I think the Rays definitely have an avenue to win tonight. In particular, they're much more likely to throw their A bullpen arms. And Jax > May. Tomorrow would be much harder but today is quite winnable in my eyes.

What is the consensus view on the longest possible odds for a legit WS team against another. Lets assume like best player gets hurt, worst starter available is starting, bullpen was used into oblivion last night, its a 4 PM game, facing a team that won 110+ with 1999-2000 Pedro starting… 75/25? 90/10? its not worse than 90-10… Right?
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, what the longest odds ever offered were for a single game?

I don't understand why the broadcast always thinks Martinez is a big part of the pitching plan yesterday and today. Isn't he the expected starter tomorrow? You need to win all the games, you can't just go all out with all your starters tonight.

I strongly believe that this sort of psychology will work. People are influenced by perception way more than they want to believe.
The fact that framing has gotten less subtle but still works has an interesting relation to this phenomenon. Even if umpires see someone the catcher is trying to make a pitch look like a strike they are still willing to believe it is one.
Almost feels like James Harden doing crazy s**t and forcing the refs to call him out on it. Would drive me up a wall if I were competing against him but as a spectator I respect the hustle.

FIFA this past summer really ruined my opinion of replay's use in sports. Like something like this overturn, he *probably* gazed the oven mitt, but I didn't see anything definitive. I'd rather go with the call in the moment than overturn and find things wrong that aren't called in the moment and aren't obviously wrong.
