Snoop Dog coached his kid’s Pop Warner football team. I imagine it would be a bit like that, except with all the accoutrements of a poet rather than rapper. So, like, wine instead of 40s and absinthe instead of weed and berets instead of backwards ballcaps and capes instead of tank tops. (Drops thesaurus, walks offstage)
Pat Neshek always sounds to me like the name of somebody who was a defenseman on the 1975 Winnipeg Jets.
Or a backup quarterback for the 1968 New York Jets, perhaps?
Nah, that’s a lineman’s name.
Also, re: the “old days” when baseball was cheap — while I didn’t get in for a dollar, this is the ticket from the first MLB game I attended as a kid. That’s a field level box seat — granted, it was the Kingdome, to see the Mariners play the Rangers. But still, best seats in the house in Seattle in 1978: $5.50. Inflation calculators suggest $5.50 then would be $20 now, which is about the price of the cheapest/worst seat at Safeco today.
