FanGraphs Audio: Dayn Perry in an Emergency

Episode 600
Dayn Perry is a contributor to CBS Sports’ Eye on Baseball and the author of three books — one of them not very miserable. He’s also the guest on this edition of FanGraphs Audio.

This edition of the program is sponsored by Draft, the first truly mobile fantasy sports app. Compete directly against idiot host Carson Cistulli by clicking here.

Don’t hesitate to direct pod-related correspondence to @cistulli on Twitter.

You can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes or other feeder things.

Audio after the jump. (Approximately 57 min play time.)

I wonder if these two planned out spending this entire podcast with not talking about any baseball whatsoever, or indeed any sporting activity or even human game behavior.

Anyway, that’s it for me with Cistulli. I’ve had my top-up of whatever may be the lifelong requirement of this self-centered nitwit. What started out as a minorly amusing fecklessness has turned into nothing but feck. Let him go, Cameron: by his recent body of work, particularly this podcast conversation, he has proven beyond any doubt that while there may be a market somewhere for this crap, the entrance to that market should not be thru any sort of reasonably intelligent sports analysis website.

Words I know fervently anticipate on the next FG chat with Cameron: No, Carson will not be with us next season. Thanking you in advance, Cameron; it’s like public service.

You realize that the verbosity you use in your comments actually resembles Cistulli’s writing quite a bit, right?

Is that the joke? Maybe Avattoir is actually Cistulli in disguise.

He mentions the name of the race, the date of the race, and his distance. You’ll have to do your own e-stalking, young man.

Just jump to around the 3:30 mark and start from there. I used to skip ahead ~2 minutes because I didn’t want to listen to Carson tediously pre-recount everything I was about to hear anyway; now I just skip a little further so that I don’t listen to him tediously tout the sponsor.

Though now I’m 18 minutes in and… I think I’m just going to skip to the end.

A near-perfect approach to surviving this inane podcast.

What would we better: listen to the horribly-delivered ad for legalized online gambling, THEN skip to the end. Better still, leave after the sell-job’s done. Best: Do. Not. Play. at all.

I had loved listening to the intros, but once Carson started shilling the DK bullshit, I started FFWing to the actual conversation.

No more intros for me, thank you very little Draft Kings!
