Comment From Jeff Gross
Is it true that the Cubs are going to put a plexiglass case around Schwarber’s glove in left field?

12:01
Eno Sarris: It’s a bit of a quandary, isn’t it? Where do you put him? He’s a first baseman, most likely. I thought Soler was better but there was the faceplant. Otherwise I might consider swapping them from left to right based on handedness of the batter.

Comment From johnny5alive
i had a whole diatribe planned for you about how awful Lucas Duda was. Can’t go on about that now! Go Mets!

12:01
Eno Sarris: Duda diddat.

Dave Cameron FanGraphs Chat – 10/21/15

by
October 21, 2015
11:40
Dave Cameron: It’s Wednesday, and after tonight, we could be out of baseball for a while. Let’s talk about games while there are still games to talk about. Or, if you’re a fan of the other 26 teams, we can do offseason stuff too.
11:41
Dave Cameron: The queue is now open, and we’ll get started in a bit.
12:00
Dave Cameron: Alright, let’s get going.
12:00
Comment From owensurett35
Will the Mets re-sign Murphy?

12:01
Dave Cameron: No, I don’t think so. I think they’ll try harder to re-sign Cespedes, and if they can’t get him, go after an SS upgrade and move Flores to second.

August Fagerstrom: start getting those questions in and i’ll be back around noon to begin conversing
11:42
August Fagerstrom: couple refreshers from last week, as I search to get a feel for how these chats go: yes, I’ve seen the Conan O’Brien sketch. no, I’m not too keen on answering fantasy questions. yes, I will gladly answer non-baseball questions, though that part is totally up to you guys.
11:43

12:01
August Fagerstrom: ok!

by
October 16, 2015
9:09
Jeff Sullivan: Hello friends
9:09
Jeff Sullivan: Welcome to baseball chat
9:10
Jeff Sullivan: As expected since February, today’s ALCS Game 1 will be started by Marco Estrada and Edinson Volquez.
9:10
Comment From Guest
Can we appreciate for a moment that literally 1/3 of Canada watched game 5 of the ALDS?
9:11
Jeff Sullivan: I love that one team unites a whole country, that a few weeks from now will revert to a sort of hockey-based tribalism
9:12
Jeff Sullivan: The other day, in Toronto, I heard the “ole” chant. The Montreal Canadiens chant. The Blue Jays allow for all of Canada to temporarily set aside its many differences

Eno Sarris Baseball Chat — 10/15/15

by

11:08
Eno Sarris: headed here

Eno Sarris:

Comment From Art Vandelay
Angry Jose Bautista is the best, even when he’s throwing out his own shoulder.

12:00
Eno Sarris: I can’t believe this is a hot take for some: I love bat flips.
12:01
Comment From Xander
I asked this to August, but he didn’t want to touch Fantasy, so: I have a good problem. In my Keeper league, I have Sano, Bogaerts and Corey Seager for 2 spots, plus a utility spot. Should I keep all 3? Should I deal one for pitching (which is by far my weakness)? Who would you consider dealing of the 3? And keep in mind I’m a delusional Red Sox fan who loves Xander Bogaerts like a son.

12:01
Eno Sarris: I wonder if Sano isn’t the guy to deal here. No positional value, probably will hit .230 or so next year, lucky to hit .240 I think. And peak value, you’ll get what you want.

Dave Cameron FanGraphs Chat – 10/14/15

by
October 14, 2015
11:43
Dave Cameron: Happy American League Elimination Day. Two pretty exciting games on tap for this afternoon that we can discuss, or we can cover the Cubs vs Mets/Dodgers upcoming NLCS, or talk about Chase Utley some more, or we can all make fun of Kiley on his last day working at FG.
11:56
Dave Cameron: Alright, we’ll start a couple of minutes early today.
11:56
Comment From dom
thoughts on DeGrom warming up last night?

11:57
Dave Cameron: I wouldn’t really call what he did warming up. There’s a difference between just throwing off a mound and getting ready to come into a game. Having him just play catch probably isn’t a big deal, and it doesn’t look like he ever really threw like he was preparing to pitch.
11:57
Comment From Kris
Could the Blue Jays go Stroman through 5, Price 6 & 7, Sanchez 8, Osuna 9? Only thing that could seemingly rationalize pitching Price in relief in game 4

11:58
Dave Cameron: I don’t think they use him today. I bet the hope is Stroman for 6 or 7, then Loup against a tough LHB, then the RH relievers to close it out.

August Fagerstrom FanGraphs Chat – 10/13/15

by
October 13, 2015
11:41
August Fagerstrom: Hi everyone! I do these now. Apologies for not being Kiley McDaniel, and furthermore for knowing little-to-nothing about prospects. You can ask me about literally anything else though! I’ll be back around noon to get things rolling
12:01
August Fagerstrom: ok, hi!
12:01
Comment From Kevin
So the Astros cannot possibly recover from that right?

12:02
August Fagerstrom: Sure they can! If anything, last night’s game highlighted how crazy and unpredictable baseball can be. I’m not sure game-to-game momentum is really a thing, especially when you have a good pitcher on the mound and a good team
12:03
August Fagerstrom: Also, Johnny Cueto hasn’t exactly looked like an ace since the Royals acquired him. Baseball is weird
12:03
Comment From Marc
Could the ALDS have gone any better from MLBs perspective?

Dan Szymborski FanGraphs Chat – 10/12/15

by
October 12, 2015
12:00
Dan Szymborski: OK, I can’t let the suspense hang any longer. I have spoken. With my fingers. I’m not saying my answers out loud alone in my office because that’s whawt really crazy people do, not just regular crazy like me.
12:00
Comment From Phillies113
Dan, I imagine it’s going to be a short chat today, as nothing interesting or news-worthy happened this weekend, so there’s nothing to talk about.

12:00
Dan Szymborski: There were only like a half-dozen games! What a slow weekend!
12:00
Comment From Art Vandelay
The writers are tired of four-game MEGACHATS, huh?

12:01
Dan Szymborski: If you don’t have microchats, than the megachats feel less special
12:01
Comment From Minty
The Dodgers have two OF with much potential, do you trust Joc or Puig to figure it out first
