FanGraphs Saberseminar Boston Meetup: Tonight!
Saberseminar, the excellent annual baseball research conference, kicks off this weekend and that can only mean one thing: it’s almost time for FanGraphs’ Saberseminar meetup at Meadhall in Kendall Square! As we have in years past, we’ve reserved space on the bar’s mezzanine level and ordered some tasty snacks to share. We’ll kick things off tonight at 7 p.m., just in time to have a beer and watch the Red Sox take on Mike Trout and the Angels.

In addition to many of Saberseminar’s presenters, there will be a number of FanGraphs folks in attendance, including Jay Jaffe, David Laurila, Rachael McDaniel, David Appelman, Sean Dolinar, FanGraphs alum Paul Swydan, and yours truly. Will this be open to those who are underage?
This is probably a dumb question, but is it possible to attend the meetup without spending the requisite hundreds of dollars to attend Saberseminar itself?

Nice! However, duty calls & despite living a few subway stops away I will actually be far away attending to my mother who is dying of colon cancer.
But raise a glass in her honor for taking me to the original “Bad News Bears” & signing me up for t-ball…

Could I interest y’all in holding a Fangraphs meetup in Tallahassee? It has everything you want in a locale. I mean, sure it isn’t easy to access from other cities and you’ll absolutely have to have a connecting flight. And sure, it doesn’t offer much in the way of nightlife, culture, or art. And yes, it’s hotter and, um, humider than most places. And no, it’s not near the beach. And no, it doesn’t have a quirky, fun, and charming southern downtown.
BUT … but …
Yeah, I’m not sure where I’m going with this. Maybe just hold one in Atlanta and I’ll make the drive.
