I read “re: Hunter” as Torri Hunter initially and found myself thinking that the Angels suspending the crap out of players with DUIs or having out clauses for it would be entirely reasonable. Seriously, with how bad it is on its own, considering an MLB player died as a result of driving under the influence just a few short years ago, this is not something that should be tolerated.
I mean, the influence on children is a big part of the rationale for steroid and drug regulations in the MLB, why not extend it to driving drunk?

I just noticed a huge issue with my wording. No, I am not saying Adenhart was drunk, but his death was the direct result of someone’s DUI.
Josh Hancock WAS drunk, though, so there’s a better example.
