I just traded Xander Bogaerts, Michael Pineda for Mark Trumbo. We use R/HR/RBI/SB/OBP/Slugging….My HR/RBI are worst in league by a lot already and I have both Choo and Votto to offset OBP. Good trade?

Paul Swydan: I guess that depends on how much we should buy Pineda. And if it’s a dynasty league. If it’s a redraft league, I think you did a good job of filling needs. If it’s a dynasty league, I don’t like it very much. Esp w OBP as a category.

What are the odds that Cliff Lee’s FA contract is the best large contract (100MM+) ever?

Paul Swydan: I think it’ll be up there. It’s definitely an area where I would like to see more research. IIRC, Manny Ramirez’s deal was pretty good. And A-Rod’s FIRST deal was more than worth it. I’m sure there are others. But Lee is definitely going to be up there if he keeps this up.

Jeff Sullivan: I’m most willing to believe Cabrera’s still just trying to piece everything together coming back from injury. But we can at least probably conclude that Cabrera isn’t going to get any *better* than he’s been in his MVP seasons

	Jason Collette: Play one at utility unless you have a dire need elsewhere.

Are getting swinging strikes more important than getting called strikes? Should we worry about Andrew Cashner, who has an extremely low swinging strike rate this season?

	Jason Collette: Just get strikes. If the stuff is moving so much it is fooling batters and locking them up so be it. Zero concern with Cashner on my end.

Dave Cameron: Didn’t look fixed to me. His command was still terrible, and he’s still throwing his curve much slower than he did a year ago. Maybe it’s a mechanical tweak that the Cardinals can make and get him back to what he was, but one game with 7 strikeouts isn’t evidence that he’s back.

Jeff Sullivan: I expect him to play an awful lot, and I don’t expect him to bat leadoff all season long. I also expect him to be adequate as opposed to a guy with a .286 OBP

What’s the deal with Drew Smyly? Is he still a starter?

	Jason Collette: Yes, schedule issues have permitted them to skip over the 5th starter and let him work long in the pen. The rain delay led to the first one, and the second one made sense because of how the schedule was at the time. First start coming here in a few days.

	Jason Collette: BrooksBaseball.net has the on the pitcher cards. Here is the one for Roberto Hernandez, who has the second-highest SwStr% in the league right now!
