Jeff made Lookout Landing a thing, but he does not still write there about the Mariners. He does write here, sometimes about the Mariners, but usually not.

I’m a gigantic Nationals fan. and I feel like giving up on baseball. help me. this is a cry for help. how do i get back to rooting for things again next year when another game 5 could happen?

No offense, Elan…but if you’ve been a Nats fan for a while (I’m skeptical), I can’t imagine why you’d want to stop following the team now. It’s the only time they’ve ever been good. (As an Expos fan pre-Nats fandom…this is the only time they’ve been good without need of qualification since ’94…so it’s been a long time for Nats fans.)

What happened this season is akin to going to the senior prom with someone you thought was way out of your league, making out with him/her for the entire after party, firmly establishing this won’t be the only night this happens…and you want to never see this person again because you didn’t get laid!?!

If this wasn’t your first year as a fan (I’m skeptical), the years of sucking should be the only reason you need. You deserve to enjoy the success, if you’ve cheered for teams with Opening Day starters Livan Hernandez, Ramon Ortiz, John Patterson, Odalis Perez, and Daniel Cabrera. (what a list!!!)
