Jeff made Lookout Landing a thing, but he does not still write there about the Mariners. He does write here, sometimes about the Mariners, but usually not.

Best possible answer. Thank you.
Jeff, with the nationals rise to sucess from worst to first in 3 seasons do you other teams in rebuild mode will use their model for success grant it they had 2 can’t miss first overall picks but even without them the nats are still a 90 win team last season.
The Nats “model” is almost certainly unique. The odds of a team moving to a new stadium with loads of new revenue while also getting B2B generational draft talents at 1-1 is exceedingly rare to happen again. Just be thankful and enjoy winning.
It could be argued that this is pretty much the same thing the Rays did, getting Longoria, Upton and Price. And before them, the Mariners of the early 90’s. I don’t think the Nationals really did anything too revolutionary. They just drafted well (and got lucky), and signed some strong free agents.
Mariners’ front office inability to make an “impact” trade or free agent acquisition this offseason: Proper valuation of available talent considering the team’s situation, or a long-term problem?
Little does Jeff know that we’re all going to have the same day. It will be an odd little bit of history, dutifully catalogued in the form of a novel very similar to Stranger Than Fiction
Weaver has the exact same bWAR as fWAR FWIW. Now fWAR has a slightly lower replacement level, but I’m not seeing a lot to think that Weaver is some kind of great DIPS defying.
I wish Jeff would tell my body that it’s virtually impossible for a human to gain 35 pounds.
No kidding!
