Has anyone done an article about bullpen games in the playoffs and if it ever works?
It definitely can work but it depends on your personnel. You eventually need pitchers you can trust in innings that matter so you need to consider that if you're managing

The individual games where teams bullpen have been split 14-14… the team that bullpens more has won 12-11 in series.
Since 2024 it is 10-4 for the most bullpeny team

You probably need to look at counter factual pitchers instead of just looking at outcomes. Though, that doesn’t seem to be bad for the bullpen team. If I understand it right.

I appreciate someone who can be invested in his team without being a jerk about it. As a Sox fan, I am very done with Will Flemming, who is invested but struggles with the not being a jerk part.
I used to work in the garden and listen to Joe Castiglione. I just can't get into Will Flemming and seldom listen on the radio any more.
I had only Castiglione for 7 years–couldn't afford cable in grad school. His is the voice of baseball in my head.

I think the turn away from the pitcher but not actually get further from the ball move is a-okay (morally and aesthetically, not with respect to the rules that I won't claim expertise on). Actually leaning into it is a no-no in my book
