That’s w/ the pitcher-heavy method, of course, but it makes sense: Garza and Greinke have been excellent, as have the Brewers.

And also the Cubs are playing, too.

Outcome of this game shows you how hard prediction is for a single game in baseball. Two 10 rated pitchers and there were 19 total runs scored.

Can’t wait to see both the Chicago and New York Nationals. Did they just go ahead and decide to expand to even out the leagues? I think they’ve gotten pretty lazy naming teams.

Question about your guys’ thoughts on FIP. So, Greinke today, 1 HR, 2 BBs, 10Ks, so his FIP on the day (using the 3.2 in the formula I found on Ehow where I looked up how to calculate the statistic, I know I should use the League average ERA or whatever but I used 3.20). Anyways, his FIP for the game was 3.01 for the game. However, he got hit a lot. His ERA on the game is 10.01. So, would you say that the Chubbies got lots of lucky hits or just that Greinke is a guy who’s style of pitching makes him always have a good FIP? I ask because I’ve seen lots of people talking about how Greinke should be about to take off; but he really hasn’t.

Why don’t they use extra base hits in the FIP formula? A double will usually be a double for anyone. Really, someone should watch a game, and if a hit happened and no one was ever within reach of catching it, you should count that too in the FIP formula somehow. You can’t just discredit all hits not home runs as “luck”.
