FanGraphs Chicago Meetup July 16th
It’s that time of year again. Time to gather around adult beverages ($4 pints!) and appetizers (free thanks to FanGraphs and BeerGraphs!) and talk baseball with some of your favorite writers. Thursday, July 16th, at the Rocking Horse in Chicago, FanGraphs has invited the writers below to come and be merry with you. This is a 21-and-over event — the BeerGraphers would have rioted if the beer selection wasn’t top notch — but if we keep packing these things, we’ll do more of these in different venues and styles.
See you soon.

With a phone full of pictures of pitchers' fingers, strange beers, and his two toddler sons, Eno Sarris can be found at the ballpark or a brewery most days. Read him here, writing about the A's or Giants at The Athletic, or about beer at October. Follow him on Twitter @enosarris if you can handle the sandwiches and inanity.
It will be as white as a klan rally!
For me to poop on!
Well, if I can make it, it won’t be.
You should come out to the burbs for half price pitchers. That way I can come and don’t have to worry about driving home after few pints. http://emmettsbrewingco.com/
Should have picked somewhere in the ghetto.
Is registration required?
I’m in, love that place.
You should reschedule it for a few weeks later so the bar exam will be over and I can attend.
What better way to prepare for a bar exam than to examine a bar?
I’m in Chicago and only a neighborhood up from Logan Square (where Rocking Horse is). Maybe I’ll make this one. Went to the one at Fizz.
Good cocktails for those who tire of beer right around the corner at either Billy Sunday, Longman & Eagle, or Lula Cafe. Fun dive bar further up on Milwaukee called Crown Liquors.
Not sure if any of these writers will be up for talking Pittsburgh Pirates, though.
Also cocktails a few doors down at Analogue, whose food is also damn good. And more beer at The Owl. Walk a couple blocks and you’re in the stretch with Whistler (cocktails, nice patio in back), Revolution’s brewpub, The Radler, and the pool/foosball/bubble hockey/air hockey/other table games location of Emporium Arcade, among other things. That whole stretch of Milwaukee is pretty fun.
To anyone lucky enough to attend, I’d highly recommend Greenbush Anger…it’s from a small brewery in Southwest Michigan that’s already ranked as one of the best in the state even though it’s been open barely 4 years. Enjoy!
Craig Edwards, Fangraphs (and Viva el Birdos)
Looks like I will be there! See you all tonight.
Dammit, why did I not see this until this morning?
Last time Eno and I debated whether he should wear long pants or shorts to interview Yo La Tengo, and I was really looking forward to finding out what he finally decided.
