The 2026 Free Agent Tracker Is Here!

The 2026 Free Agent Tracker is now live! There are currently over 170 players on the list, and more will be added following the postseason as teams begin to clear space on their 40-man rosters and decisions are made about 2026 options. The Tracker will be updated regularly throughout the offseason as qualifying offers are made (and then accepted or rejected), and as free agents find their new homes.

You can filter by status (signed/unsigned), previous team, and signing team, and export the data for your own analysis. You can also sort by a player’s handedness, age, and 2025 WAR. Shortly after the postseason ends, projected 2026 WAR will be added to the Tracker, as will the results of our annual contract crowdsourcing project, which include median contract total, years, and average annual value estimates.

Players with options are not included on the Tracker. Typically, options do not have to be exercised or declined until five days after the World Series ends. As players with options become free agents, they will be added. Until then, you can find the full list below:

The White Sox will exercise Robert Jr’s option so they can try to trade him again. I call them the Rockies of the Midwest, but getting nothing for him and then paying him another $2M as he walks away is too dumb even for them.

Even after they pick up his option they only have something like $80M on their payroll for next year and aside from some relievers I don’t see any free agents they would be targeting. There is really no reason to let him walk.

It might not even be $80M. They owe $17M to Benintendi and can decline Perez for $1.5M or pay him $10M. Tauchman is A4, Steve Wilson is A2, and Derek Hill is A1. Everybody else is pre-arb. I can easily see them declining Perez and non-tendering Tauchman which gets them under $40M with about 20 guys on MLB minimum. They might join the ranks of “team payrolls Ohtani can afford.”

Alonso and Bregman must have already declined their options. The big names that will be added here (assuming no preemptive extensions) are Bellinger, Bieber, and Edwin Diaz. Robert Suarez will join too and get a ton of attention. Michael King and Brandon Woodruff are two other interesting names if they don’t get QOs. Some other decent players will also join the pool (Giolito, Flaherty, Bader) but in terms of potential impact players I think that is it as far as new adds.

Most of these won’t added to the FA Tracker until it’s official but I’ll update some of the most obvious ones as they are reported. Alonso said himself in an interview that he was opting out and Heyman reported that Bregman would opt out. Since that was already a 99% certainty and there was no follow-up reporting that disputed it, I went ahead and added him.

Hasn’t the same also been reported of Bellinger? Why isn’t he on yet if Bregman and Alonso are?

Yep. you’re right. Same as Bregman. Already was 99% likely to decline. Reliable reporting. No dispute. I’ll add him to the tracker.

One option I don’t see listed, and it might be for a reason because he is not on the 40 man roster, is Randy Dobnak.

If he was on the 40-man, I wouldn’t include him because he’d still be arbitration-eligible if the option was declined. I’m assuming he’ll be eligible for MiLB free agency once the option is declined.

Neither of the two already signed free agents have their signing team attached.

The contract popup (clicking on the icon in the far right of the grid) looks like it is only partially respecting Dark Mode, so the player’s name is unreadable.

There are 3 interesting SPs out there, but man it is grim if you’re looking for SP, even if you have money burning a hole in your pocket.

But hey – Patrick Corbin is right there!

Bieber will join the list barring an extension with the Blue Jays, and Michael King and Brandon Woodruff are interesting. Imai from the NPB is likely to be posted too. Bassitt and Kelly are solid rotation contributors.

After those six and the three you are likely talking about I would not be interested in spending real money on any of the remainder. I would be pretty happy to let other teams pay Giolito, Scherzer, Verlander, Littell, etc.

I’ll give you King and Bieber in the interesting category, but Woodruff, Bassitt, and Kelly are a no thanks for me. The later 2 will be 37 next year, and Woodruff has major injury concerns.

I’m definitely being a choosey-beggar here, though!
