Dave Cameron: Travis and I will be live blogging Game 2 tonight, so it’s a chatting kind of day for me.

Dave Cameron: Plenty of WS stuff to talk about, but we’ll also do some off-season stuff if you’re a fan of one of the other 28 teams that just wants the hot stove season to get here already.

Not Jeff Luhnow: The Astros have looked lost at the plate for the majority of this postseason.  I know Kershaw is a great pitcher, but how much of last night was him pitching well vs. the Astros not having a good plan and letting a lot of hittable pitches go.

Dave Cameron: It’s impossible to know, obviously, but it did seem like Houston just wasn’t seeing the ball very well most of the night. They complained repeatedly about clear strikes, Reddick especially. I wonder if they weren’t use to the Dodgers Stadium batters eye or something.

Josh R: My favorite nugget of the post season: The Dodger bullpen has given up the fewest runs of any team this post season, including the Rockies and Twins one game.

Eric A Longenhagen: Howdy, everyone. Let’s just dive right in.

Greg: Do you think Alex Jackson will atleast be a MLB back up type, 4th OFer/3rd catcher type, power off bench?

Eric A Longenhagen: I think there’s enough going on that he has some kind of big league role, yes. And I don’t rule him out as a regular just yet. I’ve probably said this before, but evaluating catcher defense in the AFL is really tough. Guys are ground down from a long season and also suddenly catching an entirely new staff. I’ve had many scouts warn me of mistakes they’ve made by weighing AFL looks at catchers too heavily.

Dan: In curious if you could provide some semi historical context for the relative wave of “meh” reviews we are getting on Maitan. In terms of other top international amateurs, I have to imagine many struggle as 17 year olds, and many have body concerns. Does this feel more noteworthy just because of the “generational talent” hype?  Is this a relatively normal level of struggle?

Eric A Longenhagen: Sure. Yes, 17-year olds who come here and are asked to rapidly assimilate to our culture (which includes access to a lot of food that isn’t good for you which, at age 17, I l consumed frequently) often struggle to do so. And that combined with the difficulty of being a pro baseball player often leads to some unflattering growing pains. So, while I’d rather have scouts telling me he looks amazing, this isn’t something to lose sleep over just yet. At least I don’t think so.

Batflips for BBs: In regards to league expansion, what are your thoughts on Mexico City? Seems like it would open up an entirely new market.

Travis Sawchik: I really like the idea of Mexico City as an expansion candidate

Travis Sawchik: I think MLB would do well to place a team there. It would be a national team for Mexico and the average income in Mexico City is not far off from major US cities

Travis Sawchik: Now the logistics and other matters might delay Mexico City … but I do think there will eventually be a team there. But will it be this round or 2045? I don’t know

Mike: The single-season record for pitcher appearances is Mike Marshall with 106. That’s pretty impressive, but do you think Carl Edwards Jr. will break it in August or in September next year?

Paul Swydan: I don’t think that Toothpick Edwards’ appendages will stay together for that many appearances in such a short timespan.

Dave Cameron: Obviously, the playoffs are the thing happening in baseball right now, but if you’ve got off-season questions, we can talk about that stuff too.

Eric: Can the Yankees finally conquer Keuchel?  Who do you think wins the series at this point?

Dave Cameron: I’d bet on this going seven, so I’m expecting them to beat either Verlander or Keuchel, or the Astros pen in one of those two games.

Dave Cameron: At this point, I think it’s probably a coin flip to who wins.
