FanGraphs Audio Presents: The Untitled McDongenhagen Project, Ep. 13
UMP: The Untitled McDongenhagen Project, Episode 13
This is the 13th episode of a sorta weekly program co-hosted by Eric Longenhagen and Kiley McDaniel about player evaluation in all its forms. The show, which is available through the normal FanGraphs Audio feed, has a working name but barely. The show is not all prospect stuff, but there is plenty of that, as the hosts are Prospect Men.
This episode is unique because Kiley and Meg Rowley have hot Game of Thrones takes to fire off but Eric is tied up with prospect travel.
0:21 – Surprise, the cohost is Meg and she’s not happy with Kiley’s intro.
0:46 – The elite nut-milk hipster coffee situation has expanded to Twitter beef.
3:11 – Kiley explains what’s happening in this episode.
3:45 – Kiley tries out some standup material about coupon codes.
5:55 – Okay, he has one more chunk about IKEA.
9:20 – Meg launches a lifestyle podcast on the Goop network.
9:40 – The Game of Thrones thoughts flow freely.
31:45 – The GOT episode three Death Draft commences.

Please no more GoT. I was excited for baseball nerd stuff, and got 100% nerd, unsullied by baseball.
Is the unsullied bit intentional?
So you thought the GoT stuff did drag on.
I agree. Many people don’t care about got and are here for baseball stuff. I realize that this is your site and I don’t have to listen but most people come here for baseball stuff. I get that the weakly fg audio is about that but if it is called mc dongenhagen project it should be about prospects imo.
I’m a huge fg fan but too many podcasts are imo just chit chat. I mean effectively wild is cool but it is mostly curiosities like which Mexican ump ate a burrito during a game in 1970. Now with audio I get it (although I feel even Carson talked more baseball except for those strange episodes) but please leave mc dongenhagen for the baseball fans.
Btw this criticism doesn’t apply to the fantasy guys, their pods are fantastic and serious content.
I’m not against an occasional goof ball episode but also do some more baseball stuff please, especially for the guys who listen on car rides. If you need to commercialize it I’m fine with an extra commercial break too.
Have to agree about the GoT overdose, especially in light of the drastically reduced frequency of Fangraphs Audio episodes since Carson’s departure (and the use of part of a recent episode for GoT as well). It was extremely disappointing as a non-GoT watcher to see a new Fangraphs Audio episode finally appear, only to have it be 100% irrelevant.
