My suggested Worst Possible Defensive Infield:
C Jesus Montero
1B Carlos Lee
2B Dan Uggla
SS Yuniesky Betancourt
3B Miguel Cabrera

although that’s using actual position players at their actual positions. Here is my real Worst Possible Defensive Infield:
C Jon Rauch
1B kinda doesn’t matter, but let’s say Edwin Encarnacion
2B Billy Butler
SS David Ortiz
3B Adam Dunn

Nonsense. If you’re gonna go “out of position” players you need stuff like:

SS Bartolo Colon

etc.

If you’re going to get creative, why stick with active players? I tend to think Jim Abbot would make a pretty terrible shortstop, and would probably run into trouble with the running game at catcher.

Replace Montero with Miguel Olivo and I’d agree. Montero is bad but Olivo is special bad.

I initially put Jose Altuve cuz he’s so bleeding short, but I thought some commenter would come along and point out that Jose Altuve is athletic.
