One Night Only: Game Previews for July 29th

Roy Halladay and Charlie Morton face each other tonight.

Featured Game
Pittsburgh (7) at Philadelphia (3) | 19:05 ET
• The attentive reader will be familiar with how Pirate Charlie Morton has co-opted entirely Roy Halladay’s delivery this season.
• The less attentive reader can use this time to read a note by Ken Rosenthal about how Charlie Morton has co-opted entirely Roy Halladay’s delivery this season.
• Or watch these YouTube videos.
• While that’s happening, the attentive reader can use his extra time to play Legos! Yay!
• Afterwards, we’ll all watch this Pirates-Phillies game, which marks the first time these pitchers will have met since Morton co-opted entirely Roy Halladay’s delivery.

Watch: ROOT (i.e. the Pittsburgh feed). Colorman Bob Walk is pretty responsible with most of his commentary, from what I’ve seen.

Tim Wakefield’s a seven? Do knuckleballers get a bonus? If they don’t, they should.

Has anyone else discovered the “natural sound” setting on their playstation? Typically I mute the commentators anyway but it’s really nice to be able to hear the crack of the bat. Sometimes you overhear conversations between players as well.

If you want to try it out, select the home video feed and switch the audio in the options menu (triangle).

Is that PS-only?

I’ve only seen it on the PS3, but it might be included with all the snazzy features that NexDef provides. I know NexDef allows you to listen to the alternate radio streams for sure.

It’s really a great feature, it should be available everywhere.
