Can you remember a draft class where so many top prospects have suffered injuries?

Kiley McDaniel: I can’t, but it always bothers me when Bill Simmons announces every NFL/NBA season is the craziest one he can remember, so I don’t want to fall into that trap. Maybe it’s the normal amount of injuries, but since this class kinda sucks, we’re just noticing it more since top 10 guys are going down instead of fringy first rounders.

I’m not well versed in statistics but is there some measure of confidence that zips or steamer calculates with each player’s projection? If so, is this published on the internets somewhere?

Dan Szymborski: I publish probabilities of various levels and milestones on the spreadsheet, but not a specific 95% confidence interval or something

Would the Reds have been wise to trade Cueto this offseason or did the 2nd WC change their thinking? It seems to me the Reds have one of wider ranges for win-loss records this season. They could lose 95 games or win 88.

Dave Cameron: I think they should have more aggressively picked a side; they need a lot to go right to contend this year, but they also gave up a prospect for Marlon Byrd. It was a weird winter.

Dave Cameron: That said, Cueto will have a lot of value at the trade deadline.

Kiley McDaniel: Yeah the indications are that it’s headed that way. Radio silence from his camp, as you’d guess. Teams and media and public will figure out what this is, hopefully just arm soreness, when the Aiken family wants to tell us.

Hey Kiley! You had Albies and Margot ranked 34 and 35, respectively. I’m curious what you see as Albies ceiling (AVG/HR/SB) vs. Margot. Also, earliest MLB debut for each is 2018?

Have a chance to catch Miguel Castro last night? Word is Jays want him to go 4IP next outing which is interesting considering he’s almost certainly going to make the team.

Dave Cameron: History says this probably won’t work, but it’s also maybe worth taking a shot; pitcher aging curves are weird, and guys do take huge leaps forward sometimes. If he looks like an A-ball pitcher in April, it’s not the end of the world to send him down.
