Eric Longenhagen Prospects Chat 9/12

1:02
Eric A Longenhagen: Morning, everyone. Gonna let Szym finish his chat before I get going here. Fell free to pump questions into the queue and I’ll get rolling when he’s done.

1:39
Eric A Longenhagen: Okay everyone, let’s get rolling.

1:39
CJ: Tell me how to feel about Dylan Cease and his ridiculous stuff.

1:40
Eric A Longenhagen: I think you should feel excited but I caution you to let your guard down because the guy has a pretty lengthy injury history. Only allow yourself to be vulnerable if you can deal with a broken heart.

1:40
LA: How do you like the possibility of Yohander Mendez helping out the Texas rotation as early as spring training next year?

1:41
Eric A Longenhagen: Non-zero chance, the stuff is certainly good enough, but I think it’s more likely he starts next year in the minors.

1:41
Big Joe Mufferaw: If Otani was not a pitcher, would he be a top 100 prospect?

1:41
Eric A Longenhagen: No

1:41
Adam: With Walker Buehler’s new and improved stuff does he make your top 100?

1:42
Eric A Longenhagen: Almost has to, right? Throwing harder than he did at Vanderbilt, showing a plus curveball and cutter/slider thing in the low-90s. It’s nasty.

1:42
JD15: Thoughts on Cubs Trevor Clifton? Think he can be a solid 3 in a couple seasons?

1:44
Eric A Longenhagen: That’s probably what the ceiling is, not the most likely outcome, but he’s definitely a potential rotation piece. Probably more of a #4 for me because I’m not sure how much more command there’s going to be.

1:44
Vic Romano: What are your thoughts on these OFs – Margot, Meadows, and Brinson? Which of them do you think will end up having the better career?

1:46
Eric A Longenhagen: Brinson has monster power and speed potential at the expense of swing and miss. Meadows is less explosive but will probably hit for power, have speed and make a bunch of contact, too. Margot is glove-first. Swing isn’t geared for much power, though I think it’s in the body if he/SD wants to try to unlock it. Might be risky to try that, though.

1:46
Don : Diamondbacks most underrated prospect?

1:46
Eric A Longenhagen: Henry Castillo

1:46
varnson: Will you be providing a report on LAD De Leon?

1:47
Eric A Longenhagen: I can give you one now. Fastball low-90s this year, velo down a bit from last, can lack plane but has some movement. Changeup is plus, uses against both left and right-handed hitters, slider is average to above and plays above because he has plus command. He’s good.

1:48
some guy: Can Tony Kemp be a quality utility player? What does he need to focus on improving?

1:48
Eric A Longenhagen: I think so. Think he just needs more time against big league pitching.

1:48
some guy: Who is your favorite LH relief prospect that doesn’t get enough attention?

1:49
Eric A Longenhagen: Obviously there are more left-handed relief prospects than any normal person can remember off the top of their head, so with that in mind I’ll say Steve Okert.

1:49
Adam: Preller’s 2016 International class is getting a lot of hype, but are any members of his 2015 class beginning to make a name for themselves?

1:50
Eric A Longenhagen: Meh. Not especially. The big names from that group are prospects but guys like Henry Henry are solid arms to watch, not much more than that right now.

1:50
Win Remmerswaal: What do we have in Jeimer Candelario? That’s a damn fine year in AAA after saucing it up in AA. What’s his future?

1:50
Eric A Longenhagen: Gotta find a position for him but he can really hit.

1:50
Mark Attanasio: I’m wondering if you could share a scouting report on Ryan Cordell, the PTBNL in the Brewers-Rangers trade. Our in-house version of KATOH says Cordell is great, but I want to know what an independent scout thinks. Thank you!

1:51
Eric A Longenhagen: Good athlete, some positional versatility there, has some power but lots of swing and miss. Utility type for me.

1:52
Adam: Has Franchy Cordero’s move to CF made him a legitimate prospect in the Padres system?

1:52
Eric A Longenhagen: Has always been “legit” but that he can play a little bit of CF helps things for sure.

1:52
Adam: Is Jaren Kendell the odds on favorite to go #1 in the 2017 draft as of today?

1:53
Eric A Longenhagen: I think so, yes.

1:53
Todd Boss: Lucas Giolito question; lost of angst in Nats-land over his diminished velocity and lack of command this year. Is it all related to mechanical issues (as he recently admitted)? Is he a victim of hype and actually isn’t as good as he purportedly was supposed to be?

1:53
Eric A Longenhagen: More a victim of impatience, as are most all prospects.

1:53
Boof Bonser: Quick rundown on Matt Olson & Renato Nunez, both called up today by Oakland?

1:55
Eric A Longenhagen: Power before hit from both of them but not so much power that I don’t care if they’re 30/40 hitters. Both potential average regulars for me.

1:55
Jack: Favorite middle infield prospect in 2017 draft?

1:55
Eric A Longenhagen: Favorite ? Best. With that in mind, Trevor Hauver. At least among high schoolers.

1:56
Jake: Do you feel(As far as talent is concerned)that Adrian Morejon could handle a full season level of Minor League Baseball?

1:57
Eric A Longenhagen: Reports from Int’l scouts kind of implied that, if anyone could come right over and do it, it’s a guy like this. But I didn’t explicitly ask anyone that question. He’s just very advanced.

1:58
Lucas: Do you think Glasnow’s control issues can largely be attributed to his frame, which best resembles a wacky flailing inflatable tube man? Are pitchers capable of “growing in” to their control?

1:59
Eric A Longenhagen: I think his lever length does impact his control, or at least allows less room for mechanical error. Yes, I think pitchers like that can grow into their bodies and have better control. Lots of arms have.

1:59
Gordon: Mitch Keller has had an excellent year, and so far, has done well in his brief time in the FSL. Does he have the ceiling of a #1?

2:00
Eric A Longenhagen: No. #1 ceilings are incredibly rare.

2:00
Kristen: Post-trade deadline, where would you rank TEX’s farm system? Losing Ortiz, Brinson, Tate, and Cordell is a pretty substantial blow.

2:02
Eric A Longenhagen: Not sure where’d I’d slot them among all 30 clubs off the top of my head, but yeah losing those guys is a substantial blow. They still have a deep well of talent, but only Leodys Taveras has moved into that “potential star” tier that Brinson et. all used to occupy. Lots of lower level arms and infielders, though.

2:02
Decisions: If a team is rebuilding and has a system strong in pitching for example, do you believe it’s better to continue to stockpile pitching or balance it out by acquiring more hitters?

2:03
Eric A Longenhagen: Best Players Available, Regardless of Position.

2:03
Nate: With how Zimmer, Mejia, and McKenzie ended their seasons, is there any chance Zimmer doesn’t end up as the top prospect for the Indians heading into next season? There are a lot of thing NOT to like about Zimmer at this point, no?

2:05
Eric A Longenhagen: McKenzie is basically everything I look for in a pitching prospect so, independent of Zimmer’s swing and miss issues, he’s very much in consideration for Cleveland’s top spot as I begin to put lists together.

2:05
Brendan: Is Willy Adames’ ceiling .280 25HR at his peak? What’s likely?

2:05
Eric A Longenhagen: I think that’s possible. Likely is probably a few dingers short of that, still really good.

2:05
Harambe: Random scouting question: How much video or advanced data does the average team have on other team’s prospects? i.e. — out of the clear blue, team A offers team B a middling prospect in the middle of their system; how much and what kind of data does team B have go on above and beyond what is public? What percentage of minor-league games are taped and how available is that tape?

2:07
Eric A Longenhagen: A ton, Harambe, a ton. Every game is filmed from multiple angles, some fed live into the club’s front office. I think teams share data like spin rates and exit velos, too. Lots of teams have Trackman or the like at their minor league affiliates, including in complex-level ball. They have magnitudes more info on their prospects than you or I.

2:07
Promotions: Do you lean towards promoting players liberally or conservatively?

2:08
Eric A Longenhagen: Case by case basis for me, depending on the player.

2:09
Marco: Hi Eric, Alex Verdugo didn’t have the same good season in AA than Cody Bellinger, but can we say he’s a better prospect? If not, why you disagree?

2:09
Eric A Longenhagen: I think Verdugo is a superior prospect. Better athlete, better arm, more baseline-friendly defensive projection…Lots to like with Verdugo.

2:10
Pitching Interest: Does Jason Groome fall under the category of potential #1 starter?

2:11
Eric A Longenhagen: Certainly more than 99% of minor league arms. Velo, curveball, body, delivery. All the unteachable ingredients are there for the foundation of a top-of-the rotation arm.

2:11
Ronnie: Will Brewers helium prospects like Erceg, Woodruff or Isan Diaz make it onto some top 100s this winter? Similarly will guys like Maverick Phillips or Trent Clark who largely underwhelmed fall off?

2:12
Eric A Longenhagen: Diaz is a firm “yes”, Erceg and Woodruff might get one their. Phillips I’ve never been that high on while I’m inclined to be patient with Clark despite his struggles.

2:13
Mike R: what’s the low down on the Astros Brady Rogers? BA named him AAA pitcher of the year, so I’m curious about the scouting report. thanks

2:14
Eric A Longenhagen: Deep repertoire, nothing really plus unless you like either the command or the slider a bit more than I do. #4/5 type for me but a useful big league arm.

2:14
i Viva Cuba !: Have you talked to scouts about bat flips / flashy baseball in general? How do they feel about it?

2:15
Eric A Longenhagen: Not really. Writers far more concerned with that sort of thing.

2:15
E: Has Francis Martes made any progress on a changeup?

2:15
Eric A Longenhagen: Some, yes. Slider location has been the big thing for him this year, though.

2:15
Prospector: David Dahl or Austin Meadows? (And does Pittsburgh create space for Meadows by trading ‘Cutch this off-season?)

2:16
Eric A Longenhagen: Meadows, no idea what they’re going to do on the trade front.

2:17
Mike: Is Stewart the #1 Tigers prospect for you?

2:17
Eric A Longenhagen: Three horse race between him, Burrows and Manning.

2:17
ryan: can you point to a particular area of strength in the 2017 draft?

2:17
Eric A Longenhagen: College arms.

2:17
Dave Mc: The O’s top pics (Sedlock, Akin, Dietz, Hays) all looked good in NYPL. Will they play well at higher levels?

2:19
Eric A Longenhagen: Sedlock’s issues with strike throwing are kind of off-putting. I like all four of those guys, though. Hays especially is someone I think could out perform his draft position. Akin’s stuff was down later in the year, might have been overworked. Hope his offseason is restful and it bounces back next spring.

2:19
Hudson Potts: Has my performance changed your opinion of me? How did I look in AZL?

2:20
Eric A Longenhagen: I’ve always liked you and, contrary to the facetious opinion of one of your AZL teammates, your hands did not get worse when you changed your last named from Sanchez to Potts. You looked really good and were driving the ball to the opposite field gap far more than I saw you do in high school, which was nice.

2:21
Billy: To do Spanish HW or to do prospect HW?

2:21
Eric A Longenhagen: I’m doing both today, at the same time.

2:21
jjdouglas: Jake Bauers or Cody Bellinger?

2:21
Eric A Longenhagen: Bellinger

2:21
Nick Allen: Is there something in my swing that makes you believe in my hitting?

2:22
Eric A Longenhagen: Yes. It’s just slow enough that I can daydream about your defense before you make contact.

2:22
Billy: Did you ever think Cuthbert would put up these numbers?

2:23
Eric A Longenhagen: Was a volatile minor league performer and there were some effort questions because of it. Otherwise, yeah. This is about the line I thought was possible.

2:23
Billy: Haven’t heard any buzz on Micker Adolfo in a while? Guy that has any chance?

2:23
Eric A Longenhagen: Approach hasn’t come along at all. Has lost time due to injury and still has the body and physical tools worth monitoring, but until he starts showing improved pitch selection I’m well off of Micker.

2:24
Trea Turner: Can you explain my power surge?

2:24
Eric A Longenhagen: Nope. In fact, pre-draft, lots of people had no idea if you’d be able to hit at all with wood. Including me.

2:24
Rick: Aristides Aquino of the Red’s minor league affiliate Daytona l had a strong second half of the season. Any idea if he has made adjustments to his approach at the plate that can be replicated moving forward? Thank you

2:26
Eric A Longenhagen: Did not hear of any mechanical adjustment. Think he just became more comfortable against the pitching at that level as the year went on. Some of that might be caused by the better arms getting promoted, though. He has plus power projection, definitely a solid prospect.

2:26
Tim: Eric, it seems like over the last few years some contact oriented hitters (murphy and betts come to mind) have started pulling the ball in the air for power. Are there any guys in the upper minors that have shown strong contact ability, which might translate into power?

2:27
Eric A Longenhagen: Carson and I actually talked about this on the podcast we recorded Friday which I’m guessing will be up in the next few days. I think hitters showing pull power are making an adjustment to do it and the question we should be asking is, “who is capable of making this adjustment?” and that’s a much harder question to answer.

2:27
Michael: Do you think Oakland saw enough improvement for Franklin Barreto to stick at short in the longterm?

2:28
Eric A Longenhagen: Not sure Oakland requires their big league shortstops to be slick defenders. Too many middle infielders in that org break the traditional mold. I think they have a bat-first organizational philosophy about that position which I do not share.

2:28
Logan: One criticism I’ve seen of the Braves minor league pitchers is they have great depth but lack a future top of the rotation starter. Do you agree with this assessment? If not, or even if so, who do you see as the likeliest to hit that ceiling?

2:30
Eric A Longenhagen: I do not agree. Newcomb, Allard and Anderson are all potential #2/3 types of arms for me with varying degrees of risk. Touki, Fried and Wentz all right behind them. They’re loaded with arms.

2:30
Jaff: Thoughts on Tyler Beede? Do you think he could be in the Giants rotation sometime next year?

2:30
Eric A Longenhagen: Sounds like the velo is back, which I like, so yes I think there’s a chance.

2:30
Juice: Were you able to get another look at Yohel Pozo, before the season ended? Any thoughts, if so?

2:31
Eric A Longenhagen: Yup. Solid approach and feel to hit, no projection, not sure of future position. A nice lower level bat to wait-and-see on but not much more than that at this point.

2:31
Dev: Josh Bell seems like an exceptional athlete for his build. Do you think he has the athleticism and ability to at least become someone who isn’t a total liability at first?

2:32
Eric A Longenhagen: I thought so, but it’s been a little while since he’s begun playing 1B now and is still really bad there and I’m not sure it’s going to come anymore.

2:32
Sir Nerdlington: Has a J2 ever made your top 100? Believe youv said Maitan has a shot this year.

2:33
Eric A Longenhagen: This will be my first year doing a top 100.

2:33
Joe: Bellinger a guy worth stashing in fantasy? Over say guys like Moniak, Kyle Lewis, Zack Collins, etc..?

2:33
Eric A Longenhagen: Would rather have Moniak and Lewis.

2:33
Dooduh: Where are you on Gavin Cecchini both offense and defense? What comps come to mind?

2:34
Eric A Longenhagen: Plus hit, very little power, just okay at SS. Utility type. I try to avoid comps unless I’m talking about the body or unless they’re somehow funny.

2:34
JD15: what is the ratio of MLB : non-MLB that you watch?

2:34
Eric A Longenhagen: In person? I try to hit one MLB game a month versus like 20 minor league or amateur games per month.

2:35
tengopreguntas: I have seen people say that “a prospects ceiling can’t change that quickly”. A specific example of this would be with relation to Mark Appel. I’m of the opinion that it can indeed change and pretty quickly if people realize that the player they are currently seeing just doesn’t have the same skill level as they had previously thought that player did.

What are your thoughts on this idea?

2:36
Eric A Longenhagen: I know people who would argue that every player’s ceiling is the best player in baseball because of the unpredictable nature of human beings.

2:36
Steve: Any under-the-radar pirates prospects to keep an eye on?

2:36
Eric A Longenhagen: Is Taylor Hearn under the radar? Him.

2:37
Zonk: Ian Happ kinda slumped late in the year. Are you worried, or just a slump? What do you see him as at the ML level?

2:37
Eric A Longenhagen: Not worried, that dude is going to hit. Breath and relax when one of your team’s prospects strgulles for a moth or two. This is a long process.

2:37
Zonk: What Farm System, in your mind, had the worst season in terms of failed performances/injuries?

2:37
Eric A Longenhagen: Milwaukee’s.

2:38
Southi: Of the following Braves position prospects which one do you think has the best chance at being a solid major league contributor: Dustin Peterson, Travis Demerritte, Austin Riley, Dylan Moore, Ronald Acuna or Christian Pache?

2:39
Eric A Longenhagen: Pache and Acuna are my favorites of the guys on that list, though Peterson probably has a better “chance” as you put it, of being a contributor because of his proximity to the Majors and skillset.

2:40
Fred: Braves prospect that you’re higher on than most of the scouting community?

2:40
Eric A Longenhagen: Luis Mora

2:41
Q-Ball: Did scouts miss on Kris Bryant’s speed and defense? Both have been much better than advertised in the majors, haven’t they?

2:41
Eric A Longenhagen: I know I thought he’d be in LF by now

2:42
RotoLando: The prospect world’s hottest debate is over Anthony Banda. OK, that’s a huge exaggeration. What do you think of him?

2:42
Eric A Longenhagen: Throws hard but the fastball plays down because it’s straight. Plus changeup. Breaking ball is below average. I think he’s a reliever.

2:43
NYTT: Berrios, Blair and Cody Reed have each disappointed in their small sample sizes in the ML this season. What do highly touted prospects trade values look like once they struggle in the ML and haven’t yet turned around? Like did Buxton has strong trade value before his recent performance?

2:44
Eric A Longenhagen: Teams don’t typically want to sell low on guys like that, especially ones that understand how difficult it is to play Major League Baseball.

2:44
Zonk: How does the Angels system look? Still as bleak as last year, or are there signs of life?

2:45
Eric A Longenhagen: Signs of life, though still not much. Might be better than Arizona and Miami’s systems, though.

2:46
Robert: Anybody besides Jahmai Jones you like in the Angels’ system?

2:46
Eric A Longenhagen: Julio Garcia, Brandon Sanger, Chris Rodriguez, David Fletcher. There are guys.

2:46
FireDrayton: Do you have any thoughts on Cionel Perez, the Cuban LHP who reportedly agreed to terms with the Astros today?

2:47
Eric A Longenhagen: Wrote him up for J2. He was in my top 10. https://t.co/WrEY0hj9Tl

2:47
jon: Will Caritini be a big league catcher?

2:48
Eric A Longenhagen: I like the bat enough to project him as a big leaguer even if it isn’t at catcher.

2:49
Nick: Thoughts on Jalen Miller?

2:49
Eric A Longenhagen: Twitchy, I think there’s enough there to stay at SS. Don’t think he’ll ever have much power but might hit enough to play everyday anyway. I’m a fan.

2:50
MATT: I look at Dubons hitting numbers at AA along with excellent defensive scouting reports and see a profile of an average regular. Why do you disagree?

2:53
Eric A Longenhagen: When I saw him in person this summer the bat speed was bad. Reports I’ve gotten since then indicate that I was either wrong or that he has the bat control to make things work despite mediocre bat speed. He’s one of my more important Fall League evals.

2:54
jon: On #1 ceilings: How many guys that become “#1 starters” get there being viewed as a #1 potential guy throughout vs. how many grow into it after they make the majors and improve?

2:56
Eric A Longenhagen: That’s probably a question that’s objectively answerable with research, though I expect a question that needs answering before its done is “What defines a #1 starter?” If you use the scale like I do (http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/scouting-explained-the-20-80-scouting-scale/) then there are maybe 6-8 of them, tops. Is that enough of a sample for any kind of research to be substantive? #1s are freaks.

2:58
Billy: Did Mike Trout get slower? Why doesn’t he steal as much as he used to?

2:58
Eric A Longenhagen: He has.

2:58
Genhagenlon: Are you impressed with the work of AJ Puck(ett)?

2:59
Eric A Longenhagen: Has solid stuff. Low-90s, flashes a plus change, average braking ball and throws strikes.

2:59
Red: Any prospects that stick out in your mind as guys you really believed in or really did not believe it that you were wrong about? Did you take any lessons from it? Not asking to criticize. Scouting is obviously hard, but I would think most scouts would look at their misses to gather info just as much as their hits. Thanks!

2:59
Eric A Longenhagen: Domonic Brown.

3:00
Eric A Longenhagen: Taught me about the difference between athleticism and explosiveness.

3:01
Billy: Who has the sweetest right handed swing you’ve ever seen? “sweet” in the way Jr’s swing was

3:01
Eric A Longenhagen: Cutch

3:01
Andrew: What orgs do you get the most questions about? The least?

3:02
Eric A Longenhagen: Atlanta, the New York teams and the Cubs. Least would be Miami.

3:02
Holala: Who will have a better career? Luke Weaver or Jose Berrios?

3:02
Eric A Longenhagen: I’m really down on Berrios, will say Weaver.

3:04
vandelay: cincinnati cited rest as the reason for not calling up a few of their top prospects, is this common/a smart idea?

3:05
Eric A Longenhagen: Yes and yes. Also draft position. No reason to rush guys who’d have no other purpose in 2016 other than soothing fans.

3:05
Billy: Jairo Beras K/BB numbers ugly but others look good. Upside and floor?

3:05
Eric A Longenhagen: Monster power projection, could be middle of the order type of power bat. Floor is 4A type of hitter who doesn’t make enough contact in the bigs to be rostered.

3:06
Hey: Okay, do you personally think Barreto’s a longterm SS?

3:06
Eric A Longenhagen: No

3:06
Billy: Over or under rated: cookie ice cream sandwiches?

3:06
Eric A Longenhagen: Overrated

3:07
Juice: What do you make of Alberto Tirado’s close to the season?

3:08
Eric A Longenhagen: Touching 100 isn’t all that uncommon anymore but he did it, and it is objectively good. Slider flashes but is inconsistent.

3:08
junior: Is Cal Quantrill a top 100 prospect?

3:09
Eric A Longenhagen: Ah man, that’s tough. Was legit in the 1-1 discussion heading into the spring but he didn’t throw. I think he might be, man. I’ve seen him up to 95 or 96 with a plus changeup.

3:10
Dave: What is your take on Juan Soto in the Nats organization? Hit like gangbusters in the GCL and briefly in the NYPL….and he’s only 17.

3:11
Eric A Longenhagen: Reports are mixed. Will flash big pull power but the swing can get long, nobody is sure if he’s a good athlete or not. He’s definitely got some tools, or at least the potential to have them.

3:12
Eric A Longenhagen: He might be one of those international guys who was low on lists because he wasn’t as physically developed as his peers but the body came late and he’s actually a dude.

3:12
Paul: Do you think the Angels reached on Matt Thaiss?

3:12
Eric A Longenhagen: Yes

3:12
John: how is josh naylor still making top 100 lists? what am i missing?

3:12
Eric A Longenhagen: (shrugs) He won’t be on mine.

3:13
hansford: Thoughts on norge ruiz, who wasn’t on your J2 list?

3:14
Eric A Longenhagen: Relief for me.

3:14
Tom: What do you consider the ceiling on Eloy Jimenez?

3:14
Eric A Longenhagen: Middle of the order, 30+ homer run monster.

3:15
Phil E: have you seen any players have similar seasons to Dillon Cozens and make the necessary adjustments to become an above average ML regular?

3:17
Eric A Longenhagen: Lots of guys who were this “type” of player have hit enough (or just have enough power that it doesn’t matter how much they hit) to be a good big leaguer. Chris Davis, Chris Carter, Mark Reynolds…

3:18
Eric A Longenhagen: Of course, there are also Steven Moyas and Jack Custs…Cozens is a tough eval.

3:18
Mike: Carson Fulmer, what did we learn from this year??? Seems to me… not much.

3:19
Eric A Longenhagen: Didn’t do anything to cement belief in him as a potential starter. In fact I’d argue the contrary.

3:20
junior: Over/under rated – fresh waffle ice cream sandwhiches?

3:20
Eric A Longenhagen: Underrated #SurfaceToMassRatio

3:21
Paul: Ok, so you think the Angels reached by selecting Thaiss in the 1st round. Considering that most experts feel the same way, how do the Angels justify the pick? It makes no sense, especially after reaching for Taylor Ward in the previous draft.

3:21
Eric A Longenhagen: They’d probably cite his college performance.

3:22
Mike Oxynurass: Please talk about Aaron Judge

3:22
Eric A Longenhagen: It would probably be more illuminating to talk about Yankees’ fans impatience with Aaron Judge.

3:22
Big D: Is Aaron Judge a bust?

3:23
Mike Oxynurass: Is Aaron Judge a bust?

3:23
MikeM: Aaron Judge. Big hitter with a big swing taking time to adjust or something else?

3:23
Frank: Is Aaron Judge a bust?

3:23
The Verdict: Tell me something good about Aaron Judge so I do not think he is the next Kila Kahue or something. Kid has adjusted at every level right

3:24
Apple Pie: With Judge doing so poorly does Frazier get a shot?

3:24
Apple Pie: how long do you think it’ll take Judge to find his strike zone ? He’s had similar issues everytimr

3:25
Eric A Longenhagen: And there are more. Not all of those are bad questions, but please know I was getting similar questions about Alex Bregman for weeks after his initial callup.

3:26
Aaron Judge: Can I get traded to a fan base that understands “sample size?”

3:26
Eric A Longenhagen: It doesn’t exist.

3:26
Matt R: Is Yadier Alvarez someone to get crazy excited about, or is he just a man among boys in A-ball?

3:26
Eric A Longenhagen: I’d be really excited.

3:29
Eric A Longenhagen: Okay everyone, that’s a two-hour chat and will do it for today. I’ll be wrapping up 2017 draft high school content soon and I’ll be heading to instructional league in Florida next week to get a look at BOS, MIN, BAL, TB, ATL, etc. in person before we begin rolling out org lists (whisipers: which I’ve already started working on).
