plus pitch from Niese.
|
12:33 |
What are your thoughts on Danny Duffy? FA pickup in my dynasty league and I’m feeling nicem dicems. |
12:33 |
: No command. I’d sell high if I could.
|
12:34 |
Have you ever gotten questions from both sides of a proposed fantasy trade? That could be funny. |
12:34 |
: OFTEN.
|
12:34 |
Randy California was in Hendrix’ band for a minute…I know you knew that! |
12:34 |
: Hendrix GAVE him his name!
|
12:34 |
Eno, one quibble with total BAR leaders index on Beergraphs – Stone is killing it, but (and this is no dis on them, top notch brewery) a lot of that is due to all of their Enjoy Bys stacking the deck (it would seem, anyway. Please correct me if I’m wrong!). Isn’t it fair to say it’s the same beer, just different batches? Also, when’s the Beergraphs app coming out?! |
12:34 |
: We should think about the first and we are doing more than thinking about the second.
|
12:34 |
I’ve been sitting on Edwin Encarnacion all year, and I’m very happy! He’s not, of course, because I’m pretty fat! |
12:35 |
Victor Martinez has more HRs than SOs. Steamer and Zips have changed their minds on him, have you? |
12:35 |
: Sure, love guys with power and contact.
|
12:35 |
Hey Eno, update on Chase Anderson? Trying to decide holding him in dynasty or picking up a guy like Phil Hughes |
12:36 |
: I might go with Hughes. I was down on Hughes, but 12.5% swsTR on the fastball is really good. Cutter is meh, Curve only good for grounders, but that’s a decent package.
|
12:36 |
: Anderson might only be fastball/change for all we know. Like a DeGrom.
|
12:36 |
I just wanted to point out that Ike Davis is both walking 4% more often, striking out almost 10% less often, while posting a similar slugging and a 60pt advantage in OBP than lucas duda. Another mistake by Sandy. |
12:37 |
: Didn’t understand why they sold Ike without at least trying to give him more time.
|
12:37 |
Is this the beginning of the Xander Bogaerts fantasy breakout? Or the beginning of him being platooned and the bosox ruined his confidence? |
12:37 |
: I don’t know how they’ll do it, but I do believe that Xander and Drew are both better than Middlebrooks.
|
12:37 |
: A little downturn, so here’s something from my past:
|
12:38 |
:
|
12:38 |
Hey Eno, why don’t you kiss some butts. |
12:38 |
: Mookie’s, yes.
|
12:38 |
Trade me for I need TJ… |
12:39 |
: It’s a good point on all those trade offers. Could fall apart. But those hitters all had flaws too.
|
12:39 |
What kind of impact does Polanco have when hes called up? His minor league stats compare favorably to Brauns minor league stats. |
12:39 |
: Doesn’t have same power upside, but his K and BB put him in about a 25% bust rate bucket, which is awesome. More likely than most to hit the ground running. With power and speed, on the 20/20 level.
|
12:39 |
Carlos Carrasco had 2 good innings yesterday. That’s something, right? |
12:39 |
: Not enough though.
|
12:39 |
Not giving up on Santana yet, but I feel like I need a handcuff at C in my 10-team BA league. Who do you like among Saltalamacchia, Avila, Mesoraco, Iannetta and Miguel Montero? Thanks Eno! |
12:40 |
: Miguel.
|
12:40 |
Would you still buy on Homer Bailey? Is Melky too much to offer? |
12:40 |
: Yes and no.
|
12:40 |
Good day Eno. I think I have an unhealthy attachment to Zobrist and Shelby. I can drop them in a 7 teamer right? Probably find better peeps right? Thanks. |
12:40 |
: Yes.
|
12:40 |
Lance Lynn is so steady you can set your watch to him |
12:40 |
: Strange because he’s bad v LHP and doesn’t have a weapon against them. Park helps I think.
|
12:41 |
Adam Eaton or Allen Craig for ROS in standard mixed league 5×5? |
12:41 |
: You know? Adam Eaton. Craig is a .280/18 guy for me now. Even if Eaton is only 10/15, that’s more value.
|
12:41 |
Are you still going to be doing the Sleeper and Bust? I hope so, great program. |
12:41 |
: Of course! One more with Jason, then he moves to Sundays and I take over with a new co-host next week.
|
12:42 |
Here’s a good list of Led Zeppelin’s influences – http://turnmeondeadman.com/… |
12:42 |
Hey Eno so about the fantasy base-ballers OH DEAR I APPEAR TO HAVE TRANSMOGRIFIED INTO SOME SORT OF LUPINE BLOKE |
12:42 |
Yesterday, Derek Jeter batted 2nd. Against Jeff Samardzija. The RHP Jeff Samardzija. The RHP, 51.6 GB% in 2014 Jeff Samardzija. Jeter’s got a 56 wRC+ against RHP in 2014, when does he get moved down the lineup? |
12:42 |
: When he retires.
|
12:42 |
any 2B prospects coming down the pike of note? seems a little dry…. |
12:42 |
: Are you gonna make me say his name again?
|
12:42 |
Ploffe or McGehee ROS? |
12:42 |
: Plouffe a million times Plouffe. Good swing metric changes.
|
12:43 |
Need a sleeper SP to pick up in my 14 team keepers league. I’ve been watching Syndergaard, is there anyone with more potential that’s about to be called up? |
12:43 |
: Thor has some of the best potential, but also a bit of a log jam. Alex Meyer should be up July 1, I love him.
|
12:43 |
Had my first cha-cha bowl last weekend, it was definitely delicious, but it just didn’t feel like ballpark food. |
12:44 |
: I love their Crab sandwich, too and both are like that. I go there for work now, so I’m maybe a little different, but I’d rather eat whatever I want and not worry about what bucket it falls in.
|
12:44 |
Have you ever laced a baseball glove? Doing one right now at work. |
12:44 |
: looooong time ago.
|
12:44 |
Sean Doolittle a top 3 closer ROS? If not who are you taking over him? |
12:45 |
: Whoa hold on I love him but he’s not like totally in command. Jim Johnson still matters a bit, and Ryan Cook is right-handed and good. I had him at 19 or so this past week, would probably move him up to top 15 after good week, if all goes right, because of missed time, possibly a top 7-10 closer at end of season. But there’s risk.
|
12:45 |
Why are you down on Balfour? |
12:46 |
: Velocity down, pitching mix change, K-BB is negative, looks terrible.
|
12:46 |
Yelich has been quietly productive this year. Does he have enough pop to get to 20/20? I’m thinking of trading away Choo with Christian to replace him. |
12:46 |
: Won’t get there this year, but 15/20 possible and that’s good enough to mimic Choo.
|
12:46 |
Would TB really go to Peralta as closer, if Balfour is removed? Seems like they’ve been really hesitant to give him the job. Oviedo a good sleeper there? |
12:47 |
: I’ll have to look at Oviedo, but they really want to keep McGee cheap it seems.
|
12:47 |
So you liked that someone traded Verlander and Cabrera for Adam Jones. Does that mean you think Adam Jones comes around? |
12:47 |
: .280/25/10 true talent still IMO.
|
12:47 |
I’m gonna come out and say it, Heyward is not as good as promised. I want nothing to do with his lack of Duda talent. |
12:47 |
I hear the beautiful game has a tourney coming up. You intrigued? |
12:48 |
I was offered Porcello and Matt Adams for Goldschmidt. UHHHHHHH NAH! |
12:48 |
Please rank these SP’s for the ROS: Keuchel, Hutchison, Skaggs, Eovaldi. |
12:48 |
: Eovaldi ahead of Hutch and you got it.
|
12:48 |
Drop either Mejia or Rondon for Belisario? Who gets the most saves out of the O’s pen? |
12:48 |
: Drop Rondon
|
12:48 |
Lagunitas Nighttime – not what I expected. Better. |
12:49 |
:
|
12:50 |
: I used to play Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn behind Quake and was atop my school leaderboard for a while. STRAFE
|
12:50 |
You buying any James Jones shares? |
12:50 |
: Trying to. Somehow missed. Pissed. Looks good.
|
12:50 |
Was offered Matt Cain for Fransisco Liriano and Collin Mchugh, no brainer right? |
12:50 |
: Yeah I would still take this.
|
12:50 |
Brian Dozier legit? I have him and Kipnis might deal one. |
12:51 |
: yes and you might get more for Kipnis, especially if you wait until he’s up and he does something right away. Worth putting both out there and seeing what happens. Good enough to play both.
|
12:51 |
With Hiroki Kuroda’s palpable Lindstrom injury fielding extreme ground ballrate how did you rectify that considering baseballbazball above average tinged with REAL LIFE decent gas at 93 my feeling was that an ELITE grounball rate has the Derek Jeter? |
12:51 |
: wow.
|
12:52 |
Why hasnt radar guns to detect bat speed become a usefull tool for scouts (or has it). It seems that being able to quantify a players bat speed is as useful as a pitchers pitch speed. |
12:52 |
: This could be coming with the new data.
|
12:52 |
Traded Chris Archer for Casey Janssen a week ago. Like or no? |
12:52 |
: Eh. Janssen’s velocity is down and very few swings and misses so far.
|
12:52 |
![]() Its all in the hips Eno. |
12:52 |
so Flores is the SS, except his isn’t but sometimes he is… oh so Mets. |
12:52 |
I loved your article on the Kung Fu Panda. He’s hitting better lately, does that mean he is going back to his aggressive ways? |
12:53 |
: Yes he totally flipped the switch right after that piece. Swung at like 80% of his first pitches the week after. Just saying. (AS for prognosis, still can’t give him much better than .280/20)
|
12:53 |
Deep daily league platoon, who do you like best to pair with Seth Smith, Garrett Jones or Matt Joyce? |
12:53 |
: JOYCE
|
12:53 |
Stop what you’re doin’ cos I’m about to ruin the image and the style that you’re used to, Eno |
12:54 |
what about vanilla ice and pressure??? come on!!!! total theft |
12:54 |
: He didn’t pay for that?
|
12:54 |
If top pitching prospects have such high failure rates, should we try to trade away, Bradley, Stephenson, Grey, etc. Whats a realistic return for one of those to make it worth it to trade them? |
12:55 |
: I’d try to just shave 50% off a peak projection since that’s the bust rate. Even successful prospects don’t hit their peak projection. So maybe Gregory Polanco worth about a Melky Cabrera?
|
12:55 |
To Guest: SAMPLING is not equal to PLAGIARISM for many reason, one being that the use of a sample openly or implicitly acknowledges the source material. |
12:55 |
What do you think of Drew Hutchison ROS? Can he keep this up and stay shallow mixed league relevant? Or is he playing over his head? |
12:55 |
: Good mix of pitches actually.
|
12:55 |
name me the date that Eric Hosmer next homers. NAME ME. (p.s. HOSMER=HOMERS………………..WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA) |
12:55 |
: tomorrow
|
12:56 |
Yo Eno, tell me you’re up on Open Mike Eagle. By far the best thing to happen to smart-dude rap this decade. |
12:56 |
: Will check it out!
|
12:56 |
Juan Francisco looks a LOT like 2012-13 Pedro Alvarez, no? |
12:56 |
: Yup. Sit v LHP.
|
12:56 |
Reyes Cabrera Edwin Lind Bautista Francisco Lawrie Navarro Rasmus |
12:56 |
: All about if they can figure out some arms.
|
12:56 |
Drop Gyork Store for Solarte? |
12:56 |
: Yeah I might.
|
12:57 |
: Problem with Gyorko is the minor league BB% don’t seem to be coming. And I think that matters. .260/20 still possible but not that awesome.
|
12:57 |
Thoughts on Josh Donaldson for the ROS? I have been getting lots of offers for him. Would I be selling high? Current offer is Machado & Bumgraner. |
12:57 |
: I’m holding. Love him.
|
12:57 |
UGH CODY ALLEN UGH ERNESTO FRIERI UGH JOE SMITH UGH TOMMY HUNTER? |
12:58 |
: If I had to drop one I think it would be Smith actually. But I’d hold if possible.
|
12:58 |
Currently have Gerrit Cole as one of my five keepers, I’m worried about the massive increase in HR/9 and HR/FB. Is it too early to scale back the expectations of him being a true #1 Starter? |
12:58 |
: No reason for that to happen. I predict HR/FB regression and a great second half.
|
12:59 |
Did I do good trading Allen Craig for Alex Cobb? |
12:59 |
: Yes
|
12:59 |
Is there a worse pickup this offseason than Chris Young the Outfielder? All he does is take playing time from Lagares. The Mets would be better off with rookies in left and spend that $7.25m somewhere else. |
1:00 |
: Disagree. Career-best strikeout rate. Bad BABIP masking some potential. Worst-case as a vs LHP platoon bat still capable of being worth seven mil.
|
1:00 |
Which team is Shark playing for in August? |
1:00 |
: Boston?
|
1:00 |
OK, While we’re talking about confusing closer situations, where do you expect things to settle out in Baltimore? I’m sitting on Hunter and O’Day, but lost out on Britton. Could really use a free roster spot. Should I hold onto both or move on? |
1:01 |
: Hold Hunter, drop O’Day. Submariner with bad platoon splits and no velocity not going to close.
|
1:01 |
J5 has a new song out, it’s the good stuff: https://www.youtube.com/wat… |

This week, my team had our pinball league finals. Lost a close match. Second place. Not winning it all when you get the chance…sucks. |
1:01 |
E5 Beast Mode!!! |
1:01 |
: We luded!
|
1:01 |
What does my ROS look like? |
1:01 |
: .250-.260, 45 SB pace
|
1:02 |
Sorry to keep sending it Eno, but what to do about Clay Buchholz? He can’t be this bad but I don’t know if I should make an offer on him. |
1:02 |
: I’m not a fan. Doesn’t have a single peripheral that’s significantly better than average, most are worse.
|
1:03 |
Heading to PNC Park this weekend…any must hits within stadium? Craft beer available? |
1:03 |
: Still need a ballpark beer review for them.
|
1:04 |
:

1:04 |
Alvarez or Panda in OBP league? |
1:04 |
: Alvarez.
|
1:04 |
ESPN is saying to trade Brantley now and quick. I personally like Brantley, what about you sir? |
1:05 |
: Career years happen. He’s taking off more and I think that’ll keep happening. Even if the power fizzles a bit (and power peaks in August), I think he could easily .290/20/25+ this year.
|
1:05 |
Tillman was horrendous last night. Do you prefer him or Kuroda ROS? |
1:05 |
: HIROK
|
1:05 |
Is Devin Mesoraco really this good? |
1:06 |
: Loved him going into the season. Too much BABIP noise now, but probably something like .270/18 true talent right now.
|
1:06 |
What cheat combo do you think Span has used the last couple days? |
1:06 |
: up up down down left right left right b a select start
|
1:06 |
is that Murs from Strange Music in that video? |
1:07 |
: Slug and Murs! love em.
|
1:07 |
Do you answer non-fantasy questions? |
1:07 |
: yes.
|
1:07 |
Ride that Palom-ENO!!!! Giddyap |
1:07 |

1:07 |
Yesterday I started McAllister, Tillman, and Scherzer. Then I quit fantasy baseball forever. |
1:07 |
SHTOP BEING SHO MEAN 2 ME? =…..( |
1:07 |
: yeah I do kinda whip on Fiers on the podcast. I’m mad at him.
|
1:07 |
In your last (literally unfortunately) Saves & Steals you liked Belisario over Qualls. The Astros have 50% more save chances so far this year, FG projected standings have the White Sox with only 1 more Win ROS and the FG projection systems seem to like Qualls a little better. Are you still saying Belisario > Qualls ROS? |
1:08 |
: But you can’t give Qualls all of the RoS save opps, IMO. Bass, Crain > Webb, ??. Unless Jones gets healthy.
|
1:08 |
Um, Harper is hurt, not dead. |
1:08 |
: Ah he didn’t show up on my qualified hitters board.
|
1:09 |
You would really take Rizzo over Freeman in the dynasty league? Come on man |
1:09 |
: Well I like Freeman, missed him, honestly. But I do like Rizzo’s power upside more.
|
1:09 |
Will Devin Mesoraco be a top 5 Catcher? |
1:09 |
: Doubt it.
|
1:09 |
Do you think Justin Upton has any 6-8 WAR seasons in his future? |
1:10 |
: If not this year, no.
|
1:10 |
Do you think Stroman gets the next shot at the 5th starter role in Toronto when he’s eligible? |
1:10 |
: Hope so.
|
1:10 |
If I enjoy your work am I doing a disservice by not playing any fantasy baseball at all except like 2 Game picks a week cuz I keep forgetting it exists? |
1:10 |
: You are not doing me any disservice. You don’t play fantasy and you like these chats, which is awesome.
|
1:11 |
Mookie playing all OF positions + 2b, SS. Now with drew here this year in boston, and xander maybe moving to 3b. Reasonable to think the Sox rid of Middlebrooks, play Xander at 3b, betts at SS + OF positoins? |
1:11 |
: I heard from people that Betts don’t like SS. CF seems very attainable.
|
1:11 |
Would you trade Beckett/Skaggs/Teixeira for Liriano in a 14-teamer? I think Liriano still has the stuff to turn it around, but has gotten unlucky with the Ks and BBs (and everything else) so far. |
1:11 |
: Wait one of them or all of them? I wouldn’t trade any of them.
|
1:11 |
My pregnant wife is on a rampage! Will you tell her it’s ok that I chat while we are on vacation? |
1:12 |
: ooh boy. start with “do you need anything from the snack bar” and end with “i’ll be back in an hour”
|
1:12 |
Everyone asks when, but I ask who: Oscar Taveras OR Gregor Polanco? |
1:12 |
: At this point, with the health, and the years they’re having, not crazy to move Polanco ahead of Taveras.
|
1:12 |
Did I forget how to steal bases? |
1:12 |
: Strained hip flexor.
|
1:13 |
#Chantsthatshouldhappen EM – OH – YOUUUU – ESSS / TEE – AY – KAY AY ESS! Leeeeeeets go Moose Tacos! |
1:13 |
Does Hunter Harvey finish this year as a top 20 prospect? |
1:13 |
: He’s got serious helium. I think he could, but I don’t make a list.
|
1:14 |
Did I miss my chance to trade Ozuna in an NL only keeper for improvement elsewhere? He doesn’t have a spot late this year/next year once marisnik is up, right? |
1:14 |
: I’m taking Ozuna over Marisnick. Not sure JM is more than 4th OF.
|
1:14 |
speaking of closer rankings, how is Robertson not in the top tier? I won’t even get into Kenley over him… |
1:15 |
: Kenley has five Ks per nine and five mph over Robertson and a BABIP that is sure to regress. Got crap for Robertson’s ranking being too high when he first came out. I love the dude and he woulda kept moving up.
|
1:15 |
I LOVE QUIZZES |
1:15 |
![]() Kipnis back on Monday! |
1:15 |
New article idea for rotographs: Steals and Saves. Drink it in. You’re welcome. |
1:16 |
: Oh god never doing that again. That behemoth was about 4-5 thousand words a week and was irrelevant by the time that night’s games were played.
|
1:16 |
Miguel Olivo starts going crazy at you in the dodgers clubhouse, who comes to your defense? |
1:16 |
: Nobody because nobody knows who I am. If Eric Stephen and Mike Petriello are there — by the grace of god — maybe they open the door for me as we run.
|
1:17 |
How worried are you about Abreu (ankle, regression, etc.)? Would you take him over Pujols the rest of the year? |
1:17 |
: Yes, based on age and batted ball info.
|
1:17 |
RE: dynasty team under 25. Arenado over machado? Rizzo over freddie freeman? |
1:18 |
: Tackled the Rizzo miss, but I’ll stand behind Arenado. Plus batting averages to Machado’s IFFB problem. MM’s steals in question too.
|
1:18 |
Cigar City is making a beer aged in maple Louisville Slugger bats. I don’t have anything to add to that. |
1:18 |
WOAH that quiz is hard (when you start getting into 1900’s) |
1:18 |
The Stone ‘Enjoy By’ series definitely differ from release to release. I haven’t had one that tastes like a previous one, imo |
1:18 |
is there one stat that measures the contact & power you love? or do we need multiple #s? |
1:19 |
: I use K%, but power is so hard. Usually take a look at GB/FB, maybe batted ball distance, and then a peak at ISO, but ISO takes like 500 PA to stabilize.
|
1:19 |
Start De la rosa, Lynn and Cobb today? im last in hr/9 |
1:19 |
: Lynn and Cobb.
|
1:19 |
if the redsox were to platoon xander i would no longer be a redsox fan. |
1:19 |
Do you think Salazar recovers his skills in the minor and returns to contribute at the MLB level this year? |
1:19 |
: I still have hope. Just work on that FB command.
|
1:20 |
MOOKIE BUTTS |
1:20 |
Been holding carrasco in an al only in hopes he’ll start again… Should I just move on despite his great peripherals |
1:20 |
: I have him on a 20-teamer mixed with 40 roster spots. And I’m about to drop him.
|
1:20 |
That sounds like Aphex Twin kinda |
1:20 |
: Also like them.
|
1:22 |
:
|
1:22 |
From a purely offensive standpoint, would you take moss or longoria ROS? |
1:22 |
: No positional question? Moss!
|
1:22 |
Rest of the way production.. Jaso or Conger? |
1:23 |
: Jaso gonna play more, even if some of Conger’s upside on per-PA stuff is interesting.
|
1:23 |
Enoo!! I lost Fernandez and can move Beltre for Scherzer, maybe get him to add a little more (5×5, keep 5). The rest of my staff is Bumgarner, Fister, Samardj, Ventura, Lynn, Porcello, Bauer. |
1:23 |
: Is okay deal. Who plays 3b though? and your SPs are pretty good.
|
1:23 |
Mariners on the mend… Taijuan & Paxton worth 10 team AL-only roster spots?? |
1:23 |
: yes
|
1:24 |
COME TO BROOKLYN WE GOT TO THE DOUBLE WINDSOR WE DRINK BURRR |
1:24 |
are you down on Gausman at all? not just based on that one spot start, but his control hasn’t been great. |
1:24 |
: Command down, not throwing his secondary stuff, slider doesn’t look great. yeah, but sad about it.
|
1:24 |
Who is a better buy low: action Jackson or soriano |
1:25 |
: Jackson’s batted ball mix looks primed for power, he’s stealing more, like it.
|
1:25 |
Why does Zach McAllister suck? Also why does Chris Tillman suck? |
1:25 |
: Zach: FB only, no other pitch was even average when I looked. CT: curve is pretty but everyone sees it coming.
|
1:25 |
Instead of saying “I want to be a Hall of Famer someday” kids today probably say “I want to be mixed-league relevant when I grow up”. |
1:25 |
What park would you like to go to you havent been to yet? |
1:25 |
: Seattle
|
1:25 |
MAKING LOVE TO HIS ENO, ZIGGY SUCKED UP INTO HIS MIND |
1:26 |
I was at a game at AT&T last week, and in the club level one of the beer stands had a sign up on a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white paper that said in plain time-roman font: ” MYSTERY BEER $7.50″ |
1:26 |
: Oh I’d be so tempted.
|
1:26 |
postscript: my friend said it was “good” |
1:26 |
: hah
|
1:26 |
Is Morales worth a bench spot? he should be signing any day now |
1:26 |
: Will sign June 6, right?
|
1:26 |
I know now isn’t the most opportune time to sell Fielder, but if you did, what would be your floor? Would buying Heyward or Alvarez low plus a #2 starter get it done or is that not enough? Thanks Eno |
1:27 |
: Actually I might do that. I see Fielder’s upside as .280/2o or so RoS.
|
1:27 |
Is my baby boy Trevor droppable in a 12 team mixed? Bless his heart |
1:27 |
: I think his batting average will improve soon, he’s really done a great job with his swing metrics. And he’s playable vs LHP in any league. But that’s a lot to ask for a mixed league.
|
1:27 |
Lorenzo Cain a decent plug and play option as a 5th OF in 12 team mixed? Is he playing everyday? |
1:27 |
: while healthy, yes.
|
1:28 |
How do you feel about Calhoun coming off the DL? |
1:28 |
: great
|
1:28 |
Rondon is better than you’re giving him credit. That blown save yesterday had a lot more to do with luck (two bloop hits) and bad defense (Barney’s throwing error). The job is his and the skills are there to do it. |
1:28 |
: I hear you, they definitely threw the ball around. But Neil Ramirez is killing it and the team is not giving them many chances.
|
1:29 |
If you’re a Trevor Rosenthal owner, are you nervous now that Motte’s back in the mix? I drafted Jansen and Rosenthal high and both have obviously struggled. Just picked up Doolittle off the WW for a little insurance. |
1:29 |
: Only two blown saves, but with Doolittle, you’re good.
|
1:29 |
james paxton or dallas Keuchal for ROS? |
1:29 |
: Keuchel
|
1:29 |
I had a Frangelic stout at the Founders Brewery. It was fantastic! |
1:29 |
why is dallas keuchal good all of a sudden? is this for real? |
1:30 |
: Turfed a bad curve for a great slider, always had a good change, turfed a bad four-seamer fr a great two-seamer. Now has grounders, command and Ks. It’s real.
|
1:30 |
Is it safe to say that the not awful nolasco has returned? |
1:30 |
: Yay for not awfulness!
|
1:30 |
Deep league, 5×5 (OBP): I am still hanging on to Brad Miller… Cut the cord for either Aybar, Owings or Franklin? |
1:30 |
: Can cut for Owings.
|
1:31 |
I’m watching Adventures in Babysitting. I’m not entirely sure why, but I still like it. |
1:31 |
vanilla ice or snow? |
1:31 |
: Everyone knows all the words to Vanilla Ice’s best song.
|
1:31 |
Do you think anyone on the Mets deserves to be fired for their continued lack of success? |
1:32 |
: Never liked Terry. I love the young arms coming up, liked the TDA trade and still have hope for him, so I’ll give the FO a little bit longer despite hating the Lagares treatment and the Ike trade.
|
1:32 |
What’s your guy feeling on Trevor Bauer? Is he here to stay, and strike out all the fools? |
1:33 |
: The screwball is gone, and the change is just good for groudners, but cutter/curve/slider, great FB, better command, good velocity, and change for grounders looks good.
|
1:34 |
Will Polanco be around Des Jennings level? |
1:34 |
: I could see that, but more batting average upside given his K%s.
|
1:34 |
Yoenos Cesparris |
1:35 |
Every try Double Sunshine from Lawsons Finest Liquids?? |
1:35 |
: Never had any Lawsons and I want.
|
1:35 |
Do you think it would be smart, or overly complicated, to add 2 more categories to BIP; specifically, hard grounders, and weak fly balls? I know classification gets a little tricky but it seems that a further breakdown would help understand bad luck/bad hitting. Also, it doesn’t make intuitive sense to me that a hitter doesn’t have control of his LD rate…but I’ve never played any sports so maybe I don’t have the best intuition. |
1:35 |
: We have some of this data and are looking at how valuable it is.
|
1:35 |
I currently have a possum clinging to my groin – should I drop him? Thanks! |
1:35 |
: Um. Yes.
|
1:35 |
ottavino and mcgee – both not cost controlled, both should be closing. stupid money. |
1:35 |
: For some reason I don’t think the Rockies are thinking like this.
|
1:36 |
should i be at all concerned about kenley jensons high era/whip? any chance he could lose that job with a few more bad performances? |
1:36 |
: .427 BABIP, Ks correlated with low BABIPs, career .272 BABIP.
|
1:36 |
Sixpoint’s Resin is a delight |
1:36 |
: Yes.
|
1:36 |
on last nights broadcast, al hrabosky said if you score more runs you win. wasn’t sure if you knew that factoid. |
1:36 |
any thoughts on Robby Cano’s lack of power? is this going to continue? |
1:37 |
: I think he was always a true talent 20-25 homer line drive hitter. Now he’s in a bad park, but I think he can get to 18 or so still.
|
1:37 |
Maybe Baltimore was right with Balfour being injured when they pulled back their contract offer? |
1:37 |
: yes.
|
1:38 |
wow, so way off on Chris Young. There is far too much in the bank on him to say a correction is coming at this point. He’s just not that good. I guess the Mets FO has an over reliance on the same data you’re using…. |
1:38 |
: It doesn’t matter what Chris Young does. There’s no way you’re going to get me to call a one-year 7.5 mill contract bad.
|
1:38 |
Rafael Soriano’s velo is down from last year (which was down from the previous year) and his control has been spotty. Do you think he holds on or should we grab Storen or Clippard? (if so, which) |
1:39 |
: I’ve been worried about Soriano forever. By velocity and differing other peripherals, he’s looked hurt to me for a bit. Still think its Clippard, but can’t say it’s eminent at this point.
|
1:39 |
What goes into a ballpark beer review? I’m in Pittsburgh and love me some craft beer and baseball |
1:40 |
: Go around the park and write down all the craft offerings and where the craft stands are, write it up in BG style, and I’ll post it!
|
1:40 |
My question asked at 11:50 didnt get answered, why? |
1:40 |
: Because there are thousands of questions in here.
|
1:40 |
Do you hang onto Jim Johnson in a 16 team mixed league dynasty? |
1:40 |
: For about a week tops.
|
1:41 |
With a run differential more then double the next best team, the most WAR in baseball, and the best record in baseball, why dont you guys write about the A’s more. I wish all the media wasn’t always ignoring the best team in baseball over the last 3 years by record. |
1:41 |
: I’m in that clubhouse all the time, hoping for a few good pieces coming up.
|
1:41 |
PNC has Church Brew Works beer. Brewery is in a de-comissioned catholic church with the fermentors where the altar used to be. Win. |
1:41 |
S&B today? |
1:41 |
: Last one with Collette!
|
1:42 |
What happened to the Lightning round? |
1:42 |
: I can never catch up with the q.
|
1:42 |
how many questions do you have go unanswered through the chat? i don’t think i’ve ever had one answered 🙁 |
1:42 |
: sorry dude. keep trying. keep em shorter while still telling me the relevant league settings and so on.
|
1:42 |
ONEENO IS A PALINDROME |
1:42 |
Any chance Tony Sipp figures in the Astros closer mix? |
1:42 |
: harder for lefties.
|
1:43 |
Today is Morrissey’s 55th birthday. |
1:43 |
If they turned Space Jam into a baseball movie, what current players get their powers stolen? I’m thinking Dee Gordon would be an underrated alien pick. |
1:43 |
: totally looks like an alien.
|
1:43 |
Derek Norris question. |
1:43 |
: Derek Norris answer.
|
1:44 |
: FERAL CATCHER. What I love is that he’s making contact and doing well against righties. I think he’ll take more and more PA as the year goes on.
|
1:44 |
Re PNC: Oh, and stop at Sharp Edge on the way to the park. Excellent Belgian selection: http://site.sharpedgebeer.c… |
1:44 |
What kind of average and home runs do you expect Arenado to hit for in his prime? |
1:44 |
: I doubt he’ll hit 30 more than once if that. But some great .300+ seasons in average for sure.
|
1:44 |
Tell me good things about Carlos Santana, Pedroia, and Wright. I spent good money on them and am getting bupkis 🙁 |
1:46 |
: All that’s missing for Santana is power, so I’m not done done with him yet. Wright’s SBs were always a risk for going away, because SBs go away quickly, and his power was never no-doubt. Pedroia is hurt again, and there goes the power again. 1/3 I helped with at least?
|
1:46 |
My friend was drinking a left-hand milk stout nitro straight from the bottle. That seems wrong to me. |
1:46 |
: Hard pour or GTFO.
|
1:46 |
Mets fans bitch about the field dimensions. Since the walls were moved in, the field is almost exactly the same dimensions as Shea, in terms of the lines, the gaps and center field (albeit with some quirky lines to get there). The real reason there is no power on this squad is poor player evaluation, not the field. No other teams have problems hitting home runs here. |
1:46 |
: Their position player prospects are… not good. Nimmo might be okay, in a while.
|
1:47 |
Any data on frequency of TJS in the NPB? |
1:48 |
: Yeah in my piece on Sports on Earth. less than half as many TJs as us. They rest more, do different weight lifting, more massage and pre and post pitching warm up / cool down, but otherwise, they let their kids throw a lot and throw a lot of junk. Average FB in NPB is probabl 87 to our 91, though.
|
1:48 |
I always think the dude’s name is Harvey Hunter. WHY HAVE TWO FIRST NAMES |
1:48 |
I refuse to believe that Santiago Casilla chose to swing the bat against Bochy’s wishes. Have you seen his previous at bats? |
1:49 |
: I was laughing until I was all like oh he’s really hurt I should stop laughing.
|
1:49 |
did you an rotoworld have a fight?!!? |
1:49 |
: Nope. Just didn’t make sense for me any longer. Love the guys over there.

On Tuesday night EE was holding Papi on at first. Gibbons promptly got EE’s attention, pointed to his own gut, then moved EE off of first base. Baseball. |

Starting Masterson against the O’s today? |
1:50 |
: Makes me super nervous. I wouldn’t. No shares here.
|
1:50 |
I’m desperate! Getting different advice everywhere I go. 12 Team H2H Weekly Points League – Kershaw/Reyes or Tulo? |
1:51 |
: This is because advice for points is impossible. Also don’t know the rest of your staff. Given that Tulo injury risk has to about = Kershaw, I’ll take Kershaw side.
|

Kenley also has 1.5 WHIP… Robertson’s .63 and an FIP a half run better than KJ. oh yeah did I mention DR’s K-BB rate is 33.3 while KJ’s is 26.9 ? |
1:53 |
: I would never look at WHIP for a ranking. Too many things go into that. Yes, DR’s K-BB is good so far, in 12 innings. He’s a great pitcher. He’s never struck out as many as Kenley, and I doubt Kenley has WHIP problems going forward. As I said, DRob would’ve moved up, and I think he or Chapman would have likely replaced Uehara, who’s throwing 87 and is tired.

I think you should double-down on Carrasco. He’s already your bannerman. |
1:54 |
http://www.fangraphs.com/fa…
: Hold on! I see Skaggs, Kluber, Gray, Tanaka, Keuchel and Estrada before I see any Carrasco on this list. |
1:55 |
You’re that down on Liriano? Suggest dropping him for guys like Peralta, Eovaldi, Smyly, Hughes, Cingrani, etc.? |
1:55 |
: Yes, yes, Yes, maybe, yes.
|
1:55 |
JDLR has a 3.41ERA at Coors since 2010 |
1:55 |
: Sure. And I still don’t trust him.
|
1:55 |
btw… rsvp for the birthday party! felix will love the new swing set! |
1:55 |
: Consider this my RSVP? We will, just, things crazy with the move.
|

ROS, niese or beckett? |
1:56 |
: Beckett
|
1:56 |
Where do you see Franklin getting the majority of his AB’s while Hart is out? |
1:56 |
: Is very strange. DH! corner outfield?
|
1:56 |
Trade straight up, Paxton for Doolittle, which side do you like? |
1:56 |
: Doolittle actually.
|
1:56 |
: (in redraft)
|
1:57 |
remember when the mets wouldnt trade their SP depth for any kind of bat or an actual major league capable short stop? Remember? |
1:57 |
: Remember when you actually knew what trades were in front of them?
|
1:57 |
How come comments come from players moms but never the dads? |
1:57 |
I picked up Dellin Betances. Through last week he has averaged this season per week (2.94 IP, 2.18 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 6Ks). Is this a good strategy for a RP picture to log some IP to help out standard pitching scoring and pick up some Ks? |
1:57 |
: only problem is that relievers are pretty volatile
|
1:57 |
When is Baileys gonna get that hr/9 under 1 its at 1.578? |
1:58 |
: By the second half.
|
1:58 |
Re: Vanilla Ice and Under Pressure—He paid after they sued, not before. |
1:58 |
Ha, I meant Keye-cull. |
1:58 |

Eno, Need Beer and Baseball Advice. Come to the conclusion most IPAs are just too bitter for my aging taste buds. Recommendations other beer types? What are your thoughts on Carlos Martinez, Stephenson, Skaggs, Stroman long term. Thanks. |
1:59 |
: Try Saisons, session IPAs, Dirty Pilsners, Browns. C-Mart a reliever for me now. Skaggs okay and great reclamation project but ceiling not super high. Stroman might be good for a few years a-la Kazmir. Need to know more about Stephenson.

Thanks for your guy feeling. Clearly, I wanted that over your gut feeling. |

Aoki largely an empty space with 0 hmrs and a few steals. Jump on the AJ Pollock bandwagon? |
2:00 |
: Aoki not taking off is important because he’s old. Never was big for power. I think he’s droppable, even if Pollock has a risk of losing time when Trumbo returns.
|
2:01 |
Is Tyson Ross for real?? He’s got a reliever profile… |
2:02 |
: The change is a little better this year but the mechanics are awful. I think he can be good for short bursts but wouldn’t invest in a keeper league.
|
2:02 |
Clippard may not be eminent, but might he be imminent? (depending upon how much beer he’s drunk?) |
2:02 |
: Dammit. He’s neither the former nor the latter!
|
2:03 |
Can I be your Asst? I have an unruly fro and like beer also. |
2:03 |
: Boom, hired.
|
2:03 |
Sale coming back, Skaggs or Smyly kicked to the curb? |
2:03 |
: Skaggs.

RE: Baseball Space Jam |
With a phone full of pictures of pitchers' fingers, strange beers, and his two toddler sons, Eno Sarris can be found at the ballpark or a brewery most days. Read him here, writing about the A's or Giants at The Athletic, or about beer at October. Follow him on Twitter @enosarris if you can handle the sandwiches and inanity.
I just straight out dropped Shelby Miller for Dallas Kuechel in my 8-teamer. Life is too short to walk around with rocks in your pockets #ShallowLeagueProblems
Cool story hansel
