Carson Cistulli has published a book of aphorisms called Spirited Ejaculations of a New Enthusiast.
Dave Cameron analyzes all underwater baseball
I’ll take underwater noises over squeaky ball noises every single time..
While this comment is late, I’d like to note some things about Carson’s comments on Stoke. First, Stoke actually spends quite a lot of money; since the 2003/04 season, Stoke have the 8th highest net spend in the Premier League, which is quite a bit when you consider that 2008/09 was their first season in said league. If you expect the table to be sorted in order of spending, then Stoke have generally underpreformed.
Second, regarding Tony Pulis’s departure from said club, he had issued to his owners an ultimatum, saying that he’d resign if he wasn’t given a larger transfer budget. Said owners essentially elected to fire him rather than part with more money. The fact that he presided over one of the most brutalistic styles of play in recent memory, and also had a naked shower headbutt fight with one of his players, didn’t help his case. I feel like I might have buried the lede a bit there.
