Yeah! Diocletian’s Palace in Split, Croatia. I don’t know if there’s specifically a place to stay in the palace — if there is, it’s probably expensive — but the city is small enough, you can find a reasonable place within walking distance of everything.
We stayed at an AirBnB location not far from the water. It was pleasant and affordable.
