I think the comparison between Darvish and DiceK is good, Colby Lewis is American and pitched in the United States, they never did!

Maybe Kotchman is a good fit for the Rangers- they don’t need power at 1st. He’s left-handed and a good fielder.

I get that you don’t think Montero has what it takes to C every day, but isn’t a blanket statement like ‘he can only play 1B’ a bit too strong? Seems to me his likely future is as a 1B/DH/backup C. He’s at least good enough at C to not kill your team catching once a week and it’s probably well worth the extra roster spot to have him do so, especially since his bat would play very well out of the C spot.
Looking at the Yanks lineup for next season, assuming Martin returns as the regular C, if I have to choose between giving ABs to Cervelli or catching Montero once a week, I’m going Montero. IMO Yanks are best served by having JM play 1B when Teix DHs, DH when the spot’s not being used to give a half-day to an aging starter, and backup C when Martin needs a day.
