Dave keeps hand-waving the definition that would work to limit the number of pitchers on an active roster. He repeatedly insists that crafting such a definition “wouldn’t be hard.” Well, if that’s the case, then it shouldn’t be hard for him to actually do that… and present it for the rest of us to poke and prod and find loopholes within. Because I suspect that such loopholes would be found, along with some unintended consequences. Like hitting a fastball or recognizing a breaking ball, a lot of things seem like they wouldn’t be hard until you actually try to do them.
